Oh my. This is the first time here since the restaurant changed from Pine Garden. Not good at all I’m sorry to say. The food lacked any flavor. One dish claimed to be in a spicy and tangy sauce, but I would call it bland and boring – and way over the top on the use of celery. I feel I was taken. What a waste of $ 35.00, should have had Safeway Chinese instead.

I get take out pretty regularly, but I always get the same thing. I think their walnut shrimp is fantastic. This being said, the other dishes I’ve tried have only been mediocre. But certainly not bad.

Friendly service, food not so great. Poor quality of chicken. Would rather have the Chinese food from Safeway.

We were hopeful when we decided on dinner tonight. I will say that the service was very good. The food, however, was lacking We had to ask for chop sticks. We ordered steamed pot stickers and it seems that perhaps they were boiled rather than steamed. A lot of water came out after biting into the first one. We also had to ask for hot oil as they didn’t come with the traditional dipping sauces. The Kung Pao chicken(listed on the menu as spicy) was utterly bland with not a pepper in sight! The beef with snow peas looked beautiful, with bright green, crunchy pea pods. Again, the seasoning was lacking. We certainly won’t be returning and I must say that I will be adding some zip to the leftovers before eating them. For the price, this was a huge disappointment.

Great for inexpensive Chinese food! The sweet and sour pork and chicken were very lightly and crispy fried, and all the other dishes we had were good(happy family, pork fried rice, beef and broccoli, beef chow mein, etc). This isn’t mind-blowing food, but I thought it was really quite well-executed for this style of fairly-Americanized Chinese food.

I had been to the previous place Pine Garden a few times, and thought it was ok but nothing special. So I tried this place and after walking in it looked exactly like Pine Garden. The service was good, but I ordered the Kung Poa Chicken. It didn’t have the dark color most places have for sauce it was more like a light brown gravy. I ate about 5 bites and couldn’t eat any more. The chicken felt undercooked and many pieces were fatty. I won’t be going back, but will give it an extra star because the staff was nice.

The food and service was excellent! We ordered the sampler appetizer which was plenty for two people. It included fried chicken, fried shrimp, crab Rangoon, eggrolls, and barbecued pork. I had Mongolian beef(yummy) and pork fried rice, which was very fresh tasting and delicious. It is off the beaten path on the way to Portland, but it’s worth a side trip!

Overall this was disappointing. First the good news. The staff was prompt and attentive. The pot stickers were fine, but the sauce was just sweet soy sauce. No mixins were offered to improve the taste. It goes downhill. The General’s chicken was over cooked in a sticky sweet sauce. The egg foo young was not home made and the pork was served in chicken gravy on top of odd green patties. Finally the food was slow to arrive. Alas I have not yet found a decent Chinese restaurant close to home.

We have been here five times now and have really enjoyed it. The service has been very good and so is the food. It has never been very busy when we have gone there which I attribute to the location. My daughter is hooked on chicken fried rice. I think it is ok, but for a 14 year old that likes carbs, it hits the spot. I like the chicken and green beens. The Crab puffs are tasty and so are the pot stickers that are a good appetizer. Overall the food is great for the price and location. That is why I give 5 stars. Surely there are much better places with better ambiance, but for what I consider a borderline hole in the wall, you cant go wrong.

Great food, Great service, Great prices! BBQ pork appetizer — was not tough. Sesame chicken(not breaded) was flavorful, not rubbery. A prior review mentioned the pork chop suey, which I also had. I agree it could have had a little more flavoring. But, unlike the prior review, mine had plenty of meat and wasn’t watery. Definitely reasonable prices. Waitstaff went out of her way to describe meals. She was super nice and helpful. Cheerfully accommodated special requests.

Finally decided to give this place a try. We’ve been going to Pine Garden for years and enjoyed it. We hoped this place would be better but sad to say it wasn’t. I would give 4 stars for customer service and 2 stars for food… thus, the 3 star rating. Lady who took my order over the phone was super polite and very thorough. And when I met her at the restaurant to pick up my food, she was very nice and provided amazing customer service. For the food, we ordered spring rolls(too greasy and veges inside were tough), beef and broccoli(very good!), crispy chow mean(pretty good, noodles stuck together, though and a little tough), sweet and sour chicken(not good — no chicken, all batter), pork chop suey(not good — mainly bean sprouts, no seasoning, sauce super watery). I sooo hoped this place would be at least as good as Pine Garden but the chefs need to season their food better on some items and prepare them properly.

This new restaurant is a fabulous find! Tonight’s special is Mango Prawns with Snow Peas. The fresh cut mango and butterfly prawns are glazed with fresh sweet mango sauce, never had this anywhere else. The chow mein is so flavorful they must have a gift for making the right blend of flavors. The portions are very large, so arrive hungry! A bit hard to find, since they are brand new. They are Hidden away at the far end, near Bank of America.
