Has Lynn’s Bahamian kitchens closed permanently? Please tell me no! We drive 35 miles from South Dade for their couch salad… it’s the best in town! You have to travel to the Bahamas to get couch salad better than Lynn’s. If anyone has an update information. Posted

The best Bahamian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Unfortunately, there now closed. It came to a surprise to me because I’ve been going here for at least 7 years now and there was no indication that they were closing when I last went abt 2 months ago. Drove by today and it was a ghost town.

I am originally from West Palm Beach. I currently live in Las Vegas. WHENEVER, I am back in South Florida, I make the DRIVE to Lynn’s!!! They have the BESTCONCHSALAD this side of the Atlantic Ocean! If they could ship it out here to the West Coast, I would eat it EVERYDAY. Unfortunately, they cannot and I am limited to having their DELICIOUS conch salad whenever I return to Boca, West Palm or any other points close to the Ft. Lauderdale area. Thanks LYNN’S Bahamian Kitchen for serving this native boy some native cuisine when I am around the way!!!

Excellent service, great food. I ordered the cracked conch dinner with Mac and cheese and sweet corn with a small conch salad. Totally delicious. The cracked conch was cooked just right not to hard not too soft. The dipping sauce was amazing. The conch salad was full of big pieces of conch. Great

I had this one bookmarked for a while and was really excited to try it. I like to support stand alone/mom and pop/hole in the wall type of restaurants because from my experience, the food is usually authentic and it’s great to have a place that specializes in what they make. I love anything conch, but conch fritters and cracked conch have a special place in my heart. Got here on a Friday night around 7pm, and there were a couple of cars and patrons already there but nothing too packed. My bf and I decided to get the Seafood Platter(cracked conch, whole fried snapper, fried shrimp, rice and peas, with your choice of 2 other sides), and a large order of conch fritters(8 fritters). For the two sides on the seafood platter, we got collard greens and mac and cheese. The order was placed and it took about 25 mins for our food to be ready. That’s not a problem, as I read all the reviews and people have mentioned that the food takes a while as it is cooked to order. I don’t mind waiting for fresh food to be made at all, but definitely call in and place your order on the phone if you don’t have the time to wait in the small area or parking lot. I was pretty anxious to get my fried seafood fix on, and couldn’t believe how quickly I went from excitement to disappointment. I mean seriously, my taste buds said«boooooooo», my arteries chastised me, and my wallet felt hurt all in the span of 5 seconds. The Mac and cheese, collard greens, rice and peas, and snapper were all waaaaaayyyyy too salty. Seriously, that snapper was brined in salt water then was salted some more then fried in salted oil. The rice and peas had explosions of sodium bombs as you ate each bean in the rice and peas. The collard greens had a good texture but once again, salt overpowered any other taste in them. The fore mentioned food did not have any other flavor elements to them and even if they were seasoned with other flavors, salt took over your palate and you couldn’t taste anything else. Now, the conch fritters here are obviously Bahamian style fritters, but where is the conch in the CONCH fritters?! These were really just extra large hush puppies with 2 – 3 pieces of conch per fritter. I pulled one of the bag and it was the size of my palm, and I’m thinking«yaaaaasssss, these are going to be bomb!» But no. They were extremely oily since it was really just a ton of bread and not much of anything else. I couldn’t even stomach 1 fritter as it was just way too greasy and not worth the heart attack on the rise feeling. The cracked conch had a good flavor profile but it was a bit tough. We got our order to go, and they gave us plenty of sauces so, it was pretty good when dipped in the sauce. The shrimp was also good. These two items and the fact they weren’t stringy with sauces is why I’m giving them two stars. Our total was about $ 31 dollars, and it just did not taste like we got our money’s worth. Hooks Fish and Chicken would have done us justice with that same $ 31 dollars. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t try this place again and the hunt for good cracked conch continues.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I ordered cracked conch with pigeon peas and rice, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, conch salad and cake. Don’t judge, I just wanted to try a few things. Lol! Everything was really good! The conch was tender and fried to perfection, the macaroni and cheese and collard greens were seasoned well. The conch salad had good flavor but the conch was too tender for my liking but I think that’s just a personal preference. My friend called ahead 45 minutes early and it was ready as we were walking in so thank God that she did! I can’t imagine waiting that long for food. So, please if you’re going to eat there, call ahead because the food is made fresh and alooooot of people eat there. The service was typical island style… They weren’t rude, just no smiles or friendliness. The food was so good that I’ll ignore the service

Great food, fast service and good customer service, I am enjoying my cracked conch right now. I am new to the area and was looking for a Bahamian restaurant and I’ve found it here… I will be back often!!!

Very authentic Bahamian cuisine; good food, reasonably priced. Thanks Unilocal friends for the 411. Word of mouth is still the best advertisement.

