Had a reservation for today at 8pm(called yesterday morning) and when we got there the place was closed. Dark. Locked. Empty! However, after reading the other reviews on here, I actually think it might have been our lucky day. Glad I didn’t give them any of my money. Horrible customer experience without actually ever being a customer!

After reading other reviews I called to see if they will honor certificates. They do not. Anyways the business should notify if they are no longer using their service. The only reason I was going to check this place out was because of the coupon. Now I’ll probably never try it. Reviews are to sketchy.

I ordered from Grub Hub, and this place is REPULSIVE. Had a chicken salad and a sandwich, both items were disgusting. The chicken tasted like it was cooked 4 weeks ago on a hot sidewalk. We even offered some to the cat, and the cat gave us a legitimate«WTF?!?» face. The fact that the meal was 30 dollars is a whole separate issue… Grub Hub was excellent and refunded my order, but only after the manager made me call her directly. During the conversation, she was rude, unforgiving, and down right mean. I would starve before I ever gave them another dollar. Horrible food, horrible people, just plain horrible. P. S. Unilocal needs to allow a zero stars rating.

So this was my second time there. They are revamping it and turning it into a sports bar now, so I can’t be critical on the appearance just yet. Had the pizza again and it was as good as the first time. Fresh, thin crust and tasty. I had a garden salad… that’s when you start wondering about who they have in the back making this stuff. My garden salad consisted of a slice of tomato cut into two and a slice of a cucumber cut into two… garden salad? Not sure if I will be returning.

Wine racks full of empty bottles and they’re out of almost every wine on the menu. They’re are 8 beer taps, all out, so no beer. The Groupon was a rip off, no bottles or pizza cheap enough to get what they advertised. New waiter came in, total ass. argue with the customer… One star for the wine, which was overpriced.

I work a building next to this small restaurant. I was highly recommended to order lunch here. Especially the Kobe Beef Sliders. Long story short, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth. My co-worker stated to me, once opening her 2 sliders, that the burgers had been charred. I immediately called after receiving the meals, and spoke with someone(who I later found out was the chef) about getting another order placed and comp’d. I also additionally asked if the fries(which were cold) to also be comp’d. He stated verbatim: «Charred? And whats wrong with the fries?!» I told him it doesn’t matter, my co-worker is not satisfied. Asked if he could repeat the order(because it was changed to Chicken sliders), but he hung up. HUNGUP! That’s like turning your back. Can’t stand it. The delivery took another 15 mins and I asked the delivery employee who spoke on the phone with me, he stated the chef. Then I proceeded to tell him I thought he was rude and shouldn’t have questioned further than«how could he replace the meal.» The delivery employee continued to make up excuses such as: «He’s not feeling well today. His children are sick. We’re really busy…» At the end of the day, they are EXCUSES. Such a sour taste left from beginning to end of this experience and I will not be returning. I’ve notified my entire floor to not order from this place of business again. I’ve worked in the servicing industry for 10+ years and have never been so utterly shocked at the way a simple situation could have been resolved.

I ordered from here because i was sick with a fever and wanted soup and this place was the closest delivery with soup that wasn’t oriental. it took almost an hour considering it is a mile away. Got chicken soup and vegetable soup to have in my fridge. opened the vegetable soup which was filled with oil and fat at the top and took a taste and it wasted like hot water. NO flavor at all, put the lid back on and put it in my fridge and decided to eat the chicken soup … opened it and tasted like hot water! seriously? if you cant make a simple soup how good can the food be? not to mention the soups were almost 8 bucks i could have boiled my own hot water for free and added salt pepper and other seasonings to make a better soup than what they delivered to me. i also ordered the chicken avocado sandwich since it was advertised as one of their most popular dishes. it was decent, nothing crazy good and definitely not worth 16 bucks. it asked me while i was ordering if i wanted a side salad instead of fries, i took the salad option but there was no choices of dressing. all in all, i probably will NOT be ordering from here again just due to the fact the food didn’t travel far and was way over priced for how it tasted. two thumbs DOWN

This place is okay. I came in because I had a coupon and it was convenient. The pizza was fine but nothing incredibly memorable. We also tried the caesar salad with bacon, which we were all super surprised when the salad came out and there were HUGE pieces of bacon on top. That was my favorite part, and I have been inspired to put bacon on all future caesar salads. However, the croutons totally ruined the dish for me. It was like chopped up toast bits that were thrown on top. There was very little crunch to them, and I ended up shoving the croutons out of the way to get to the bacon. We had great service, most likely because we were the only people there.

