I stayed here for a few nights last month. The room was fairly clean and adequately furnished. Thankfully, it was quiet; there were no annoyances from other rooms. Not one problem re quarrels, loud TV, dogs barking, or loud music. The front desk service was generally poor — only Richard [?] was helpful and had a pleasant attitude. The others definitely needed attitude adjustments — or maybe more training in dealing courteously with the public. Also, there were times when I went to the front desk and there was nobody around, not even hiding around the corner. They advertise a «grab-and-go» breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, muffins, breakfast bars, hot cereal, coffee and tea. «Hot cereal» means you can get an individual pouch of dry instant oatmeal to which you can add hot water. You are supposed to «grab» what you want and«go» back to your room with it — which is perfectly fine with me. But there was no fresh fruit for three of the mornings [at 7:45 am] I was there; and no muffins for two of the mornings [7:10 am]. I had a good discount, so the price was better than what was available at other competitors. Would I stay there again? Yes, as long as I can get a clean, quiet room at a good, discounted price.

Unfortunately I have to echo other reviews. Smells bad, needs new carpets, chipped furniture. Our adult daughter arrived late at night(we had booked the room), and we found out next morning she arrived to dirty sheets. They gave her new sheets but she was so disturbed by the mattress that she left and managed to find another place. Breakfast is a joke. I’ve stayed in much better places for less-in fact this is the kind of place that’s not worth it if it was free.

Well, everything seemed to be going well until 1:00AM rolled around. After heading down from Maine, my fiancé and I stayed here for a night en route to a wedding. The front desk employee(Richard, maybe?) was very friendly and apologetic for having to put us in a smoking room(our fault though, we booked SO late and it was the 4th of July). The room itself was fine, especially after opening the windows to air out the stale smoke stench that permeated the air. Small kitchenette, sizable room, decent rate, convenient location. We went to bed and were woken up an hour later(1 or so) by someone screaming across the hall about drugs, threatening to call the cops, the whole bit. SO dramatic and obnoxious, not to mention a little frightening to be woken up by. Once that subsided and we got bad to bed, we were woken up by a screaming, crying toddler in the parking lot around 6am. Overall, an exhausting and restless experience that seems sadly typical for a motel or Extended Stay.

Bad smells! In hallway and in room. Smells like greasy Chinese food. We had to switch rooms because the beds had dirty sheets. Should have booked at the hotel up the street. Yuck! Needs tobey remodeled, or at least pull the carpet up to get the bad smells out.

NOGYM… NOPOOL… NOFABRISE. We chose this efficiency based ONLY for its location… BADIDEA! We had business at the New England Institute of Technology and were told it was across the street, which is accurate. The hotel has an odor that isn’t pleasant. The original room they put us in was even worse. After we brought it to their attention, we were quickly moved to a newly renovated room. The only difference was the flooring in the kitchen area. This non-smoking room did not stink. We still burned scented candles to mask the hallway smells. The walls are paper thin, so be prepared to hear and smell what your neighbors are cooking. You will most definitely hear your upstairs neighbors neighbors walking about. The breakfast they advertised and offered was laughable. Coffee, fruit, granola bar, and oatmeal packs… oh yea, almost forgot… hot water too. I was told there are nicer options one exit away exit 7, which offer full breakfast, pool and gym options. Next time I’ll drive the extra few miles so we can truly relax when the day is done.

I do have a few issues with this place: 1) There’s definitely a hallway smell — you can’t identify it as something horrible like cigarettes or urine, but you can’t help but wonder if it’s being used to cover up those things. It’s not a pleasant smell, but you can survive it, especially when it’s not nearly as bad in your room. 2) The TV is placed on a dresser so low that my bed rises over it. If I try to watch it sitting down, I have to actually tilt my neck. 3) The AC unit is slow to act, and loud when it does. 4) The sheets are a little too starchy(or something) — they made my legs itch. Maybe it was the detergent? Otherwise? This place is a pretty good value. The staff was very friendly, and the nice woman working the night shift did have a guy who was offloading late at night go turn his stupid subwoofer down, because you know, it was after midnight — have some respect. She got him to turn it down, and I got to rest. The WiFi, while pretty slow, is indeed free — apparently you can pay to upgrade it, but I didn’t. The kitchen is well-stocked for a short stay with cups and plates and utensils, and the room is a pretty good size, and relatively clean. It wasn’t as good as the other cheapish hotel I stayed at down in North Kingston, but it was totally acceptable, and I certainly never worried about safety issues. Heather from East Hartford of all places: Seriously, this neighborhood made you scared… compared to *East Hartford*? Are you even kidding me? Having been to both places, I can safely say that the little drag near the West Warwick Cineplex is not exactly ground zero for the war between the bloods and the crips, and East Hartford is a known hotbed of drug and gang activity. Get real.

I stayed here 2 nights for business and was afraid to leave my room. I also worried about the safety of my car and belongings while I was at work. The lobby was beautiful. And then I got upstairs. The hallway reeked of old food, cigarettes and marijuana. My room didn’t smell… until all of the hallway smells creeped under the door. I had to go out and buy a candle to mask the smell. The property is being used as a week-by-week apartment complex more often than a week-long-business-stay hotel, and the clientele was sketchy, at best. And, to top things off, I witnessed at least one drug deal. I travel to RI weekly for business and have NEVER had a problem before. As I wrote in the survey sent by ESH, I would rather sleep in my car than stay at this hotel again.

The room was a decent size, with a small kitchen. The woman who checked me in was very nice, and even gave us a room towards the rear entrance to make it easier for us to walk our dog. Overall, I was pretty happy with everything.
