Gross! I love hole in the wall dives, but this place was dirty and bad smelling enough that my party of 4 +2 munchkins walked out before even sitting down. They were not busy at all (watching tv) and there were no clean tables. There was a general patina of dirtiness. No high chairs were in sight. It smelled strongly, but unlike anything on the menu. I was not trusting their food safety practices. Stay away.

This place is a food illness outbreak waiting to happen! I trusted the first review hoping to find a new Indian place and what I got was my food heated in a microwave.
I got the lamb with rice (thankfully I get to why shortly) which while spicy, had a strange consistently. Something about the rice was off. And with the meat being lukewarm it didn’t add much to the enjoyment of the meal.
Here’s the worst part. From the time I entered until after I left, uncooked chicken sat un-​refrigerated, uncovered and in an open area behind the counter on a sink while the 2 employees watched tv. Having worked in restaurants for over 15 years I can tell you that is a dangerous thing to do. So much bacteria and cross contamination could occur with such a practice. Reading must have looser health guidelines than Chester County because that would never fly around there. I can’t risk my health eating at such a place and you shouldn’t either. Especially for subpar food.

This is a great little hole in the wall type place, the prices are great and the food is awesome! The staff was super friendly. This is absolutely a place to check out if you want quick, good Indian food.

Finally a place in PA that has halal. If you’ve ever been to NY then you’ve seen those delicious carts selling lamb, chicken, falafel and much more. The owner is a nice guy who makes the food just as good as NY. If you’ve never had halal I recommend chicken & rice with white sauce (hot sauce if you like spicy). It comes with lettuce, tomato and a cucumber on the side (soda can of choice-​total price $ 7.41). Highly recommend! Please support this place because I have been waiting years for a place in Reading that’s not burgers, hot dogs and the same ol’ crap.
