When you’re in this part of the country, you’re probably at Yellowstone. That means you’re neglecting cool things like Grand Teton and this place. Back in 1959, families were picnicking, fishing and camping in the area when an earthquake totally wrecked everything. A wall of water sloshed over them and you can still see the dead trees eerily sticking up from the newly formed lake. Head to the visitor center to learn more about the 28 people who died, and discover how an earthquake can basically flip the planet upside down underneath you. You can watch a film at the visitor center or do some hikes around the area. I was here maybe an hour or two. A truly spooky experience. More from Wikipedia:
