WORSTVENUEEVER!!! The people here were so rude. I got lost and arrived a few mins late and they resold my tickets and refused to give me a refund(and blamed it on me). That means they made more than double the profit from my tickets. If it’s a «first come, first serve policy», why the heck are you going to sale tickets online prior to the event? I bought my tickets ahead of time to be assured that I have a reserved spot for my friends and myself. This doesn’t even sound legal. I tried calling the day after the event, and of course nobody is answering. I didn’t even get to see the show. Cheap, shady business crooks. You guys are a joke!

I’ve been to The Comedy Store on several occasions. I’ve never seen a bad show here. There are three venues within the building. It gets crowded and the line for tickets can be intimidating. If you have tickets already, know that you can bypass that line of masses outside and go in the main door. Saw the 10pm show last night, we were running late and got there at 9:55 had no problem getting right in and seated before the show started. There is no valet which is kind of a bummer. There is a parking structure right next store where you can park for $ 16. Folks are friendly and attentive to detail and willing to help. Service is slow during a show, but there are not a lot of waitresses working for as crowded as it gets. Don’t get impatient-just order two drinks If you are worried about the wait prices are standard for drinks, 2 drink minimum like for all comedy clubs. They do serve food, although I have never ordered any. It’s your typical fried snack situation. 4 stars instead of 5 because the bathroom is sometimes a bit dirty/understocked in the main stage.

Like most others my only complaint is the service. Not that our waitress was bad but that she took so long… There’s strong chance I would have ordered more drinks if they came quicker. Great show last night. Dane cook was the headliner but Joe rogan stole the show! Shout out to Dale as well, got us laughing from the start!

Had a really good time, great show featuring Dane Cook and other good comedians. Overall thoughts: inexpensive, price per drink is reasonable so the 2 drink minimum seems fair, no opinion about the food since I didn’t have any, good atmosphere. Seating a bit tight, but ok(for general admission you share a small table with four people). Friendly service, but it takes some time to get drinks since they have to take 5 – 6 people’s orders at a time. Buying Front of the Line seating isn’t worth it if you’re going into Main Room and get there early(we got there at 6:30 I think).

Service is horrible! I asked for a waitress and she said«I have too many people» okay send another waitress! My whole mood is blown. The person I came to see is on stage now. I’ll be drinking and eating somewhere else.

Great Comedy club. Legendary comics have come through those doors and performed on the main stage. The other night, I saw Dane Cook and Daniel Tosh kill it. The whole experience was perfect. I highly recommend this club over any in the area.

Came here to see Dane Cook and ended up also seeing Daniel Tosh as a special guest It was a great show and I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house considering the small size of the place. My only complaint is its hot in there and the booths seats are a little hard but, great venue for a comedy show and we will definitely be back!

To the management regarding the 10 p.m. show in the main room on ½/16: Thanks so much for graciously accommodating the idiots who arrived a full 25 minutes into the show and sat deep stage right, near the performer’s entrance, at a table the staff hurried to assemble especially for them. These«friends of the manager,» as your staff member identified them, ruined the show for everyone at the surrounding tables by talking over and above the comedians for the next hour-plus.(Ironically, when Pauly Shore asked the crowd, «Who doesn’t know who I am,» they were about the only people who clapped.) Special thanks for inviting the muscle-bound dude who hissed«shush» at people who tried to shush him and chanted«snitch» at people who complained to the staff about him. While the comedians onstage regaled us about the horrors of bullying jocks from their youth, you dropped one right into our midst! Your staff did their best, coming over several times to ask him to quiet down, but wouldn’t — or couldn’t — kick him out. At a place like Cobb’s, he would have been drawn and quartered. Because my wife and I said something to your apologetic staff, we got a free pass that’s unusable through the Internet. But none of the people around us did, although the show was just as much a bummer for them. The Comedy Store is a legendary place, but putting managers’ obnoxious friends above paying patrons on a Saturday night is truly amateur hour, Chuckle Hut stuff – not good for the otherwise respectful customers(who spent more time in our section craning their necks to see who the hell was making all the racket than watching the stage) or the comedians. A true waste of a night. At least backtrack to find out who the hell this guy was and get him off the guest list or send him to La Jolla next time.

It was the perfect evening to wrap up our very first day in 2016. The comedians were freaking hilarious! The delivery, the content, professionalism was all 1st class. We paid $ 40 for the VIP upgrade to a booth. It’s definitely worth it!