This review is a little late since I went early this year but since I just added a pic to their page I see no better time then now. Since I usually like to start with the positive I’ll say the pizza is pretty good and they have a wide variety of wines, which is always nice. Like most restaurants on Sunset Blvd its overpriced. Thank god I had a groupon, which is the only reason I went in the first place. If your looking for top notch service this isn’t the place for you. Like most of the reviews I read I have no idea how they stay open. We were the only couple there for the first 15 minutes. Cant say its the worse place I’ve been too but I’m not going back anytime soon.

I must first say that since I didnt dine at the restaurant I only have my delivery experience to go on. My work took orders and had everything delivered, so my experience with this place is based off of that alone. The menu seems to be pretty decent with a diverse array of things to order, including some vegetarian options. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan sandwich. It was very good and I was very happy with my order. It came with fries that I guess didnt travel well. I would have preferred a different side, but I dont know if one was available. The fries were definitely over cooked as they were pretty dark in color and tasted a bit burnt. They were all rock hard when I got them so I dont know if that was the over cooking or the fact that they are relatively thin and were boxed to go. Either way they didnt make it to me in an edible state of being. Out of our orders only the sandwiches were labelled, so someone had to go through all of the boxes and go down the order list to figure out what was what, which is a bit of an inconvenience. The person who delivered everything made sure to give us a printed menu in the event that we ever wanted catering so he said, which was thoughtful. But I have a hard time imagining a restaurant catering anything if the food doesnt travel well and if nothing is labelled. I am sure dining at the restaurant is a completely different experience, though if they are burning fries I wonder how hard of a time they are having making other dishes. Even I never burnt a batch of fries as a teenager working in fast food for my first job, so I know it’s not hard to do. I dont know how my co workers meals were because we ordered kind of late, and the food arrived just as we were packing up to go home, so most of us took our food home with us. I suspect that the salads were good, as long as they werent all iceberg lettuce. If I ever find myself at the restaurant, I’ll update my review.

Okay… This review is long due, I’m finally putting myself together and writing it. Before I start, I have to admit I promised to the owner I would write him a five star review — not because I received anything from him, but it’s just that I feel they deserve it. It’s located at the very end of Sunset strip, chic and modern. Once you walk in through the tiny glass door, you’re surrounded by some lounge/party music, but not Top 40 which would totally ruin the entire experience at a restaurant. The atmosphere is very happening, even when there’s no other customer there. Light is dimmed but with the music it makes you energized. You can feel it yourself. But that comes with a price, inevitably the rent is above the roof. Considering that, I don’t think their pricing is anywhere close to being unreasonable when the food there taste so good. I had a pizza there, it wasn’t too oily like many other places. Other foods I had were great too. Some kebab made me satisfied.

I really wanted to like this place but sadly it fell short in several ways. I bought a coupon off of Bloomspot that boasted an «appetizer, salad, 12″ pizza and a bottle of wine» for up to $ 50. Well, no bottle of wine is under $ 48 and you don’t get the deal unless you purchase one of each. I don’t know about you, but I felt like that was pretty sneaky. Onto the food: we ordered the«artisan» cheese plate which was $ 15. It was pathetic and I felt like I was at a friend’s place trying to be fancy. It was paired with slices of baguette and Ritz crackers. Oh, and not the mention the stale dried fruit. The caesar salad was a bit better. My only complaint there was that the core pieces made it into the salad. I can understand some but a whole chunk of the last third of romaine doesn’t belong on the plate of a sit down restaurant for $ 8. The pizza was the best part and really the only reason why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. Super thin crust and cooked to perfection. I ordered a prosciutto pizza but that’s the ingredient I had the least of. Either way, it was the saving grace of this place. It was a Saturday night and the place was empty. Perhaps the awful reviews of the place have rightly steered away clientele. I was disappointed to say the least and will not be returning in the near future.

