Shell Gas Station

I stopped by this gas station on July 11, 2015. I purchased several lottery tickets on my way home from my vacation in the keys. I won on one of the tickets and tried to claim it. The machine did not work and so the clerk told me that she could not cash my winning ticket. I was told that I would have to stop somewhere else before I left the state. I stopped hours later in Jacksonville, Florida to cash in my winning ticket. The friendly clerk happily scanned my ticket and informed me that my ticket had been paid already. I explained to her about the clerk at 5980 Okeechobee Blvd said that she was unable to cash my ticket. The clerk in Jacksonville told me to contact the Florida Lottery commission. I did and was told to write a letter and explain what happened and someone would look into it. A few weeks later I received a letter stating that it was cashed at this store! I mailed them a letter explaining what the commission had advised and they did not respond! I find it so unprofessional for a company to not respond to a formal letter and request. I am shocked that a business would allow their employees to steal money from a paying customer or if the mistake was an honest one then the owner has a responsibility to correct the error. I am confident that the drawer either balanced meaning the clerk took my winnings or the overage ended up in the pocket of the owner of this gas station!
Avoid this gas station as they condone or allow customers to be cheated! Any reputable business owner would have responded to the written letter with copies of the proof of the situation. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE!!!

I have to start by saying Thank You to the gentleman that helped me today with my car. I’m so sorry I never asked you your name. I was having car trouble this morning at 8:45am trying to get to work, I live an hour away. As I started having problems on the turnpike I was glad that the station was right there. I just made it into the station when my car died. I got on the phone to call for a tow truck. In the mean time this nice gentleman came out to ask me to move my car because they were getting a gas delivery. I explained that I couldn’t move the car and he pushed my car out of the way, offered me to come in for coffee or water. What a nice thing to do. Think you for great customer service. I will now be buying gas from you every time I’m in that area. Hopefully I have helped you by writing this review. In this day and age no one wants to help anyone. Especially today on ⁹⁄₁₁ I am truly grateful
