Cafe Rio

Food will be just as good as any Café Rio but you will wait for it. I’ve been to this location three times, currently standing in line for my fourth and they are consistently painfully slow. Drive out of your way and go to another location. It will be faster.

They are very slow with pick up orders. Typically they run 15 – 20 minutes late even if you schedule it 45 – 60 minutes ahead of time. The employees don’t seem to care about delays are rarely check orders before giving them to you. Make sure you double check that you received what you ordered.

Worst location ever. I’ve been here multiple times thinking that it will be better. They are so slow ever time. Have mixed up my order. Told us they don’t take this free meal thing on their app in Utah, when we know they do accept it in Utah because we had used it at the fort Union location. They don’t know what they’re talking about. The staff is also very unfriendly and made us wait forever.
I won’t ever eat at this location again.

Yum burritos! They have meat! Great story so my husband was chatting up a deputy in the long line and the Great deputy was telling him of his long hours because they’re so short of help. My husband thanked him for his service. When my husband got up to pay the server told him it was Already paid for! I would personally like to thank this deputy
for All his services! We don’t appreciate them enough for all you do! Love our law enforcement!

I went to this location and i can say this is the worst location that café rio has the place is dirty, the food is cool and old. My wife got the last of the steak for her tacos and they tasted chewy. There was no steak left for my order, no more rice, beans, steak, gucamole.
Maybe there was no food because the employees were standing around. if the supervisor will due her job instead of texting we will have a great café rio in west jordan

Been here 3 times did online orders all times and waited over 20 minutes after I arrived. Got different excuses every time! Thought the third time would be a charm. Most frustrating part was we purchased movie tickets for a 7:15 movie, had out meal scheduled to be picked up (or «promised time» as it says on the receipt) at 6:45 plenty of time to eat there and go to the movie. We didn’t get our food till 7:20. Missed out movie and had to purchase tickets AGAIN and for a later time!
Update: Called and talked to the manager about why service was so poor and she gave me the excuse that it’s a new location and new employees. But then said they’re hiring new people and people quit. Literally just pointed fingers everywhere she could. Will not be going to this location any longer! She offered to refund but the meals were free because we had free meal cards. So literally nothing was done! Very disappointed.

This was my first time trying Café Rio and it was better than I expected! I’ve always just had chipotle so I wasn’t sure if it would compare. But once I tried it I realized that their sweet pork salad is amazing. It was great to see that they made their tortilla in house and hand made. Being able to see them make it while we waited in line was a great touch.
Although the serving area was a bit messy around the food, it is understandable because they were extremely busy. They gave me a a hefty portion of food and were not stingy. I would definitely go back but not during rush hour.

The food was good. Poorly managed! Need to work on their customer service skills!

Café Rio has slipped a bit in the last several years but I still enjoy most of the locations and the majority of the food. This new location in Jordan Landing is in a decent spot but could be slightly larger. The layout in this location is a bit different from other locations and seems friendlier to larger groups. The service is a little slow and the food is a little hit and miss but I hope this is just them working out the kinks of the new location.

This is the worst Café Rio anywhere. I tried them when they first opened, and they got everything wrong that they could get wrong. They were rude, gave bad information, the food was lousy, overcharged, you name it!
Now we tried again. And again they got everything wrong. The place is very poorly managed. We will never come back.

This is my first time at this location and my last! I thought with it being new it would be clean and professional like other locations. However I was wrong ! I waited in line for 15 minutes! Not only was the wait unacceptable so was the kitchen! Cleaners and dirty rags stored by where they are making tortillas, food everywhere, garbage a overflowing, very unhappy employees there just so angry, no customer service at all. The area where they prepare your food is filthy my tortilla touched I asked for a new tortilla and was given a attitude then the employee grabbed a filthy rag to wipe down the area and then went to prepare my other burrito with out changing gloves! I asked her to change her gloves! There are flys flying around where they are cutting raw meat ! Food is under every appliance. In the fridge located in the front by the condiments has orange peels and garbage inside with shredded cheese! Save yourself the disaster and drive to the Taylorsville location! I’m extremely disappointed I was so excited that that there is a new one close! See pictures!

