Bay Bay’s Chicken & Waffles

My absolute favorite thing from this restaurant is the two-​piece white and red velvet waffle. I ordered take take out after 9 o’clock and was a little worried that my chicken may not be fresh due to them closing soon, however, when I picked my food up it was hot and fresh. I definitely recommend this restaurant, both locations, for dine in and take out.

The food is sooo good. The chicken is juicy and well seasoned and the red velvet waffle is to die for. It’s better than most chicken & waffles I have had. I would give five stars but the service is not the best. I walked in and stood for a few minutes looking clueless, until a guy told me to have a seat. I sat for about 7 more minutes trying to get a waiter until the guy who told me to have a seat finally gave me a menu. Aside from the poor service, the food all looked great. Mine tasted great!

5 out of 5 stars ! From the food to the service if I can give more stars I would ! The place is a small mom and pop shop which makes you feel like family. The owner takes great pride in everything and it shows !!! The owner makes sure he greets everyone. The servers work as a team to provide the best service they can. His recipe is worth the hour drive to indulge on. EVERYTHING on the menu is impeccable I will be back soon ! THANK YOU ! God bless !

First time I ever had waffles with my fried chicken, and I’m sold! Try the cornbread waffle … it goes nicely with the spice in the chicken’s crispy coating. We had the cabbage side dish and loved that also. Friendly people who definitely take pride in what they do!

It’s a little hole in the wall away from all the party places in downtown WPB and certainly light years away from the old school wealth of Palm Beach. I didn’t see any parking reserved for Bentleys or Rolls Royces nor is there valet parking. Yep, my kind of place.
I’ve never had fried chicken and waffles. Not because I haven’t wanted to try it. I have.
This is the place folks. The seasoning is a perfect balance between the spice of the chicken and the sweetness of the waffles. I recommend the cornbread waffles but suspect the others are just as worthy depending on your sugar meter.
As mentioned in other reviews, the service was friendly and excellent. Thanks Kendall. I wish you the best in finding what it is you told us you are looking for.
We did add a little hot sauce. I would like to see perhaps a spicier chicken offered but that is no complaint really. Fountain soda would be better too. Just my opinion.
I do want to return to try the BBQ that is served only on Fri, Sat, Sun after 3P. Righteous BBQ with a cornbread waffle? Holy crap!!!

I’m from Cali and everytime I come to work out in this area… Bay Bays is my go to stop for dinner even before I go to the hotel I come here.

Had to leave another review for this place. It was just that awesome. The food was so good and fresh. They even came aroumd and ga e samples of the chicken, greens and the most delicious Red Velvet waffle. If you havent been here, make it your business to stop sometime. I guarantee you that it will become one of your favorites.

Great experience here. I wish I lived close by so I could try more waffle varieties.
Husband and I went with half of a chicken and regular waffle with collard greens and sweet potato fries. We pretty much devoured the chicken and waffles but couldn’t finish the sides. The collard greens were good. I usually don’t like them, and I still don’t but I did eat more than usual. The fries were a bit too hard and crispy for my tastes. Was so curious about the other waffles but we were at the end of vacation and a little worse for wear.
Husband also really liked the sweet tea. Service was super friendly. The place is very small though and the bathroom could be cleaner.

These people take great pride in their food. I had a free sample on my first visit and was HOOKED! They gave me a full wing, which is really generous. I ordered a 2 piece dark and a waffle. I didn’t opt for a gourmet flavor because I just couldn’t choose. I’m glad I did though because it was delicious. My waffle was served hot and crispy and was out of this world. The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It was cooked to absolute perfection. There was plenty of food for dinner and to take home. As a reheat tip — just pop it right in the toaster oven for 3 minutes!
I’ll be visiting VERY often. Definitely try some chicken and waffles at Bay Bay’s!

I can’t say enough about this soul food gem. I mean it kinda looks like a hole in the wall, but it isn’t that at all. The server brought us a sample of chicken since we were 1^st timers and we were hooked. We got a family meal with fries, mac and cheese and a waffle. The chicken was juicy and a little spicy but finger licking good and awesome. I wish I could take this place home. The server was very nice and attentive. We would definitely go back the next time we’re in the area.

