This is a go-to stop for my friends and I on half days after school. $ 20 for all you can eat sushi among other dishes, this is an AMAZING value. Like other reviewers have said, the restaurant may appear unappealing on the outside, however inside it is beautifully authentically decorated and surprisingly very clean. The food, no matter what you get is incredible. I’ve tried many many sushi rolls and some other dishes like General Tso’s Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, their Wonton and Miso Soup, ect, ect. It’s all amazing, I highly recommend the T.N.T Roll. It’s a house special roll that is incredibly tasty. You even get to see Mr. Zhuang prepare the sushi in traditional garb sometimes, which is an awesome sight. However, this excellent cuisine comes at some cost. The service is very subpar, which I will not entirely fault the staff for considering their inability to speak English very well. They can be hard to understand but you can tell they are doing their best. The food may take a little bit depending on what time of day it is and how many people are there. There is also occasionally a small child there? Maybe the owner’s son? But he can be slightly obnoxious from time to time. Another large turn-off is that the tips go directly to the owner and not the waiters/waitresses. This is a little distasteful but I would assume many employees are family members so it’s not like they’re screwing over random people off the street. Anyhow, the the presentation and food are enough to offset a difficult serving experience. Overall 4⁄5 is a healthy rating.

The food here is amazing! The service truly sucks! Omg They are sooooo slow! I swore I would never come here again after my first time because of how horrible the service was but the food is so amazing that I put up with it! Lol… Don’t let the building discourage you from stopping in. The place is clean inside and like I said food is amazing and worth the wait!

Best sushi in Berks County! I can’t talk about the other types they offer but their Dream Roll melts in your mouth. We only order take out. My only suggestion is for them to pack some extra sauce automatically. Love them!

Used to love this place but now won’t go back. Ordered my usual cold sesame noodles and a shrimp tempura roll. The lettuce on top of the noodle was ROTTEN. Unfortunately I took a bite before realizing. Just… disgusting. The tempura on the shrimp was crumbly, I’m guessing it wasn’t fried long enough. The whole experience was so stomach turning I can’t give them another chance.

WARNING: DONOTEATHERE! Me and my dad both got food poisoning from this place last week. We’ve both been sick for 3 days. We ate the sushi. I was a long time customer, but will never eat here again. Also heard from a neighbor that they got food poisoning from here. They should be shut down!

Fail of advertising. They say they have all you can eat. But on mothers day it failed to deliver. Not coming here again. The food is second rate anyways. Slowest waiters you will find in the Reading area.

Best sushi for the $ that I’ve found anywhere. Rainbow roll is very good. The Sushi Sashimi Combo is also a great deal.

When I used to live in Wyomissing, Zhuang’s Garden was, without a doubt, my go-to sushi joint. Most of my friends opted for the more«trendy» spots in town, but there was just something about Zhuang’s and its muted, humdrum outward appearance on Penn Avenue that gave it a certain quaint charm. Once inside, you’ll be greeted with a smiling, Asian woman and a large, eccentric fountain. This fountain replaces a giant fish tank(although the fish still remain in the pool of the fountain). Sushi-wise, this place has your standard selection of sashimi and nigiri, as well as a roster of a whopping THIRTY special rolls. In addition to the raw offerings, there is a full Chinese, Japanese, and Thai menu. Basically, if you have a hankering for Asian food, this is your one-stop shop. Service can be spotty at times, but the staff is friendly and polite. And of course, the real selling point of this place is the quality of food. If you want fresh and full of flavor(or FaFoF, an awkward acronym I just made up), then Zhuang’s will not disappoint.

This is the place to go if you are in the mood for sushi! They have all you can eat sushi for lunch for $ 13 and $ 26 for dinner. If you just want one sushi roll instead of a all you can eat, try the volcano roll. It’s delicious.

Great food, no matter what you order! It’s better when you eat in but that really goes for all delivery places. All you can eat sushi seems like a good deal but only if you are REALLY going to eat a ton, otherwise it’s better just to order what you really want. It may look like a dive but it’s one of the best Chinese/Sushi places in the area!

