Quiet and comfortable despite live music on this Wednesday nite. We started with a burgundy mushroom puff pastry appetizer with a beef glaze that was a little lacking in the wine, but was a great start. It was followed by my salmon salad with local honeydew melon that had a bacony seared salmon flavor and a champagne dressing that balanced well with the fresh greens. The steak tips with homemade smashed potatoes and local veggies marinated was lightly spiced with clove??? The beer, of course, was a choice of 10 taps, so Paul went with theFarmhouse House Ale«right on to the style». Portions were perfect for hungry people traveling-no left overs.

Absolute perfect dining experience. My companion and I were hungry after a day of hiking and wanted to try this place, and we were not disappointed! The inside décor is awesome. I loved the bathrooms and the old fashioned facets and there are long tables to accommodate large groups plus a nice sitting area in front of a fireplace. Heavenly. We went with the escargot appetizer and it was delicious. I loved their small warm biscuits and honey butter. The escargot also was made with cheese and luscious toasted bread cut into triangles for dipping into the cheese. We tried some of their brews, of course. I got the honey cider and it was great. Very smooth and tasted almost like wine. My companion tried the Trippel and then the Silk Road. He was a fan of both! For mains, he ordered the plank salmon and I went with the special filet mignon. Both dishes came with a nice mixed veggie side. His came with squash which I stole. I cannot resist butternut squash. Mine came with potatoes(I’m trying to cut back on carbs so I was saving those for the dog but did take a few bites and very nicely done). My meat was so good. Melt in your mouth good. And huge! We ate it the next day too. Overall, great service, prices, ambiance and food. We can’t wait to go back!

When Hobbs first opened, we went there and liked the food. Been back a couple of times. I can’t say we still like the food. They have good beer, but that’s about it.

Great spot to reload after a full day of hiking. Local brews were fantastic with lots of options for everyone in our party. And how can you not like fried cheese curds? This will be a regular stop.

Stopped by on a weekend vacation because it looked awesome. Décor was fun, the space was very open and comfortable. I got the steak tips which were delish! We tried a flight of the beer and they were unique and interesting — I liked the Silk Road the best. One friend got a burger that looked good, another got a salad with chicken which was a LOT of greens and some other things on top… the proportions seemed a bit weird. My concerns: 1. Far more expensive than i expected. I’m from Boston and was not expecting this place in Conway to be $ 20s+ for most entrees. Yikes! 2. Waitress couldn’t explain the beers very well. A bummer at a brewing company. She was very friendly! but needs more training on how to talk about the beer.

Sunday brunch was a hit… $ 11.95 for adults, $ 5.95 for 11 or younger and free for kids 5 and under. Chicken and waffles, cheesy grits, smoked salmon as well as all the expected(bagels, pastries, bacon… Etc.). Plus, eggs Benedict and omelettes made to order fresh from the kitchen. Excellent meal, very nicely cooked for a buffet, nothing soggy or cold and an excellent price. CONS: Ends at noon…

Came across this tavern on our way to The White Mountains! Great atmosphere clean, open and rustic. We were immediately greeted and seated by a very friendly staff! Food: We ordered the cheese curds for an appetizer(amazing) and split the pulled pork quesadilla(so good) . Drink: Silk Road Hefe(maybe the best Hefe I’ve had citrus with a small hit of ginger) and something went a Rye IPA(nice) We will definitely come back here again! And if you like tavern/brewery’s you should eat here too!

So my first review was back when they first opened and I was by far not impressed at all 1 star was too much. So now all this time later I’m given a gift card for Christmas for 25 dollars, yeah try finding anything decent in that range. So last weekend we had our nieces over and decided to order takeout on the kids menu. The only reason I’m giving this 2 stars is because the staff were decent and the food was hot and ready when they said. However. … once we were not expecting our order to be short of a couple items yup kids meals with items missing you only get a few options. We were missing an order of fries, there were no pickles(you tell two kids that there is no pickles lol) to boot no desserts. … As far as the fish and chips they could have been a little less dry and the bread for the grilled cheese could have been a little less grilled. I am asking if you are looking to purchase a good gift card for food, don’t waste your time

I’m back to 5 stars on this and I’m really glad we gave the place another shot after our last encounter. They truly listened to feedback and made serious improvements to the Sunday brunch buffet. For wheelchair seating, it’s best to call ahead(for the buffet) so they can save a seat at the lower level. They suggested I do this the last time so I did, and a spot was right there waiting for us. The buffet food was back to(good) basics and included such items as scrambled eggs, sausage, quiche, pancakes, chicken and waffles, bread pudding, oatmeal(and various toppings), home fries, hash, biscuits and gravy, bagels, toasts, assorted pastries, cookies, salmon, deviled eggs, and amazingly fresh fruit. I have to highlight the fruit again. To me, it was a major highlight with very fresh pineapple, grapes, watermelon, honeydew, and cantaloupe. I had 2 small bowls and then a big plate of it. I skipped going back for any seconds or things I missed from the regular buffet. I am a fruit fiend. The runners were fantastic, constantly checking the containers and refreshing them. Jordan, the hostess, kept coming over and tidying everything and checking on us. She told us they’ve been working really hard to get it «right». I just got a fit bit and I joked that she’s sure getting her steps in with all the walking around. Our server was also checking on us often. We are looking forward to the Irish Wake entertainment on March 12th!

