Chinese food options are somewhat limited in our area, but Bill Harry’s is generally very good. I would recommend it to a friend.

This is one of the best chinese places in west orange. They do not deliver but it’s worth the drive. Large portions and quick service. A bit expensive though.

Nasty. Just nasty. The people are nice, but the food is practically inedible. Ordered eggplant with garlic sauce and scallops with broccoli. The eggplant was almost raw. Was like trying to eat large, flavorless chunks of sponge. The scallops were overlooked and the broccoli was raw. Sauce was odd. Portions are generous, but it’s not inexpensive. 2 dishes at lunch were $ 25 and I ended up throwing it out. Obviously, I won’t return. I don’t like panning places, but I have to be honest with this one.

Great food and very fresh. Vegetables are always crispy. Not greasy. I’m not a big Chinese food eater, but that’s the only Chinese place I would eat from.

This is our go to Chinese food place. No need to go anywhere else. So fresh, high quality, and flavorful. Actual nice cuts of white meat chicken or lean beef. No wondering what cut(or animal) the meat is and they don’t coat it in cornstarch– I hate that slimey feel. Even the basic chicken and broccoli has a flavorful garlic ginger sauce. Big fresh shrimp in the shrimp and broccoli too. I like that I can get brown rice. Take out only– no where to dine in.

4 stars is for Chinese takeout as opposed all restaurants. I travel a lot and when I don’t feel like going to a sit down restaurant, I tend to default to Chinese takeout. I found Bill & Harry’s to be above average in flavor. Prices seemed a little bit high but this is Northern NJ — everything seems a little bit high.

We’ve been going here for years, but it’s now under new management, and it shows. Prices have gotten very high, and the food is just okay. Previous owner was a savy business woman, that took good care of her customers. Her customers where like family. Sadly, all things change and this wasn’t a change for the better. We miss Jennie!

Most Chinese take-out restaurants serve the same bland concoctions of mysterious meat and two pieces of broccoli. If you are looking for something a little different, head to Bill and Harry’s. I’ve ordered from here many of times and have never been disappointed. My personal favorite is the Orange Chicken, which is VERY crispy with a sauce that actually has orange peels in it. Also, the fried rice tastes and looks home made. The rice is not yellow like most places! It’s brown from the soy sauce, which is how homemade fried rice should look like. If you are willing to spend an extra penny on your meal, head to this place. Note — the West Orange locations does not deliver, take-out only.

You stop feeling Chinese food after all the subpar takeout experiences. But my friend kept comparing Bill and Harry’s to gourmet takeout so I caved and gave them a try. She was so right! Its not a huge menu, and some dishes are a lil pricier but its def worth it cuz it tastes way cleaner than your average Chinese spot. I’ve tried the veggie roll, vegetable dumplings, potato pancakes, all delish, not overly fried/greasy and they don’t even need any extra sauce. The fried steak is amazingly tender, not dry or veiny. The general tso is the perfect amount of meaty, not too bready. Their seafood platter is the right amount of seafood and vegetables, you’re def not getting played. Their vegetable fried rice is pretty decent too, not too moist or dry. Thanks West Orange for giving me a place I have to drive out of my way for cuz the local Chinese is that disappointing.

Great food. Polite service. Definitely the best Chinese take-out I’ve ever had. They even have specials which is something I haven’t seen at a Chinese take out place before.

Consistently good food and service coupled with quality ingredients(all white meat chicken all the time) makes this our go-to place for Chinese food in the area. Perk: you get free egg rolls with your meal order and it’s owned by a woman. Woohoo!

Quality food, nice size servings. General Tsao chicken too sweet. We even asked for spicy. Other dishes purchased were OK

Bill and Harry’s is a stone’s throw from our place, and I read lots of good Unilocal reviews so we thought we’d try this Chinese place out first. We’ve had it twice in the past month … the first time was the first meal in our brand-new house. We had sesame chicken, General Tso’s chicken, pork fried rice, fried chicken wings and an eggroll. We were very happy with everything. I expected the chicken wings to be full-sized, but I got the little drummies instead. Not a big deal. My husband LOVES a good eggroll and Bill and Harry’s eggroll really knocked it out of the park. My brother was helping us move so we included him in our dinner order, and he commented that our dad would probably come visit from Hudson County just to have some of this food. We ordered from them again a few nights ago when we didn’t feel like cooking dinner for ourselves. We got the sesame chicken, eggroll and pork fried rice again, plus an order of spare ribs. And again, everything was really good. I’m giving it four stars instead of five because it’s really expensive for Chinese food. The first order was $ 40 and the second was $ 30, and the cans of soda I ordered with them weren’t even free(most places seem to offer free soda, eggrolls or soup once you hit $ 10 – 15). I know that you need to pay for good quality, but it’s still a bit overpriced. But if that’s what it takes to get a good Chinese food meal once every few weeks then so be it. I am sure we’ll be ordering from here again, most likely exclusively.

Wow!!! I was in the mood for some Chinese food, and after reading the reviews, and deciding that I wouldn’t mind picking up(it’s less than a mile from where I am) I chose Bill and Harry’s. Well, what a treat this was. I always get chicken and broccoli when ordering from a new Chinese restaurant(it’s my yard stick for Chinese food) and this was by far the best chicken and broccoli I’ve ever had. There’s something in the sauce… it’s not your typical brown sauce, but a dark brick reddish color. It’s AMAZING. The vegetable fried rice(made with brown rice!!!) was light and all the vegetables were crunchy and cooked to perfection. I also had fried pork dumpling which were good, if a little on the salty side. This is my new go to spot for Chinese food in West Orange. I can’t wait to try some new things!!!

Bill and Harry’s looks like the typical Chinese take out place, but the food is far superior to similar looking takeout kitchens. The appetizers have all been terrific. The scallion pancakes are crispy, the cold sesame noodles have a subtle bite, and the boneless roast pork is perfectly seared on the outside and tender on the inside. Their shrimp entrees use top quality jumbo shrimp. Their chicken and broccoli is light but very flavorful. Highly recommend Bill And Harry’s for Chinese food. They do not deliver, but they do participate in
