Eyebrow wax was cheap $ 10, but it reflected in the product. I have a rash all above my eyebrows now. I will go somewhere that may be more expensive next time, but it will be worth it to avoid a huge rash line on my forehead.

Efficient brow wax, good price. Nice ladies, chatty but all business. Surprisingly long wait for a walk-in on a week day, guess people like it here! I’ll be back.

Two lovely, super friendly Vietnamese women greeted me on my first ever manicure experience. Yen, my manicurist, attentively treated my cuticles with oil and a clipper, lotion for my hands, and polish of my choice. For $ 12 I can’t complain much, but wish she didn’t leave 1−2mm of unpainted nail near the cuticle of a few fingers. When my nails grow longer, I’ll get a French manicure for $ 16 for a more sophisticated look, rather than the melon green I whimsically chose this time. No regrets, however.

I’m actually the one who recommended Salon V to Kim K. I agree that there can be a wait, but for me it is worth the wait! Jodi does a great job on my eyebrows and is super affordable. In fact, my sister and I joke that we never want to «cheat» on Jodi because she is amazing! I work in West Rox and will drive out of my way on a weekend to go to Jodi for my eyebrows. I highly recommend her! PS– It’s best not to make an appointment but to call right before you are going there– this way you know if it is busy in there or not. This works best for me and usually minimizes the waiting.

Despite calling hours ahead of time for a 2PM appointment, and arriving at 1:50PM, I still waited until 2:15 for my eyebrow wax. Salon V does manis, pedis, and waxing. Of course Fridays are super busy for nail services(especially in the summer), I get that, but a 25 minute wait was not acceptable, especially since I had an appointment. Maybe walk-ins deserve that kind of service but that’s the reason I always call ahead… Anyways, the only reason I tried Salon V was because a coworker recommended it as a response to my bellyaching about Elizabeth Grady being super expensive($ 20 for a brow wax, Salon V charges $ 10) and my desperate need to remove my Sasquatch brows. But now I understand the merits of Elizabeth Grady(a spa really in comparison to salons like Salon V) and the realism of getting what I’m paying for. In terms of the wax, Salon V uses hot wax and muslin strips. They apply the wax in huge sections and rip the muslin off in huge sections. At Elizabeth Grady they use high quality azulene wax(designed for the most effective hair removal with the least irritation) which quick dries on the skin and is removed once dry, no muslin involved, in little sections at a time which is much better for my skin and sanity. At Elizabeth Grady they apply a soothing post-wax balm. At Salon V I got a cotton ball with tap water on it. Oh, and, my waxer chatted on the phone the WHOLETIME she waxed my brows. Pretty unprofessional. Lastly, when I leave Elizabeth Grady I have minimal redness, never have puffy swelling, and absolutely no burning in the eyebrow region. I have all of that after my Salon V experience :(
