I met a friend for lunch here today. The place was rather empty. I did find their lunch prices to be lower than the other Chinese places in the area. My friend has many food allergies and has to be very particular about what she eats. I have to commend the manager and server for being very accommodating to her needs. She brought her own oil and they specially cooked her food in that oil. Regarding the food itself, I ordered the Hunan Chicken. The entrée was designated as spicey, but it was barely spicey. The preparation itself was fine, but nothing that blew me away. My friend had the chicken with eggplant. That tasted pretty good — maybe it was her special oil! I preferred this place when it was Little Szechuan, but I am willing to try Hong Kong Palace again, simply for how accommodating they were to my friend.

Delivery is reliable & our food always arrives hot. This isn’t the absolute best but it’s always tasty.

The first time I ordered food from here I was pleased. But last night was disappointing: I ordered curry w/vegetables and the sauce was filled with a jelly-like substance that really grossed me out. Not sure if that was MSG? But whatever it was, it provoked an aversion toward Chinese food in me and from now on, when I crave an Asian dish, I will choose Japanese or Indian.

This place has great food at a great place. My favorite is anything with eggplant. It is cooked perfection. Special orders are no problems. Cook and owner will talk to you to handle any questions.

Was really upset at first by how long the food was taking(we waited at least half an hour, when Chinese food usually takes only a few minutes) but forgot all about that once the food finally came out. Apparently the place only has one chef(nuts!) but he knows Cantonese food. With the exception of the casserole(which disappointed me major) the other dishes were FANTASTIC! I highly recommend the crispy chicken, the duck and taro, and the large soup to share. All I have to say is that all the flavors and texture are super on point. My favorite Chinese spot in all of central jersey.

We ordered fish fillet with squash and seafood rice noodle dish which was on last page of menu as specials. Both were not too salty and served with white sauce. Took out chicken with broccoli which came with brown sauce. The vegetables in both dishes were cooked just right and sauces are delicious. The place definitely needs a new make over to attract more customers.

We go to this restaurant about every two weeks ago. This is authentic Cantonese-style Chinese food not the fake Chinese food junk that some of the reviewers seem to enjoy. The next time we are there which will probably be this weekend, I will get their current menu and tell you what we like. The menu on their website is a bit dated. EDIT: January 9, 2015 We ordered #8 which is Chinese Squash with Fish Fillets. It is on the last page(titled Today’s Special) of the menu. And we ordered Seafood E-Fun which is seafood with noodles similar to Sunny Palace’s Buddha’s Delight E-Fu Noodles. This dish is not on the menu. Both delicious. We have also ordered Seafood Lo Mein, Young Chow Fried Rice, Chinese Eggplant. All delicious. We are vegetarians so we don’t order dishes with chicken, pork, beef, lamb, duck.

When this was Little Szechuan, we were regulars for over 20 years. Now under new ownership and a new name, the quality has fallen off tremendously. Since the change, we have had takeout 2 or 3 times and were very disappointed. We are now searching for a new Chinese restaurant in the area, and will never return to Hong Kong Palace.

I was not impressed with my takeout food. I only came here because I drove to Shanghai Bun in Princeton and found out they’re closed on Tuesdays. I ordered the pork chow fun for takeout. I love chow fun. I’ve had very delicious chow fun from various Chinese restaurants. This was definitely one of the worst I’ve eaten. I like cheap Chinese takeout food so it’s bad when I don’t even like this dish. The pork was so dry it had the consistency of beef jerky, the sauce was kind of clumpy and gross, and the noodles were stuck together so you had to eat 2in cubes of them at a time. Normally, the sauce is stirred into the noodles so they don’t clump. This was bad and next time I’m just going to wait for Shanghai Bun to be open.

The overpriced $ 17.00 seafood casserole had no taste. The white watery broth that came with it was bland and unappealing. The $ 13.00 lemongrass pork chop was devoid of any lemongrass flavor. Ridiculous. Maybe I just ordered the two wrong things but I’m not too satisfied. Save yourself the money and time and drive to Lotus Garden in West Windsor/Plainsboro.

What a disappointment!!! It is under new management now. Brought home sesame beef, salt and pepper pork and spicy wonton for take out. It was pretty bad, meat was not fresh, the wonton were swimming in a mixture of peanut butter spread and hot oil. I will not go back again…

Nice staff and quick takeout service. Pretty good variety of menu selections. Did not like the beef chow fun, which is generally our barometer of a decent Chinese food spot. But, ordered spicy dandan Noodles and also fish and tofu in casserole and they were pretty good. Also offerings from Vietnam(lemongrass pork chops) Thai(Tom yum) on offer. Will return soon when visiting our family living in the area.

Not the same as it used to be — so sad. However food was good and service okay, but food used to be GREAT… also can tell its not as good as it used to be because place was always at least half full, this time maybe 8 tables had people in the middle of dinner… not good.

I’ve been here before, when it was Holy Wong, many years ago. I never remembered the food being amazing or having the strong desire to go back… until now. This restaurant, although it looks the same on the inside and outside, has excellent and friendly staff and amazing food. The portion sizes for the price are extraordinary, aside from which, the food tastes spectacular. I had the mussels in black bean sauce and the mussels were perfectly cleaned, de-bearded completely and were large, plump, juicy and fresh. I was concerned they would be small, and not completely cleaned, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The flavor of the sauce was wonderful too, sweet and savory with a hint of spice on the final note. Absolutely delicious. We also tried their scallion pancakes, which were lovey too. We all were very pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed our meals. They also served hot tea, wonton chips with dip and lemon water upon our arrival. Once we were done with our meal, they have us a plate of sliced, juicy, ripe oranges to cleanse our palettes, with fortune cookies too, of course. This is now our official Chinese take out spot. We used to go to Holy Wong or even Chen Cheng, but there is no comparison. This is sincere and delicious food; treat yourself.

Don’t get the cheese fried rice with the pork. The meat was either bone or fat and the sauce below the cheese is supposed to be tomato based but they used something else. also there wasn’t any breading on the pork which was supposed to be fried. The reason I’m giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the servers were nice.

Formerly Little Szechuan, this restaurant has a new name now. The décor might have changed a bit, but it’s pretty much the same place. We came early on a Friday and were the first ones there, but others quickly followed and the place got pretty busy. Staff is friendly and very attentive to the diners. We got tea and crispy noodles right away, and our orders arrived in good time. Food quality was a bit mixed. The special of bean curd with pork was absolutely delicious and flavorful, but the shrimp in the shrimp and broccoli was overcooked and somewhat rubbery. Maybe it was added in too soon? Overall I think this is a very good restaurant and is worth trying. I think we will be back.

For those of you in the mercer county area, I found this restaurant because it was on my way to the store. THISISTHEBESTCHINESERESTAURANT Here in the suburbs. We travel to NY to eat delicious Cantonese style food at least once a week, not anymore lol. They also have the traditional menu as well. The place is super clean as well. Michael the owner is friendly and is very knowledgable about the food they prepare. My family loves every dish from the crispy boneless house duck to the fried rice, which is not oily at all. Yummy!
