Look – I need to be straight up with you that I have no idea what makes a good game shop. Like, this is so far outside of my wheelhouse that I’m just going to tell you what I saw, and give them the benefit of the doubt and high marks because A) they were super nice and B) it’s big with lots of stuff. First of all, as you can see by the address, it’s west of Valley Fair Mall on 3500 S. It’s located in an old strip mall, next to a thrift shop and just down from the indoor flea market. It’s divided(roughly) into three areas: the main entrance, a sort of inner room that’s open but full of merchandise, and the large back area with tables for gaming. The entry has a few shelves packed full of games that I’m told you can come and play. Is this a thing? Can you just come and play games without buying anything? Games like Uno and Skip-Bo and board games and fantasy games? Is that bad form? I dunno gamers, but they’ve got loads of games to borrow and I’m sure you know what to do. Behind the counter and the register is a massive wall full of a filing system jam packed with Magic: The Gathering cards that are sold individually. Is this how you would say that? Do the cool gamer kids just call it Magic? Or MTG? I dunno, but they’ve got loads of it. The inner area is full of merch like action figures, figurines, and a wall full of every kind of Settlers of Catan gameset and add-on imaginable. There are also tables to play games, and there was a nice table of 6 or 8 dudes playing last Saturday afternoon when I stopped in. As you approach the back, there was a whiteboard event calendar with different game nights and events listed. The back area has lots of long tables ready for your game night. I forgot to ask how all this works. Do you pay? Is there a game night cover charge? You gamers would know. I just know it looks like they plan lots of stuff and try to use it regularly. There you have it. I dunno if it has the biggest or best selection? But that’s what I saw, and the folks were super nice to someone who was clearly an outsider like me, so they’ll surely be nice to new gamer friends.

Love this place! You have everything from board games(which they have out so that you can try!) to card games such as yugioh, magic, pokemon and etc. and the staff is amazing!