Wow, walked it at around 3:30 on a Saturday and was immediately skeptical since I didn’t see anyone(no customers nor workers) for a few minutes. Finally some guy appeared in the back and brought us menus. I informed him I had a groupon so he took it then told me it has already been redeemed. Really?!? I’ve never stepped foot in that place and my groupon says its still available. His response«well it’s crossed off in here so I can’t use it». Oh, so their method of redemption is putting a line through a number on a list without any signature or electronic redemption. Nice! I will never step foot in there again and will be requesting my money back from groupon since I never got to use it. The only good thing that came of this is that I went down the street to coney dog and redeemed another groupon there, with no problems and excellent service.

This could have been a cool place. But not with attitude over us having a LA Deal coupon. (15 $ for 30 $). He took the coupon right away from under the menu. Hi! How are you this evening? Some welcoming comment would have been nice. We became the second table at 8:30 out of 3 tables for the evening. For the price he was asking for I expected better. He was enjoying the Lakers game with one customer at the bar. I am glad the customer popped out periodically or we may not have received plates. He was nicer to the couple that came in after us, as they were having wine. We talked about coming back for the wine tasting. Now, we do not plan to come back. I had to Thank him, as we left. Nothing was said during the credit card transaction. He did not check to see if we wanted refills or any other courses. I still tipped the whole amount of what the original tab. I think he expected us to be cheap with my quiet voiced friend. Better to prove him wrong than to prove himself right. I did enjoy the Malibu Pizza. But I think the Greek Salad had been marinating while they started the pizza. I think I am being more generous than the possible owner or server we had with two stars. Tourists could save him and keep him open longer than the 7 months he stated that they had been open.

This place is terrible, from the quality of the food, to the ridiculous prices. I don’t feel that whoever came up with the menu knew anything about pizza OR wine. The only thing that redeemed it to me was the sweet potato fries. Pizza and Wine WOULD have gotten 2 stars based on nice ambiance and pretty good service. That is, before one of the two owners decided to yell at me and my date, ruining both the ambiance and previously acceptable service. He had bought a deal on Nighttap, I bought the same deal(50% off $ 18 gift certificate) — and because he had linked me to it, he was given a third one for free. Upon seeing us come in for the third time, this pissed off the owner. He could really learn a thing or two about customer service. And math… seeing as how if he’d looked at our bill on all three occasions he would have realized Pizza & Wine sure as hell wasn’t losing any money on us. It’s too bad, the other owner was very nice. I had even decided, right before all of this took place, that I would keep coming back to occasionally munch on those sweet potato fries and sip on some overpriced wine. But what happened is kind of a deal-breaker in terms of Unilocal stars and the possibility of me ever going back. Whatever you do, don’t order the«artisan» cheese board. It’s a joke at $ 15 and looks like it was thrown together with cheap crap from Safeway. I mean, unless you’re down with paying 15 bucks for a cheese plate with Ritz Crackers. Really, though — just do yourself a favor and skip it. I don’t care what deal you find online. It isn’t worth it.

I got yelled at while on a date(not cool) by one of the owners because he thought I had illegitimately used a deal(I purchased 2 of them and he felt that wasn’t allowed). After it was sorted out we did enjoy our meal– but that’s not the way to treat customers and want them to come back. To be fair one of the other owners seems like a really nice guy. I thought this place was pretty decent(cool location, prices are on the high side, but reasonable) before that incident. Many of the wines are over priced, and priced differently from the menu online(which is what I looked at before purchasing a deal).

