Parkway Pre-School Center

I would not recommend this preschool to anyone… My grandson attended 4 times, once per week because they had no more openings than that, thank goodness! He is a sweet, active little boy of 3 years/​9 months whose been taken shared care of by his 4 grandparents since he was 12 weeks old… His exposure to other children has been limited to his younger cousin, and various children he has met in the park… He has always loved playing w/​other kids when exposed to them, and has gotten along well… At this school, he has had difficulty sleeping during nap time, often disturbing the other kids’ sleep. He has also has had problems staying quiet during storytime… Its important to note that his experience in a structured school environment has been limited to say the least… In spite of this, the expectations of him have been very high. The teachers are very intolerant telling us that 1. He doesn’t listen. 2. He should be peeing standing up, because ALL boys do, by his age. 3. He deliberately does the opposite of what the teacher (Mary) says. 4. He won’t sit still during storytime. 5. He won’t nap and disturbs the other children… etc, etc, etc. I probably sound as though I refuse to see my grandson is a brat and spoiled. But I have watched this little boy since birth and truly see that with his parents and grandparents he is respectful and compliant as with other adults… These «teachers» seem to believe he may have ADD, and have deliberately misrepresented «incidents» at school. According to «Miss Patsy», he walked up to her and asked her «Why are you watching me?» And he obviously knows there is some reason the teachers single him out and don’t like him… He doesn’t seem to be too happy to go to this school and is thrilled when we pick him up… We are very thankful we have found a new school that deals with toddlers with kindness and understanding. A little patience goes a long way with children who are transitioning to a new situation. Stay away from this place!

I’m not sure what Unilocal is doing with the other positive reviews on here but, it does make me concerned to trust their rating system…
After some time on a waiting list, our daughter was enrolled at Parkway Preschool for over a year and half, until we moved to a town too far to continue, unfortunately. The teachers are absolute stars and their compassion and love for the children is undeniable. Patsy, the director, is one of the warmest, most dedicated and wonderful people I have ever met. I always knew my daughter was being cared for in a way that set my mind at ease. She always came up clean (as much as a 3 year old can LOL), fed, talking about what she had done in school that day and in one piece!
We’ve since moved on but, the teachers, both Jens, Mary, Patrice and Patsy, still come up in our family’s conversation and we miss them terribly.

I cannot say enough about Parkway preschool. My son comes home every day, excited about what he is learning. Patsy, Patrice and all of the teachers are SO accommodating, loving and wonderful with the kids. I would (and do) recommend Parkway to anyone who is looking for a great, nurturing preschool.

I was really disappointed with this pre school. I called and I have a child on the spectrum. He is on the mild side. He is really well behave, doesn’t throw any tantrums. He is really sweet, sensitive and gentle. First they told me that they don’t know if they can have a child with autism at the school. Second they have me go by and they didn’t even wanted to give him the opportunity to see how well he behaves. The director was saying that because he couldn’t sit without my daughter in circle time that she didn’t think she would keep him in the school. I felt really discriminated since I first even called. My son just because he is on the spectrum doesn’t mean he is any different. I felt the things could it been handle differently.
