Yia Yia’s Goodies

Located in a strip mall next to the Broken Yolk, Yia’s Yia’s Goodies is a chocolate store selling sponge candy, truffles and other house made chocolates. This week, the store was lined with many Valentine’s Day packages in the shape of hearts, XO’s and etc.
I also got some sponge candy to mail out to a friend at $ 19.99/lb. They have all sorts of varieties — dark chocolate, peanut butter sponge candy and regular milk chocolate. The staff was very nice, but I was disappointed that there was a $ 10 minimum on credit card purchases. I almost wasn’t able to pay for what I wanted with cash. I’ll update the review once I have the chocolate because for now I bought it as a gift. Hopefully it’s good!
Update: oh god. I tasted the milk chocolate sponge candy. It’s delicious! I don’t even like sponge candy too much, but this was creamy and decadent. It’s pricey at $ 19.99/lb, but worth it. I think it’s some of the best sponge candy in the area. Looking back to trying some of their truffles!