Can’t lie and say that this place as 2-star quality food/drinks/ambiance. I’ll talk bout the good before I start ranting about the 2-star service quality. — My friends and I found a Bloomspot deal here and we were really excited to check out this deal here(Pizza, salad, and appetizer PLUS a bottle of wine for $ 40!). It was such a steal. Finding the place wasn’t hard and we found parking up the hill on Sunset(FREE btw) so we lucked out. I recommend going up the hill rather than paying street parking right outside of the restaurant. Given the place is a «wine bar», I was expecting a variety of wines. But they are pretty limited in their selection(I noticed another reviewer pointing this out as well). Maybe they bring out a fuller menu during dinner? The décor was pretty cute: intimate seating area inside, dark maroon walls, and wine bottles that align the walls all over the restaurant. We ordered the bacon green salad, fried calamari(crispy, not soggy. tasted better than the versions at most bars), and the BBQ Chicken pizza. Sure the food can taste great but here’s the catch. The service was horrible. My friend found an eyelash in her salad and asked the waiter to take the food back and his initial reaction was: «that’s not MY eyelash!» and stood there without taking the food back. All of us were just awkwardly starring at him for a good 2 minutes. I only expect that type of service at hole-in-the-walls where you’re coming in knowing that the food is going to be «dirty-good». Here, it’s a sit-down location and it was shocking that they treated US like we were the antagonists… It made the rest of the meal very uncomfortable and we just wanted to get OUT. Never coming here again.

We had a Groupon for $ 35– pizza, wine tasting, and an appetizer platter. They said this deal was normally $ 70. When we got there, the place was empty(reservations recommended??) The waiter said we had four 2 oz tastes. Great! So we picked our wines and started drinking. After our first two wines, they said we were done and had to start purchasing wine. Apparently it wasn’t 4 tastings each, it was 4 tastings TOTAL. What kind of wine tasting is that??? Not to mention that a full glass of their wine was 5 oz, so we didn’t even receive a full glass of wine’s worth of tasting. Had we known it was only 2, we would’ve gotten a lot more expensive wines! The pizza was okay, nothing spectacular. The appetizer platter was a bunch of hard cheese and dried fruit, not worth its $ 25 menu price. How they expect anyone to pay $ 70 for this«deal» normally, I don’t really know. When we got the bill, they had overcharged us on tax by about $ 4. When we told them about it, it took 3 employees 10 minutes to figure out what I looked up on my phone in 10 seconds. When the waiter came back to our table, I heard him mutter under his breath«geez its only $ 4!» Okay, that’s $ 4 that won’t be in your tip.

I have to say right off the bat that I was a little apprehensive about this spot, because there were four obviously fake reviews posted in somewhat rapid succession soon after their opening. The promise of a good wine and pizza joint right around the corner from my place was enough to overlook it(but only by insistence of my pizza-loving husband). «Wine Bar» may be a bit of a misnomer, because their selection is quite limited. Don’t go expecting a vast selection of wines, there are only a handful — maybe 4 to 5 — of each category. The service was a bit off. The owner/manager(I assume, he acted like one) was a little standoffish when we entered. They were attentive at first, but after we put in our order(two glasses of wine and one pizza), we waited a full fifteen minutes(I ran a stopwatch out of curiosity) before the manager came out to tell us that they were out of one of the wines we ordered. He did a bit of song and dance trying to find a substitute, let me taste an off-menu chardonnay to see if it worked for me(it did), and subbed it in for the same price as the glass I ordered. Our pizza, «The Malibu,» came out as soon as that was settled, which isn’t bad turnaround time(again, about 15 min between order and serving). It was quite tasty indeed! Like I said, my expectations weren’t high, but it really was good. They have pretty good happy hour(4−7pm I think M-F) deals, which include a couple to three bucks off beer, wine(by the glass) and appetizers. All in all, it’s a solid spot. My first impulse was for three-stars, but I think I was swayed by said fakey reviews in that rating. It does deserve four stars.