Probably the best comedy club in the country. Legendary. But the service in this place is abysmal, and it gets worse every time I go there. I’ve had it. I don’t know where they’re getting this wait staff or what’s going on, but I seriously dread going here now. If you’re going to enforce a two drink minimum, then at least get the checks to us at a reasonable time. We waited an HOUR to get our check the other night and were stuck there til 12:30.(This was in the OR too, which was only about ¾ full) Last time we saw Louie CK, about 20 of us were stuck in the main room for 40 fucking minutes AFTER the show was over because they didn’t drop the checks on time for half the room. It was 1am on a Wednesday when we got out, and the club didn’t offer anything, wouldn’t even knock a drink off the bill, tix for free shows(which they do all the time anyway, just join the email list), nothing. Like«Yeah, fuck you guys, tough shit.» Terrible. Please get your shit together.

The World Famous Comedy Store: Where Dreams Come True! .or maybe I’m just a little biased! Either way, this place hosted an event I had been waiting to see for over 10 years. So needless to say I am very excited that I was able to take part in it! Sometimes amazing acts show up with only a few days notice, so if there is a comedian you’ve always wanted to see make sure you are following them online somewhere like on Facebook so you can see where they end up randomly playing near you(that’s what happened to me!). Parking was my least favorite part of the evening, but I feel like that is something I have to blame the city of Los Angeles for, not the venue. There are two parking services and neither one were my favorite, I literally drove around twice comparing the prices! If you are driving and the Comedy Store is on your left side, the first parking area you hit before the venue says $ 12 parking… but as soon as you pull in there are several different prices on the wall and on the smaller sign it says«$ 12 for the first 3 hours». then the price goes up significantly. The one right next to the Comedy Store didn’t make things any better, advertising $ 15 parking but having the same«now that I got you in here, these are the real prices» the other issue is that they don’t take cash. So in the end I just bit the bullet and chose, I wasn’t going to let it ruin my night. It’s a decent sized venue that has front row seats basically at the front of the stage, making it more of an intimate place to see your favorite comedy acts perform. It is very laid-back, which gives you even more of a chance of interacting with your favorite people. There’s a 2 drink minimum(bottled water, coffee, tea count). I only knew that this place served coffee, tea and water thanks to the other Unilocal reviews. It’s not clearly stated on the menu. Get there early for your favorite acts, they open the doors a half hour before the show starts. Getting into the theater area is very straightforward with no chaos. A worker will bring you to your seat, so there is no fighting as to who gets the front. We were there for about 3 hours. And despite the line after the show the bathrooms were surprisingly clean! Hang around a tiny bit afterwards and you may have a chance of getting a glimpse of your favorite comedians off the stage. Maybe even a picture or two! Good luck to ya!

We had an awesome time here at The Comedy Store. Their staff were super wonderful, they really took very good care of us from buying the tickets to getting our drinks. Door entry is only $ 15 plus two drinks order(Shirley Temple counts too)! They also serve bar foods which is fantastic. We saw Bobby Lee, Kirk Fox(this guy is just hilariously funny) who by the way, has an upcoming show for 2016, and Francisco Ramos, man this guy was just way too funny and had me laughing so hard opened the show! If you enjoy being entertaned by standup comedy like me, this place is the real deal. Also if you are staying at The Grafton Sunset, it is literally a block away. A must visit for locals and visitors! Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

I have told maybe 1,000 people that this the best $ 20 you can spend in Hollywood. The entertainment is top notch, you cannot go wrong. You will see such a great mix of the seasoned and young, but it will all be great. The ORIGINALROOM is the best. But the MAINROOM is nice too, though more theatery. I prefer the divey feel of the original room. The Manhattans are hideous but you are not here for a mixology experience. If you have any doubt, just go, and in 2 hours, your face will hurt.

We went to see a friend perform in The Original Room. The fact that you have to order two drinks at one time is annoying because if its a drink with ice the second drink gets all watery and for the price they charge that is crazy. I probably would not go again because I don’t like all of the cigarette smoke.

I think I like the Laugh Factory better. We went to the Main Room to see a pretty good lineup. We sat in booths on the side and had a great time. We found parking at a meter but I think the lots in the area will cost you around 16 – 20 bucks. 2 drink minimum and they won’t allow you to use food as a drink substitute but will let you use water. Regardless, tickets were 20 bucks each plus around 20 more bucks for your two(crappy) drinks. Meh, I think it would be worth it If you got cheaper tickets on goldstar or something.

