Horrible place. My advice is to stay far far away. Sears isn’t even a real company anymore, since being bought out in 2005. I think it’s gone between being owned by Walmart and Kmart’s parent companies. Their products are crappy, especially the«Kenmore» branded items. The 3-year-old refrigerator we inherited from our previous homeowner had an electrical fire while we were away. The 5-year-old washing machine was a nightmare of electrical dysfunction. Sears service is awful. Their installers are the worst I’ve ever experienced. My husband bought a garage door opener, the installer was not competent and unable to install it, and tried to guilt my husband into giving him money«since Sears won’t pay me since I wasn’t able to install it.» My husband was able to install it the next day, simply by reading the manual. Their prices are also ridiculous, often marked up 50% over MSRP. I avoid this place like the plague now, as does pretty much everyone else. It seems like the only reason Sears even exists anymore is to prey on isolated rural elderly people who are out-of-the-loop. Best to check other more reputable stores, and if they don’t have something, just order it online from a reputable seller.

I purchased a refrigerator from Sears in West Lebanon about 3 months ago. The purchase experience was good but the install was horrible. The guys who installed the fridge and the ice maker connection had no idea what they what doing and left me with a slow leaking connection. When I spoke with Sears they said they could send another crew in a week, The delivery guys also left with the toe kick of the refrigerator. I attempted to have Sears Delivery, Sears Parts, and the West Lebanon store manager order the part. Each organization said they did it but it never came(3 months at this point). When I talked the store manager he told me that the delivery group was a 3rd party company and that Sears had no control. I suggested that I should buy appliances at Best Buy or Home Depot. His answer was that those stores used the same delivery group, While this may be true, my experience with Best Buy and Home Depot is that if there is a problem they stand behind what they sell whether or not a 3rd party is involved. Sears clearly could care less. It’s a shame because many of Sears branded appliances are the best in class, but as an organization they cannot deliver even an acceptable customer experience. I need now to seek out the regional store manager to see if he/she cares. Doubt it, My advice is that if you can’t put in your trunk and install yourself buy it elsewhere.

I purchases a washer and dryer at Sears in West Lebanon — about $ 1500. The purchase experience was good — but that’s where it ended. The delivery experience was a disaster. I was literally blown off by the delivery guys after I drove 2 ½ hours to meet them and waited several hours during my confirmed window. They called me 30 minutes AFTER the 2 hour window asking me if I still wanted them to come(It was now 7PM on a Saturday). Since I drove 2 ½ hours from Boston to meet them, I said«of course!» They said they’d be here in 10 minutes. After another 45 minutes and a few calls back and forth they finally said, «it’s too late, you’ll have to reschedule». Click. I called back and he said the same thing. Click. So now my blood’s boiling. Of course I couldn’t get Sears Delivery on the phone — waited on hold forever. I also couldn’t get the W Lebanon store to answer their phone. So I got in the car and drove to the store to let them know about the smug punk that wouldn’t deliver and hung up on me. Cancelled the order. Wasted day. 5 hours of driving. $ 100 in gas. Will never go there again. Unfortunately I still need a washer and dryer.

The last two times I’ve been in to shop it has been a lesson in futility when it comes to getting service. I actually stood in the store and called the store and asked for a sales person and watched him fumble the call and hang up on me. If you are not making a large ticket purchase don’t expect anyone to be walking around seeing if patrons are being helped or finding what they need. LISTENUPSEARS — IFTHEREISANYOTHEROPTIONTHANYOURSTORE… I TAKEIT, &so do a lot of other people.