Good sushi, but a tad expensive. For the price of buying rolls for dinner, I might as well just go out somewhere else.

Visited on Sunday, 2−23−14. Exterior — It snowed a lot the past few weeks, so there were tons of snow piled up in the parking lot. Parking properly was out of the question, but then again, same goes for every restaurant in the region. The exterior made it seem like its some cheap place with low quality food. It’s location isn’t the best either, but then again, I don’t care too much about the exterior of the place I’m eating at. Interior — Okay décor, with all the typical Asian stuff. Nothing really special. There were about 15 tables? Lighting was good, music was mellow with new and popular Asian music. Tables were clean, but the dishes were a bit small, but then again, sushi doesn’t require a big plate. Also, it would have been better if the tables were a bit bigger, we had to keep adjusting the plates and shift things around just to fit a couple plates. But overall, no big deal. Service — Very nice staff. Waitress helped us order, and was VERY patient with us. There was only one waitress and one sushi chef at the time, so things took a little longer and sometimes she’ll forget an order or a spoon. Not really a problem for us. The itamae(sushi chef) is the MAN! Crafted some of the best sushi I’ve had. Now the thing to note about each sushi place is that, depending who you get as your itamae, you’ll experience will vary, BIGTIME even in the same restaurant. But this guy, probably the owner, was ONPOINT! He walked our orders over, and explained to us all the sushi we ordered. Perfect! Side note: When ordering from an AYCE sushi place, its all about the hooper system. TAKEADVANTAGEOFTHAT! Overall, a great group of people. Food — All 8 of us had the AYCE @ $ 29 per person. It was well worth it. Food came out perfect! If you’re really a fan of sushi, then this is the place you should try. Sushi rice was good and not extremely cold, the meat was fresh both in looks and taste. The craft and creative rolls were all delicious. Alligator roll was probably my favorite. We tried everything on they’re menu, although some didn’t fly to well with my taste buds, my family and friends seemed to love the ones I didn’t. One thing that probably shocked me the most was the Salmon Sushi Pizza. ITWASAMAZING! Try it! It definitely wasn’t traditional, but it was something new, and delicious. Overall, my experience here was great. Almost everything about this place was to my liking. I would definitely recommend and will visit again,(if ever I’m in this area again).

We ordered take out from here for the first time the other night. I could not understand the person who answered the phone at all, but they could understand me it was just a little confusing at first trying to give them my address, and card number. My order was correct and delivered to the right house so what more could i ask for? We had General Tso’s chicken, Crab Rangoon, Spring Rolls(Chinese, not sushi), and a Volcano Roll. Everything was very good and I would order from here again. The food took a little over 40 minutes to get here but it was a Friday not and not optimal weather/driving conditions with all the snow. The Crab Rangoon is not the best I have had but it was still satisfying.

I’m baffled by the positive reviews here. Berks county continues to confuse me with their restaurant selections. So far it seems to be an emphasis on quality over quantity and this place is no exception. Now, my husband made me promise I’d review all sides of this place since our orders came from two different menus; Thai and Chinese. First the good: Chinese. He had the sesame chicken. It is really good. The sauce is thick and flavorful; one of the best I’ve had. The portion size is good. Now the bad: Thai While the won-ton soup isn’t considered Thai, I’m including it here because it was part of my order. How can you mess up won-ton soup? It looked like it was swimming in pee after you take your vitamins. There was nothing to this broth. Terrible. Next I had the chicken and pineapple fried rice. I won’t say too much bad about that because it was pretty decent, but it could use a little more seasoning. And the worst for last; pad thai. Oh my goodness this had to be one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten. The noodles were pink, but not from sauce. It actually looks like they just bought pink noodles. It was the most flavorless pad thai dish I’ve ever had. If you blindfolded me and asked me what I was eating I would never have been able to tell you. It was really just plain rice noodles with a little bit of bean sprouts. Period. That’s it. They should stop pretending that they have Thai and just focus on chinese. Oh, and the place is filthy. I’ll never go back. My husband might, but I won’t.