4 stars for the chicken and waffles, 2 stars for the ribs & sides. With a name like Bay Bay’s Chicken & Waffles, you know you have to check out their Chicken & Waffles. The bestie and I came in for an early lunch on a Saturday, and they weren’t busy when we got there. Since it was our first time, they gave us a fried chicken wing to sample, and it was super crispy and delicious (and a good size). It did start getting busier towards the end of our meal, and a lot of people came in for take out. We tried:
–Chicken & Waffle (2 Pc. White w/​Breast & Wing, $ 10.95,
): Yum! The waffle was solid, and I really liked the condensed milk/​frosting they drizzled on top. Both pieces of chicken were nice and crispy, and seasoned well– highly recommended!
–½ Slab of Smoked Baby Back Ribs (Served w/​Mac n Cheese & French Fries, $ 12.95,
): Super disappointing. The sauce on the ribs was good, and they were cooked, but not tender at all. The meat was really tough and chewy. The mac n cheese was bland, but the fries were ok. I don’t think I would re-​order anything though.
We were leaning towards not ordering the ribs, but our server said they sell out every single weekend, so decided to give them a try. Don’t make the same mistake we did and stick to the chicken and waffles! I hope I’ll be able to come back and try their red velvet and other signature waffles. They have a few booths to sit at inside and some counter seating. Parking is easy since they have a big lot.

Loved this place! The chicken is the best that I think I’ve ever had. It’s succulent, tasty, just every positive think you can think about when you think chicken. If you’re a healthy eater, allow this place to be your cheat day spot. The waffles are delicious too, but it’s bread so it fills you up. The service is great and the owner is personable. I’ll definitely return! If you happen to see any negative reviews on here, overlook those, there’s no way possible that this place could receive a bad review.

I’m from out of town so I greatly rely on word of mouth spots or Unilocal reviews. I found this location on Unilocal and was excited to try it. It’s a small yet busy chicken and waffles spot. I placed my order to go and waited at the bar area. The staff was very professional and polite. They even gave me a free chicken sample while I waited for my chicken, waffle, and ribs. It took about 10 mins and all my food was fresh. I wasn’t a big fan of the ribs nor the chicken. The flavor was just not what I expected. Although it was good, I’ve had better. Earlier this week I went to Celebrity Restaurant and Lounge. Now that place out shines this one. But I am glad to know there are chicken and waffle spots other than Roscoes! The place pleased many people as they were ordering boxes of chicken. Not for me but maybe for you.

My wife and I finally made it back to Bay Bay’s. I wish I could say that things went great and this was an incredible experience BUT… That would be a lie… Let me just tell you what happened…
We pulled in and as we were heading to the door, we were seated at a booth outside. The weather was perfect to sit outside but unfortunately the table was sticky with syrup. Our server was very bubbly and personable so we were off to a good start. We asked for coffee and they do not serve coffee so it was bottled water and bottled iced tea. I went inside to wash my hands and to ask the manager to inform Israel, the owner, we were here because he wanted to meet us after our last experience and the lengthy phone call we had.
We were brought a couple of small pieces of chicken while waiting for our drinks and I have to say… It was delicious. We both chose the 2 piece chicken and waffles with an original waffle. I also ordered a side of collards and mac n cheese. We also let our server know we wanted a slab of ribs to go. She informed us that it came with 2 sides and we said we’d decide after eating what we ordered in the event we wanted that same sides to go.
When our food arrived, my wife received her order but I was served 2 pieces of chicken and a side of mac n cheese. After letting my server know about the mistake, she apologized and off she went. We assumed it was to get a waffle and my greens but 15 minutes later, there was no sign of my server so I went inside to speak to the manager. I informed him about the order being messed up and that we did not want anything else at this point. He said he would take care of it. I also asked if the owner was informed we were waiting for him and was told he was on his way.
I returned to my seat and a gentleman with a uniform showed up and I assumed it was the owner. It was in fact the general manager. I told him what happened and let him know we were waiting on the owner. He handled the situation very professionally but you could tell he was a bit embarrassed how his staff handled everything and then he went inside. While waiting for Israel, the manager came out with the to go order of ribs I said we did not want and he looked puzzled. A few minutes later the GM came back out and let us know that the owner was held up in South Florida and would not be able to make it. I gave him my business card and we left.
I really wanted to like Bay Bay’s… The chicken we had this time was good. It was nicely seasoned and cooked correctly. Their mac n cheese was just OK in my opinion. It was a combination of shells and elbow macaroni with Velveeta and some egg as a binder. The waffle my wife had was very good and the cinnamon flavor was quite nice. However if you look closely at the picture it is clear they did not fill the waffle iron completely.
The first time I chalked it up to being a fluke but two visits over a year apart start off with a sticky table. This time my order gets messed up and then the server just blows us off. I am just not seeing how this place has managed to have an overall 4.5 rating with over 400 reviews based on the two times we show up because both times were a disaster service wise. At least this time they did not burn the chicken. I am just not seeing how that rating is deserved to be brutally honest…

