Awesome food! The smoked potatoes are AMAZING as is the rest of the food. I have been ordering from them sense they opened and I have always enjoyed it. The prices are really good for great potions.

Plain and simple, the food is phenomenal. Good southern-​style BBQ is tough to come by in this area and they have given consumers what they’ve been hoping for. Prices are relatively cheap as well.

My first time visiting Reading for the week.
Was on the hunt for some BBQ and saw Johnny G’s! What a great place — talked with Johnny and his crew. VERY friendly folks, excited to chat /​welcome you in. I immediately felt, saw, and heard the pride they put into their BBQ! Even better — it’s very very good BBQ! I tried the Brisket — perfection, bark was perfect and tenderness spot on (pic included). Also tried the Smoked potato and Mac-​n-​Cheese. The Mac was great — not overpowering cheese nor too little. West Reading has a new Gem — Johnny G’s.

This is a fantastic new spot in West Reading, some of the best BBQ in the area. The brisket is absolutely amazing and the ribs are really good as well. The sides are fantastic too, just everything on the menu is pretty delicious, seriously worth checking out.

I really wanted to like this place BC it is so close to home, but tbh I just wasn’t impressed. We ordered right at 5 (they advertise that they close at 7 on a Thursday), and the meat was dry like it wasn’t that fresh. My husband picked up our order and right away noticed the «cash only» sign which we hadn’t known about and weren’t prepared for, and then after running for cash, he said the closed sign was flipped like they were closed (it was 5:20) and the girl taking his money did not have a «cash register». We will give them a 2nd try someday, but we thought after being open for 2 weeks (?), they’d have things figured out a bit better. They just seemed very unprepared.

½ BBQ chicken was very juicy, sides were great too! Just don’t plan on eating their as they only have benches for sitting no tables. I will defiantly be back to try more of the menu.

Durham, NC
I lived in North Carolina for 4 years, so I was excited to hear that a BBQ joint was moving down the street from me. I also had some high expectations. I went on opening day, and there was a line out the door. They gave out cake, and although there was no seating, they didn’t take credit cards, and the people behind the counter were just starting to get a feel for the flow of things, the amazing pulled pork sandwich with mac ‘n’ cheese made up for it. I tried 2 of the sauces – honey mustard which had a bit of a bite and red BBQ sauce which was sweeter – and they blew me away. This is a fun family-​owned take-​out place that certainly fills a niche in this area. Go find out for yourself!