In busy Hollywood, awful/expensive parking, discounted tickets if you’re looking in the right places, no AC, two drink minimum at decent prices, smart service, and a toss up of comedic acts. Since the Comedy Store is located in Hollywood one would have to account for traffic and parking when considering this venue. We went on a Sunday night to see Whitney Cummings. The show was at 8:00 p.m. but we arrived at 7:30 p.m. to pick up our tickets and get decent seats. We were able to find parking right next door for $ 20 which looked to be about the standard rate and if you so happen to find a better deal you might want to check the fine print. Some parking lots have $ 10 for the first hour and $ 20 thereafter and so forth. Tickets were listed on site for $ 16 at the Comedy Store website but we went to GoldStar and found some comp tickets for $ 5 which I think is a steal. There was absolutely no AC in this place. The comedians were even complaining and making jokes about how hot it was. When the show was over everyone hauled ass to get out of there because of how uncomfortable it was. This is honestly one of the main reasons I gave them 2-stars. You’re paying to enjoy yourself but instead you’re worrying about getting sweating and wanting to leave because you can’t stand the heat. The drinks were decently priced which is surprising since there was a two drink minimum. I had two glasses of cab for $ 16. Overall Meh, I’ve definately experienced better.

Founded by Mitzi Shore(now, age 83) and her late husband, Rudy DeLuca, were the founders of The Comedy Store in 1972. Famous offspring, Pauly Shore, has performed here 100’s of times. A literal«who’s who» in Comedy. Everyone, who’s anyone really, if your a stand-up, you’ve performed here. A partial list: Tim Allen, Chris Rock, Roseanne Barr, John Belushi, George Carlin, Jim Carrey, Johnny Carson, Chevy Chase, Redd Foxx, Gallagher, Whoopi Goldberg, Chelsea Handler, Martin Lawrence, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Howie Mandel, Steve Martin, Dennis Miller, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, Ben Stiller, Damon Wayans, and Robin Williams. The list goes on and on. I’ve been here before(but years ago), and went again last night to the«C Word», upstairs in the Belly Room. It was great, and for $ 5 cover + 2 drinks! 10 or so performers with 10 or so minute sets. Fun, fun, fun. Every Thursday, be there at 8pm or be square. A few notes and warnings: 1. It’s a lot dated: if you’re looking for a total experience, this isn’t it. 2. Multiple shows: I booked one online, but found out there’s 2 other shows with separate fees. Make sure you research and ask questions. 3. Parking lot was full. You can go round and round the nearby neighborhoods, but after 8pm — you need a permit. You can park next store for $ 15 valet. 4. A 2 drink minimum: they’re relaxed on what you order. You can order $ 4 seltzers or coffees, if you prefer. I got $ 7 draft beers, no problem.

It’s the World Famous Comedy Store. I’m giving 4 stars because you go to a comedy club for the comedy and nothing else. Everything else here is lacking but hey, it’s not a 3 Michelin star restaurant. They have a fryer, and some over priced alcohol. Come here for the comedy. It could use some updating, but again… It’s the product they put in front of you, not all the other shit. Although I will say if it ever shut down it could reopen then next day as a seedy strip club.

I like this place. There are a lot of rooms with different comedians performing. We went there to watch a friend I grew up with perform. As I stated before there are a lot of rooms and a lot of shows and people performing. My friend was performing in the Crazee Cindy show in Belly Room. We walked up and were asked which show we were there to watch and told tickets were cash only and we could buy them at the door. We got directions and walked back to the Belly Room got a little more direction from the person attending the door, then went to get cash. When we returned we were carded and directed to the room. The person selling the tickets asked who we were there to see again we indicated the show where there to watch, thinking it was odd to be asked again. We sat down watched the show purchase our two drinks for our two drink minimum. And by two drinks we had to get them at the same time risking the second get warm. Enjoyed the show but waited and wait for my friend to perform. No performance! After the show I contacted my friend and discovered he wasn’t allowed to perform because he didn’t have enough people there to watch him. He wasn’t aware of this otherwise he would have made it clear to everyone he invited out to watch. Sad we missed him due to miscommunications. Hope this doesn’t happen to others performing here.