I came back at YOUR request and asked for you because YOU requested that I do so when I made it back in town to visit Bay Bay’s again. Apparently you were NOT sincere in what you said to my wife and I on the telephone. YOU and I know what you said on the phone and it is NOW very clear you are NOT a man of your word. I wish you the very best you do not have to worry, we will never set foot in ANY of your locations ever again.

My husband and I stumbled on Bay Bays Chicken and Waffle this past weekend. We’re not from West Palm Beach (WPB) but when in the area, this will be a must have. Good food and even better service! You have to try Bay Bays for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

Love me some Bay Bays! It was my first time trying & I got to taste the chicken for free, which is great!
I instantly felt welcomed & comfortable as soon as I arrived. My waiter, James, recommended me the Hot Donut Waffle & Chicken, and I was so happy I listened to him because it was truly the greatest thing ever! The waffle was hot and fluffy, the chicken was perfectly seasoned. I will definitely be coming back more often!

Wow 400 reviews… guess the secret is out. Just a quick update as I said it all in my initial review.
The fried chicken here is still the best.
The welcoming atmosphere and service couldn’t be better.
Our server James was friendly, informative, prompt and a damn nice guy.

This is a small restaurant that offers indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is behind the restaurant and in another lot behind the restaurant.
If you come here you are probably coming to eat their fried chicken. It’s their specialty. When I was seated the waiter asked for my drink order and brought to me a sample fried chicken wing. It’s hard to eat that and not order chicken which I did. I went with the ½ chicken dinner with baked beans as a side. I could have gotten a waffle instead but didn’t want that.
The food arrived about 10 minutes later. The beans were very hot and after cooling quite good (3.5). The chicken was very good (4.5) They season it very well that makes it tasty and flavorful but don’t overdue it.
My service was very good. The sign out front says this is the best fried chicken in Florida. You will not get an argument out of me.
Come eat here.

This was my 3^rd time visiting so if I’m coming from Plantation to eat chicken, it’s pretty serious.
The location is off to your right in a little spot. It’s definitely not a spot I would stop in voluntarily had I not known the goodness inside. The interior does need major updating! The staff is always friendly when you walk in. You basically sit where you want and they give you a laminated menu that is covered in delicious options. Every time I come here, I order lemonade forgetting it’s not freshly made. Every other chicken & waffles spot I have been to usually has fresh lemonade or even sweet tea. Disappointing! They do have 4 – 5 large refrigerators of your typical soft drinks to choose from (why so many refrigerators of the same stuff?).
I have had the waffles, chicken, mash, & mac from here. Chicken is mildly spicy which I don’t mind. The mash is really unique to taste, I wish I knew their recipe for it. Don’t judge me but I like to have ketchup with my chicken and I really hate that they don’t have ketchup at every table. It’s in packets by their entrance which you have to grab in handfulls. I hate that I have to open these mini packets with my greasy fingers when my plate runs out.
Did I mention how hot it is inside? I forgot about the heat once the smell of chicken heaven hits me. I’ll be back because the food calls my name every once in a while regardless of the drive.
