Macy’s

It’s your typical Macy’s. Size wise, it’s one of the smaller branches especially since it’s in the small Essex Green Shopping Plaza. The parking lot is small as well, but it wouldn’t really matter since it doesn’t seem like many people shop here. The customer service is pretty average – don’t expect a «Welcome to Macy’s!» or even a smile. Help is there if you need it.
Inventory wise, everyone else is pretty spot on. Clothes are on the rack and are organized (for the most part) but if you’re looking for something in particular, you’re better off going to a farther Macy’s. If you need common brands of clothes for work or school, then you could head here if you’re nearby. If you need clothes for going out or for special events, either shop online or head to larger branch to save yourself a trip. This applies to both men and women.
I’ll give this place three stars mainly because returning a few things I bought online was handled with no hassle. There’s nothing wrong with this branch. Their inventory is just not as updated as the larger ones.

This has got to be the worst Macy’s I’ve ever had the misfortune of entering. In fact, I will go as far as to say it’s the worst department store I’ve ever been in. Inventory scattered all over the floor. Not a single employee to be found assisting customers prior to purchase. Incredibly long lines at the check out counters. Macy’s actually lost money on me because I couldn’t muster up the patience to wait any longer to check out than I already had. Oh well.

This seems like Macy’s from early 1900′… everything in it needs to be updated. It’s a good place to shop if you are 50+, otherwise you will end up leaving the store with nothing in your hands. All you see is old fashion sweaters, pants and dresses. Fooled myself on going there a few times to look for stuff for different occasions. Never found the perfumes, shoes or clothes I wanted. Each time ended up going to Macy’s in Willowbrook Mall.
The only good thing about this store is its’ location and parking.

This is the Macy’s you go to strictly for convenience. Basically, if you need to return something you bought at another location, or if you’d like to buy a gift card.
Their inventory is lacking when compared to Livingston, Short Hills, Willowbrook, etc.
Customer service is below average a few associates notwithstanding.
It always seems to be in flux, as if they’re rearranging all of the items for some kind of remodeling job that seems to neither start nor finish.
There’s a reason that this location is seldom busy. There just isn’t a diverse enough inventory to sustain any real business.

Sometimes its too hot, sometimes they don’t have your size in the shoe department, sometimes the store is too packed during a big sale day that its hard to get around.
And then there are great days this store is very small compared to Short Hills and even Willowbrook, but it has some great personalities in store that really connect with the customer. I have heard some customers have been shopping here for years just because of a particular associate. I honestly enjoy finding little steals at this store in all departments, if you need a particular item its best to check online and see if the store carries it because unlike Livingston Mall it lacks a home section (i.e. Kitchen Appliances)

One of my favorite Macys– small local in Essex Green Plaza but the staff is really helpful, it seems everything is ALWAYS on Sale, or someone give you a coupon code, etc. They have a nice selection but its not a «full service» one so don’t expect everything. Never overcrowded & always easy to find what I need for myself, husband & child.

This Macy’s is a nice size and not so busy like other Macy’s in the malls. Unfortunately, they don’t sell everything. I came here looking to buy curtains and they don’t sell them here :-(. But this Macy’s is located next to some nice eateries, supermarkets and a movie theatre.
