I have gone here for years, and I just love this place! It’s so much fun and all the cooks there are so friendly and nice. I always go to the Hibachi Grill and get a combo of salmon and the steak with the noodles(the noodles are a must!). The sushi there isn’t too bad either they have expanded their sushi menu a lot lately!

Due to the lack of competition of good Teppan style restaurants, I am left with Teppanyaki, the food is good, the service is good, the atmosphere is fine, the restaurant seems clean, I find them to be a little pricey for what they are, given the choice I would go to The Last Samurai which was superior in all those categories and more reasonable pricing, unfortunately they did not survive the recession(depression).

The show was great, and the chef was fantastic with my three year old. He asked first about how she’d do with the fire before just lighting things up, and even let her try the shrimp toss. The food was a little pricey for what you get, but I suppose part of that is paying for the show. I’d go back for special occasions, but I wouldn’t say it’s somewhere to go on a regular basis. I personally found it fun to sit with another family, but I can see how that’d be off putting for some people.

A less expensive version of Benihana. Had a really good experience here, will definitely come again. Egg rolls were good, my rib eye was yummy, and hubby enjoyed his filet mignon and shrimp.

Both my ribeye and my niece’s New York steak were über tender, flavorful and delicious. Enjoyed the salad, as well. The soup was, well, chicken consommé infused with oniony flavor. Delicious, nonetheless. Had a good time, enjoyed the shrimp toss, which I successfully caught in my mouth twice, and was pleased with the great service. Can’t wait to dig into the left overs!

This place sucks!!! Poor quality food for the price. Your hustled in and out, they give you your check before your food is even cooked! The employees are rude and talk down to you. Never go here!!!

Blah and boring anymore. The staff is cold and unfriendly. It’s like a mad house there to shuffle you in and then get you or just as fast as possible. I think their quality has suffered in the most recent years.

Well I just want you to know I’m done and will never eat at your restaurant again. Poor management and in considerate ownership has ruined my view on what use to be a good restaurant.

I had a terrible experience eating here. The chefs were lackluster at best, and unfriendly. The manager was INCREDIBLY rude. It cost a lot of money to eat here, and the food was sub par. I have eaten at many other restaurants like this one, however, won’t be returning to this location. Save yourself and your wallet the trouble.

Their owner Katie is selfish and uncaring towards her customers. As I was dining last Friday I witnessed her treat a family who’s son had an unexpected medical emergency while dining like dirt. She was worried about who would pay for their uneaten food and how his«outburst» was affecting customers, instead of the mans well being. Clearly he needed to get to a hospital ASAP! The way she spoke with this poor distraught grandmother was heartbreaking. So maybe try Benihana instead? The food is not worth supporting such an unkind person. Her attitude ruined my week and we will never go back.

Awful customer service! Food was tasteless; and for the price, I can’t believe they are still open. Don’t waste your time!

Last night I was there for a graduation dinner. probably about two bites into our meal my brother had a seizure. As my brother, mom and dad are already in the amblance on their way to the hospital. The waiter grabs my grandma and askes who is going to be paying for the bill. Not wanting to spend anymore time there she paid for the 350.00 dollar meal that we didn’t even start to eat. Today my grandma decided to give them a call to see if they were aware about the payment for the meals we did not eat and to suggest some things about their protocal in that situatuion. The lady got super defensive and told her that what had happened was not their fault so we should’ve had to pay and that my brother having a seizure was very disruptive to their restraunt and she had to go around and apologize to each individual table. Well after that my mom decided to give the manager a call. Being as respectful as she could be she explained how disappointed she was about how things were handled and what was said to my grandma. The response she got back was that if my family would never come back again it would not hurt her business. To top it all off she went on to say that nobody wanted to see the seizure and that it was very upsetting to her and everyone else in the restraunt and that it caused them to be behind the whole rest of the night. As if someone can control when they are going to have a seizure. Needless to say we will never be attending this place again thanks to Katie being a wonderful manager/person.

The quality of food served is no where near the price that you pay. The chicken that was served was not chicken breast, but some«mystery meat» that they mix in as if you don’t notice watching them cook it in front of you — disgusting! Paid $ 165 for a meal for 6 people to leave on their plates! The cook had zero personality and acted as if he was put out to be there. Won’t EVER go there again!!!

So the guy who created tempanyaki style was obviously Japanese, and he had some of these restaurants set up in Japan, but the locals weren’t big fans. He found the restaurants mostly to be filled with local businessmen treating out foreign clients. So he decided to play up the entertainment aspects more and that became the whole basis for his business. The food was secondary. Keeping that in mind, that explains the food. You go here with children or a grandparent’s birthday who still thinks the idea of running into an Asian person is humorous and exotic. You’ll sit awkwardly next to another couple who probably take their kids there twice a month, and you’ll spend $ 25 dollars for fried rice and tons of fried meats. Not really my bag personally. But it’s not bad. I ordered sushi, because I’m lame. And I never catch the shrimp in my mouth.

I loved our cooked. Lol, even though he seemed like a serious guy who also looks rude, but he’s actually funny. His name is tommy. He made us laughed the whole time. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki which was $ 18. I think. First they serve you some miso type soup, which I thought tasted more like chicken broth. Then comes the salad, i dont know what dressing they used but it was delicious! That’s when the cook started cooking the vegetables and noodles. And oh my god! Love love the noodles it was so good! That’s all I could think about lol as I was eating. Plus he gave me like a whole plate of chicken. Awesome cook!

There may not be many of these in the Salt Lake area, or maybe there are. But if you’ve ever been to a Benihana, there’s not much to surprise you here. That said, there is more emphasis on sushi here as well as teppanyaki, so I guess there is a little variation for a kind of one-stop-shopping effect. The staff was still polite and courteous considering there was quite a crowd, and we did have to wait about 30 minutes. But you can kill time at the sushi bar with a drink and some sushi as an appetizer. I didn’t think the ‘show’ was quite as good as some other places I’ve been to, but it is still kind of fun. Ideally I would have liked a little more meat or vegetables considering the price. The soup and rice don’t exactly make me want to pay much more, and they did forget the order of rice I asked for unfortunately. Still, this kind of place has potential to grow better since it doesn’t look like there’s much competition in the area.

This place happened to be a friend of mine’s favorite birthday dinner location, and I visited this location at least once a year for many years now. Similar to the nationwide chain that does teppanyaki, you have the option of sushi only, teppanyaki only, or both. They got a small area for sushi only near the bar. The sushi here had been«meh», never had much good experience with them in the past. I generally just stick with teppanyaki since you come with a party anyway. Everything runs at an average of $ 20−30/person, and you do not get much to eat, but the price included the cooking performance. I usually stick with filet mignon and scallops combinations, since they are on my safe list. Word of caution during their fire onion performance is not leaning your face forward as flames can blow any directions. I never was psych about catching shrimp with your mouth, which made you dog-like… For food, I would never visit Tepanyaki, but for dating, I can see this place being a potential spot with the entertainment and cultural value.
