Camel Moving company just completed moving both my business and my home from the Berkshires to Connecticut. I went from dreading this move to actually enjoying the process… this is completely because of Crocket (Camel Movers owner) and his amazing crew. They worked tirelessly, with respect, intelligence and care… and always with a smile or kind words. The weather was miserable this March, but nothing stopped this hard working crew. My items arrived in perfect condition, they set up everything that needed setting up, and even somehow managed to excavate some garden pots and statues from the frozen ground. They are honest, and truly a class act. I thought the price was fair too. You cannot go wrong if you choose Camel Movers.
They were recommended to us by our Storage facility in the Berkshires as Camel has moved many folks in and out of the storage units. I am very thankful we choose this top notch company … check out Camel Movers testimonials on their site, call his references (many), Angies list etc. You will see that they have earned 5 stars many times over. We will be using them again for any future moves… they do work out of the area as well.

These guys are the BEST. I have used them for three moves and have been very happy with the experience every time. I’ve left the Berkshires, but will seriously consider importing them to wherever I am the next time I move because they are just so much more reliable and careful than any other mover I’ve ever used.

I have used Camel twice, once in 2004 and again three months ago. Crockett and Co. were spectacular, courteous, thorough. We had lots of fragile antiques that received extra care, and have been moved and stored expertly. These are people who take packing and moving seriously, and have had experience in virtually every circumstance. They aren’t cheap but they are worth it. They have standards and have gone beyond the tour of duty for me now twice. S.G. is a sad person who has done this sort of character assassination before. There’s plenty of these people in the Berkshires, sadly.

Worst moving experience I ever had. The owner, Crocket, sounded nuts on the phone but since two reputable contractors referred him to me, I went ahead and hired him. Huge mistake! He insisted on collecting a $ 1,500 deposit, which he cashed immediately. Then, on the day of the move, not only did he show up late, but he was rude and insulting, making comments about my belongings, and telling his crew which pieces he thought were valuable. He talked nonstop, either complaining about the move, extoling his own abilities, or disparaging his competition. He kept insisting my baby grand piano was larger than I told him it was. And when I insisted that I knew the size of my own piano, he blew a gaskett, telling me that he moved Skitch Henderson’s (!?) piano, which made him an expert on pianos. He promised me he would lay down cloths so that the floors in the house I was moving to would not get ruined. Well, he never did, saying that I’d most likely be refinishing the floors anyway (really?). He promised to bring wardrobe boxes, which he never did. Most of my belongings were already boxed up and in the basement, but less than a third of the basement contents were moved.
His crew were very sweet but completely inexperienced. They spent all day and into the evening and moved less than half of my things. Through out the day he kept threatening to walk of the job, and at the end of the day he did, leaving my baby grand piano in pieces.
Crocket either needs a drug-​treatment program or a padded cell. Only hire this guy if you’re a glutton for punishment and enjoy being insulted and treated like crap. By the way, I called one of the companies this lunatic was disparaging, Mullin Moving Co. They were great! They showed up on time. Moved the rest of my things in less than a day. They were courteous, professional, and a joy to work with.
