My famliy had a pig dropped off to be processed. We were never called to pick up the pig and after 3 weeks we called to check and were told the pig was ready 1 week after it was dropped off. We picked it up Friday after Thanksgiving. We needed to pay the farmer who dropped the pig off, but had not been given any type of «weight» slip. We called to get that information guessing they would have some type of record only to be told they didnt show the pig with our name anywhere in their files, but would dig deeper, took my name and phone# and call me back. After 2 days with nothing I called. When asking about it again on the phone the girl asked a guy in the backround and after hearing him she came back and repeated what he said and it was. «We dont have time and we have a bag of paperwork here if he wants to come here and go through it he can». I repeated this to the girl on the phone to make sure I wasnt hearing things… and she said«yes» thats right… you cant come look through the bag if you want… I called and spoke to the owner«Keith Palumbo, owner» and explained to him what just happend to me on the phone. He stated that it was his son working at the Sandy Lake location that he couldnt believe he would tell a customer that. I confirmed again exactly what I heard and was told. I dont know if it was his son or not. Keith then told me that maybe that was said out of frustration because the«girls» that work up there he feels are worthless and he has to do everything., but he would find out whats going on and call me back. Which i did not need to hear and only comfirmed my feelings about their professionalism. Keith did call me back to say that they looked for the paperwork I needed for 45 minutes with no luck… and the computers had crashed so they didnt have the records I needed… never aplogized for what was said to me or how I was treated… He took the price I paid for the processing and did an «estimate» of what the pig weight would have been, but that was it… we still have no way to ensure the farmer who dropped the pig off of the actual weight of the pig before processing… The whole experience with Palumbos from start to finish was very unprofessional. I will not send anyone that way and will not be making any future purchases. I feel like the attitude is that they are doing me the favor… Keep that attitude up and see how things work out for you in the future… you cant charge premium prices and treat customers that way without it catching up with you somewhere down the road… Good luck to you in the future.
