At first I thought the other Unilocalers were having too stringent standards and took my chances as I’d just paid $ 700 to have my car repaired from contaminated gas outside Nashville as I was moving cross country. So needless to say, I wanted to save money. Wish I’d heeded the warnings as I was honestly skeeved out but too tired from dealing with car woes to bother switching. Have to agree with previous reviewers. The lobby and halls smelled funny. The cleanness of the bed was questionable. I’m a no frills gal — but I like fresh hotel rooms. If you want cheap, go for it — if you dare.

This place is an absolute shit hole. Tv doesn’t work, hair all over in the shower, two rips on the comforter, stains on the carpets, non smoking room smells like a smoking room… Do not stay here! You will regret it. I sure as hell did! I wish I could give a rating of negative 5 stars!

I actually go fairly easy on hotels, especially if they’re cheap. You’ll do all right at this one if you don’t mind ripped carpets, missing baseboards, and having to grab a maid and ask her to replace your bedding before you get in the bed. I got a super-cheapy priceline deal, and it’s right down the highway from the Memphis convention center, so that’s all right. it’s true there’s a truck stop right next door, but diesels don’t bother me, and I always bring a fan to blanket the noise when I can. The air unit is new and works fine. The carpet’s a bit torn up by the door, but it looks cleaner than the Motel 6 where I stayed last night in Springfield, MO. Now the fun part. When I went into my first room, I noticed the doors to all the rooms were propped open. The cable guys were working, and had left a couple of things lying around, and in fact left the TV on in my room. I checked around to make sure no one was staying in it, then checked the bed. The sheets looked clean, the comforter(which I never, ever use) had some old stains on it, but the box spring and mattress looked new, and no sign of bedbugs. But as I lifted the mattress, lo and behold, I find two sex toys lying right in the middle of the box springs. Somebody’ll doubtless be missing those tonight. So I asked for another room. This one was similar to the last, but I found three three-inch long thin black hairs between the sheets. So I grabbed the maid and had her change them. This is one of those«we change the bedding every other day to save water» type places(there’s a convenient lie if I’ve ever heard one), and even though they’re supposed to clean when somebody checks out of a room, I never trust these places. So in general, cheap means you’re gonna have to do a bit more legwork to make sure you get a clean room. As it is, I’m set. Now they just need to stay out of my room for the next four days and I’ll be fine. Just toss me in some towels. Now go away. Thank you.

We drove from California to Maryland and back, and this was by far the worst motel we stayed in. The only positive thing I can say about this motel is that the guy at the front desk was friendly. The whole place was questionable in terms of cleanliness, the bed and pillows were super hard and lumpy. We both woke up with terrible allergies; at first I thought it was maybe that a cat had been there before, since it’s a pet-friendly motel, but the only thing my boyfriend is allergic to is dust mites, and from the strength of his reaction it must have been a MASSIVE infestation. The included breakfast was the same stuff you get at any Super 8, but more stale. To top it off, they randomly charged us an extra $ 20 later after we were back in CA.(We did nothing to damage the room. We went to sleep almost immediately after arriving, woke up and had breakfast downstairs and then got back on the road.) We spent 2 hours on the phone and they couldn’t even tell us what the charge was for. Finally they said they’d call us back, and then after another hour later on they took the charge off. We still never learned what we were being charged for. Creepy business practices much?

Never before have I thought that I would need to ask«Can I see the room?» in the US. Wow. This place was horrible! I was on a road trip, and stayed at a nice Super 8 in Ohio the night before. I figured that they would all be the same, but no, I was very, very, VERY wrong. The first room I was given had a heater that blew air, but didn’t heat. So I went back down to the front desk and got another room. In the next room, the heater element worked, but it the fan didn’t blow air. In the third room I was given, there was a very large, questionable stain(blood, maybe?) in the middle of the floor, but the heater worked. This was very important, as it was winter. So I settled into my bed, watched«Piranha» through the static on the TV, and dozed off to the prattle of 18-wheelers idling the the parking lot of the giant truck stop that my window faced. Oh yeah… did I mention that ALL of the rooms I was given faced a huge truck stop? Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