This location is just awful. Sat in line as two young employees argued over who was going to take my order. I was the second in line and it took 20 minutes to put my order in. The cleanliness of the place is an issue as well.

Café Rio lovers, I highly suggest that you AVOID THIS LOCATION. The food tastes fine but the service is probably the worst out of any location I’ve ever been to.
They gave me two strips of chicken in my burrito… ok that’s exaggerating, it was probably five strips. After I saw that I decided to pay for extra meat which made it the normal amount you’d receive at any other location. Beyond the meat, they skimp on everything else too. My friend had to tell four different people what she wanted because there was no communication between the six teenagers that were hovering at the front of the serving line.
Hopefully they hire better people, but until that happens, I’ll be making the extra 10 minute drive to the South Jordan location if I ever crave Café Rio.

That breeze of fresh air you feel flowing through Jordan Landing is the new Café Rio located in the parking lot of Target. The modern design of the new location and the friendly staff makes this my location of choice. I have had multiple issues with my orders over the years at various Café Rio locations, and they always seemed to fall on deaf ears. I thought I had another such incident on my hands when after I ordered over $ 500 worth of catering, my catering rewards card did not work. With it being a fairly new promotion the manager didn’t know much about how it worked. Frustrated I paid for the meals and sat down. Minutes later the manager came to our table and told us he had the catering manager on the phone to get it straightened out. I can’t express how refreshing it is to have this kind of customer service when he could have easily left the issue for us to deal with. I won’t go to any other location but this one!

When I heard of the new Café Rio I had to stop in and check it out. The place is very clean and the service is superb. I visited late at night after 830 almost 9 and was still welcomed. I ended up getting a salad and it was made exceptionally well. Everything was to the standard of the other Café Rios and I will definitely be a regular at this location since it is so close by now.

I love Café Rio, but this location was by far, the most hectic and disorganized one I’ve been too!
Usually, I have 2 people tops, working on my order. I had 4 different people touch my taco salad which made it crazy and in the end, my bf and I didn’t get all the toppings we wanted. The bf got the burrito enchiladas style so it goes into the oven. His order got mixed up with someone else’s which made for a more confusing ordeal.
I also noticed that they a bit stingy with the food. I got the smallest scoop of rice and meat in my salad that I’ve experienced at a Café Rio. I personally like the Draper location better.
In the end, our food was still delicious. But I’d much rather go to a different location where I don’t feel like confused and hectic ordering my food.

Finally a Café Rio in Jordan Landing. This has been long awaited in this area. This new store is clean and modern and much less like waiting in line for a Disneyland ride than the older locations around the valley. The food is the same and that’s a good thing.

I’m honestly a little disappointed, my fiancé and I LOVE Café Rio so we were SO excited when we saw that they were putting one right by our house! It’s such a great location! So we got the dishes we get literally every single time. Unfortunately it seemed like the black beans were way undercooked. Of course it was still edible… but the beans were a complete turn off. I can’t really pin point why it tasted so different this time but even my fiancé (who NEVER complains about food) said that his food was not as good as it usually is. but we’re hoping it gets better with time. Maybe since its new everyone just needs to get in the groove of everything…

I really like this new Café Rio. The location in Jordan Landing is really nice. The layout of the restaurant is also better at this location than others, very easy to move around in and the seating isn’t to clustered. The brand new staff were all very pleasant, and up to speed which is great considering they just opened.
My go to dish is still the pork salad with house ranch dressing. It is to die for, and I crave it all the time. Pretty much anything you get here is delicious, the nachos and burritos are some of my other favorites.
I also love that they have a huge drink bar, with tons of selection. Their horchata is actually pretty good too, better than most fast food horchata. They also have syrups to add to the sodas, I like cherry with my Diet Dr. Pepper.

Love the new design concept for this store. A much needed update!
Cute outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade help with the small size and the popularity.
Other than that, it’s classic café rio and doesn’t disappoint.