The staff here is very rude and unfriendly. The wait time is ridiculous even when you call ahead. Very unorganized. The conch Salad is pretty good. But management needs to tighten up!

I wanted to hook up one of my Jamaican coworkers with some good Bahamian food, since he has never tried Bahamian food before and Dang!-we ordered it for lunch-shoot!-what a mistake– it was like $ 50– way over priced!!! And on top of that, he thought that the food did NOT taste good and he was totally right!-This has to be the worst Bahamian food experience that I ever had. I felt disappointed because when I went to the Bahamas, the food was so good but this place fell short! What a shame!!! Tha Unilocal Daddy is ALL about great food and good experiences and this place had neither!!! There’s way better Bahamian food in Miami! Listen, this 1 star is for the Marconi and cheese, which was really good! BUT the service-could of been WAY better! The prices– are crazy! too pricey for conch! The food-pretty bad, no flavor and little to no taste! The décor-just okay! The parking-gravel and rocks! Lunch specials-NO Lunch specials just dinner prices!!! **Note: If you are dating a Bahamian person and you want to impress them then take them to Miami or to the Bahamas for good food this place was disappointing! So, check it… I ordered the Conch dinner(because there are no lunch specials), which is NOT good-the rice was horrible! I mean No flavor-I couldn’t even finish it! The conch also had No flavor and tasted like rubber! The Conch fitters-way too oily and had hard parts in it. The Conch salad-nothing exciting! The Goombay drink and the Marconi and cheese was actually pretty good. Anyway, my entire work office was turned off by their food… any they are ALL from the Caribbean! Tha Unilocal Daddy will Always keep it «100» on his reviews!!! Always!

I am in love with the shrimp dinner, mac-n-cheese, peas & rice, & that delicious PUMPKINSPICECAKE!(I have driven from Coral Springs to get the cake alone) I took away a star because even though the cake is a big seller, they only make it on Fridays I was told & by the time 7−8pm hits the cake is sold out! (It’s a pity… they wont even hold a slice) BUMMER Sunny

In my opinion, the closest to a Bahamian meal you will get in South Florida. Been going here since they opened. I do fear, however, that they may not be able to keep up with increased business. I like to call in orders to pick up on the way to work, but lately either they don’t answer the phone or you stay on hold for long periods of time(sometimes having to hang up and call back). I’ve even witnessed one worker telling another not to pick up the phone, so I know they do it on purpose when they’re busy. Because it’s mostly cooked to order it takes a while to wait, so calling in is the best option when you’re short on time… or just don’t feel like waiting in the small business. The only not so good thing I’ve had off the menu is their chicken souse, not much flavor — Just water and lemon. I’ve tried it twice: The first time I was sick with a cold, the second time I just needed to make sure of what I felt about it. Conch fritters arent really like«home» either, but again better than most in S.FL. Anything else is def a reminder of home.

Lynn’s Bahamian Kitchen is awesome. This place doesn’t really pop out when you drive by, it is just a little stand-alone house like building. The food is absolutely amazing. The fried whole fish was super good, it was moist, juicy and fresh. After having the fried fish from Lynn’s, there is not one place I tried so far has better fish than Lynn’s. They also have really dessert. This place is super packed during lunch hour, expect a line, wait. It is worth the line-up and the wait.

I love bahamian good and Lynn’s has some great food! My favorite is the steamed chicken with a side of macaroni. They also have really great conch fritters. They always take so long with making the food but it never disappoints!