The beer was okay. Some of the food was pretty good(particularly the mushroom flatbread), but the chili was disappointing. The service was good.

Went here with 11 people ages 10 – 66. We had heard very good things about it. About 1⁄3rd of the group was satisfied with their meals… the rest of us were not so lucky. There was burnt, really burnt, meatloaf sliced thin, very thin. It snapped when cut with a fork. My chicken fried steak was served on a bed of cold mashed potatoes and a cold biscuit. My 10 yo son ordered a chicken sandwich which contained a single 2″ x 4″ piece of chicken on a roll that was big enough for hubcap. The biscuits served before the meal are flavorless and boring. The butter is so sweet it’s nearly frosting. The place also wasn’t busy. Bright spot is that the server was wonderful. We’ll not be back. The ambience is cool, but the food isn’t worth it… at all.

We had high hopes for this place but was severely disappointed. The building is gorgeous and the beer was good. Our waitress was great but the food was average. We started with the fried cheese curds which were good. My husband had the mushroom soup which was average. The menu was very pricey, entrees were in the $ 25 to $ 30 range. Our dinner took forever to come out and we were very disappointed with what we received. My husband had the burger with chips, because the French fries were frozen(we asked the waitress). The burger was not cooked properly and was no better quality that the frozen patties you buy at the grocery store. It was tough and certainly not worth $ 13. I ordered the baked scallops. They came with plain white rice(no seasoning) and sautéed veggies. My scallops were small and over cooked. They were drowning in butter. I was expecting way more for $ 26. I usually try places twice, but sadly we will not be back. If you are looking for great beer and even better food, head up to North Conway and visit Moat Mountain.

Worst service of any place I’ve ever been too. Went for NYE — with a reservation. The place was not even at full capacity and the staff was completely frazzled. Asked for a wine list & was told, «we’re way to busy — you can have red or white»…I asked if they had an Italian pinot grigio, «no but we have zinfandel»…not even close… WTH? I don’t mind paying for good food, nice atmosphere etc but the service is just completely lacking.

This place is nice inside, it was very busy when we got there and food was a little slow coming out. The girl bartender was very nice and attentive and always let you know when she was going to get to you. We got the Asian wings which were really good. I got the grilled cheese, which I thought the bread was to dry… The truffle fries were delicious. My boyfriend got the ribs which were really good.

Décor Décor Décor. Upon entering Hobbs I was immediately smitten with the décor, and felt at home/in paradise with the rustic barn style environment. The place is BEAUTIFUL! I The first floor is gorgeous, and then you go to the second floor and I can instantly picture private events and parties up there. It has a genuine rustic barn look, with a touch of elegance. However… My whole party had a problem with the food overall. It was probably some of the highest local priced food I have seen in NH for casual night out dinning. And sadly, the food was not worth the price. We enjoyed the unique take on the fried calamari appetizers and the meaty wings, which were cooked just right. Then comes the main courses, and we found ourselves underwhelmed. Nothing was ‘bad’, just terribly bland and lacking real flavor. I had the cajon mac and cheese. The chicken was hardly ‘cajon’ and seemed like it was regular chicken breast cut into awkward chunks and thrown into a mac and cheese that was all cream and no cheese. T’was disappointing. Other people at our table felt their entrees were lacking as well. While beer selection was vast, we truly only enjoyed one of the beers enough to ever get it again. I would come back here for a drink and appetizers!

Really gorgeous building– I was blown away when we walked in. Service was solid– we never felt rushed or ignored. In my opinion, the food was ok. Fried cheese curd appetizers were great, but dinner(a chicken dish) wasn’t all that exciting. Overall there wasn’t a ton on the dinner menu that I was eager to try. I’d go again, but maybe just stick to appetizers. Husband says beer was great, and we both loved the«can» glasses.

Good meal again. Excellent service and great bar food and upscale dining for rural NH. I ordered ribs which I took a risk on this far up north and in such an isolated setting but it was pretty good. They were probably oven roasted first to make them tender and lacked«smoke», the sauce was commercial but passable. We had pretzel rolls which were very good and the bread rolls were deadly with a honey mustard butter dip.

womp womp womp… The beer was painfully average, the food was just ok. I feel like the menu was resigned to burgers and overpriced apps. I tried to buy a growler of the stout — the only brew I really enjoyed, but it was a nitro, so they don’t sell it in growlers. Disappointed.

Excellent from start to finish. No problem regarding slow service, plenty of staff(college students home?). Best food we’ve had in four years of trips to Storyland. I’m sure it’s very busy at peak times. We had a lobster flatbread, burger/fries(great fries), spinach dip and Mac and cheese. All delicious.