A new romance is born! So, there is this Unilocal talk thread, Unilocal’s 10 Firsts 2014 that I thought I would give a try to. One of my firsts was to try Bahamian food. My Hubby talks about it a lot, and for some reason we never actually got around to going so I could try it. This is kind of embarrassing for me as I have actually been to the Bahamas. The problem was that my roommate at the time and I were busy drinking Bahama Mama’s and hitting up places like Pizza Hut instead of really trying to experience the food and culture. I have to say at the time, my biggest takeaway was that they drive on the left side of the road. I’ve done some living and growing up since then and I realized that there is more to life, but it is what it is. No time like the present to do things the right way! So yesterday, we decided to head over to Lynn’s Bahamian Kitchen as the reviews looked good there including one in particular from an actual Bahamian, Savanna M. I was happy to see it wasn’t crowded, but they were certainly busy behind the counter. People kept streaming in and picking up food. It was a steady stream of customers, and we put our order in and just watched the customers flow in and flow out. So apparently people were phoning in their orders as well. They do have a few tables and chairs, but it is pretty much assumed that every order is a take out order. They did not ask me if our order was to go, and I forgot to request it. However, when our order was ready, thankfully, it was all bagged up and ready for departure! We took it home and everything we ordered was there. YAY. We ordered a couple dinners and also a large Conch salad, and for good measure a dessert, Guava Duff. Hubby’s entrée was the Seafood Platter. They gave him a choice between Talapia or Snapper, and he went with the Snapper. I tried the Snapper, and I have to say, he chose wisely. Delicious!!! The Seafood Platter also includes fried Conch and Shrimp, both of which Hubby enjoyed as well. My entrée was the Oxtail. That was also really really good. I have to say I was blown away by the rice and pigeon peas. I am not a big fan of rice, although sometimes I don’t mind having it. This Bahamian version was fantastic, and made me a convert. Don’t even get me started on the Mac N Cheese… That cheddar crust on top made the dish out of this world for me. The sweet plantains were awesome also. I just kept going back around the plate and trying everything. It was really a great eating experience. I had some of the Conch Salad also, and it was very fresh and tasty as well. I was stuffed, but I hadn’t forgotten about the Guava Duff. I had a bite of that and it was well, let’s say, orgasmic and I will leave it at that. If you have a sweet tooth, don’t wait, get this. I still have a lot of my 10 Firsts left to achieve on my list, but this is one thing I am glad I can cross off as it will be a great memory for me in the coming years. I know Hubby and I will be back to Lynn’s! Thank you Unilocal for helping me discover great Bahamian food 26 years after I missed my first chance.

I really wanted to like this place, and just may need to come back after my hiatus from eating out to give it a second try. The cracked conch, although served in large fleshy pieces, was bland. Without the tasty dipping sauce that I bathed each bite in, I am not sure that I’d be interested in more than one piece. As far as the potato salad, rice and macaroni, pretty good… Not amazing, but good. I wish I could settle…(No I don’t.). I just feel that there should be a uniquely different experience dining out. If I can come close to replicating a meal or doing better, I have zero interest in spending my hard earned money at that restaurant.

For the life of me, I can’t understand why I didn’t try this place out sooner. Whenever I search«conch» in the area, it appears in my search on Unilocal but it’s kinda far so that’s likely why. My cousin came into town and wanted conch so I decided to go to Lynn’s Bahamian Kitchen because the reviews were pretty good. Lynn’s is a small place with a few card tables and chairs strewn about. There’s a small dining area but not really good for dining in. When we arrived, most of the patrons were using the tables and chairs to sit and wait for their take-out orders and the wait was a bit long but worth it. There is nothing fancy about this place… it’s your typical dive & dine spot. We decided to take our food out to the car and eat it there. I ordered cracked conch with rice and peas, Mac and cheese, and fries and a small conch salad. Now after eating that blah conch from Moby’s and Snappers, this was a welcome treat! It was tender, fresh and nicely seasoned. My dinner was $ 13 and the small conch salad was $ 6. The conch salad had large chunks of conch with peppers and onion in fresh juice(maybe lemon and orange juices). I took it home and added more lemon juice and hot sauce and it was perfect with a lot of tender conch. Now that I know of this place, I will definitely be going back. I had left overs and when I got home, my husband tasted it and loved it! One thing though… don’t be fooled by the iced tea that looks brewed. It’s really just that powdered lemon/tea stuff you mix with water. Lol!!! Just order a canned beverage! I’m anxious to go back! Too bad they’re closed today for the Memorial Day holiday :-(

Always in quest of good conch, we decided to give Lynn’s a try. We looked at the online menu and not only did they have several varieties of conch, but also guava duff — one of very favorite desserts. So, I knew this was going to be the place for me, even if it was an hour travel time. This is a tiny space with only a few tables for two, everything is served as take-out, whether you are going to eat there at all. I ordered the cracked conch with sweet plantains. I’m always slightly suspicious if I’m in a restaurant where conch is the mainstay of the menu and I don’t hear a lot of pounding coming from the kitchen. The conch was liberally battered and did seem fresh. However, it had no seasoning and was somewhat oily, as though the cooking oil had not been quite hot enough. The plantains were nicely done and the mac and cheese was okay, not great. My huge disappointment was that the guava duff, and some other items. are only available on Fri. and Sat. This really should have been mentioned on the menu. Had that been the case, we wouldn’t have made the trip until another night.

As a Bahamian living in Florida, I can attest that Lynn’s is serving really great genuine Bahamian food. Prices are good and service has always been quick for me. I typically stop in on a weekend morning to get some boil fish or stew conch… never had to wait for than 10 – 15 minutes. The girls working at the counter here are friendly, although not Bahamian — I’m guessing the cooks in the back are Bahamian though. I’ve never eaten here, it’s much more geared towards take out, but quite a few times I’ve seen a group of older Bahamian men gathered at a table talking and playing dominoes
