I’m growing out my hair after cutting off the damaged ends. I went to Cindy for a trim to keep it healthy as it grows out. I was very impressed with her curl knowledge and cut. Thanks!

I found Cindy on Unilocal after a friend suggested to look her up. At first I was a bit skeptical (since I had never had a dry cut), but decided to still give her a try. Apparently before opening her own place she worked at a different hair salon, and someone complained about the unevenness of the haircut. In Cindy’s defense the person seemed like a complainer who made a big fuzz and didn’t even wear her curly hair and straighten it. I ignored the bad review and got my first haircut in August 2015. I really loved not only her technique of cutting, but how conservative she was about not taking too much length. I have thick wavy/​curly hair and her haircut gave my hair the bounce it needed!
By March 2016 I was itching for a change and decided to cut my long hair that hit above my waist. After growing out my hair for the last 3 years I was a bit scared, but I knew if someone was going to cut my hair it was going to be Cindy. She ended cutting about 6 to 7 inches off and I absolutely walked out of the hair salon loving the haircut. It’s been about two months since my last haircut with her, and not only do I love how it’s grown out, but I am ready to come in to cut more hair. Cindy understands curly/​wavy hair and thank god that she provides an alternative to the traditional wet haircuts. I love that she cuts your hair dry in its natural state framing your face as opposed to a wet haircut. If you have curly/​wavy hair and are finally ready to try something different than all the wet haircuts you’ve ever had, try Cindy! She’s awesome!

Moved from the East Coast & Catherine, my deva-​trained curly girl hair pro & was traumatized when got to L.A., mostly by the outrageous (imho) prices for what Catherine did so wonderfully well.
Went to Cindy last month, & perfect cut, & I’m a short-​hairstyle curly girl, & must admit – hi/​lo-​lites even better than much-​lived Catherine. Hi-​lite/​Deva pintura just right – no yellow/​rusty color – I was so pleased, & relieved!

Overdue review: Cindy knows curly hair… she worked with my multi-​textured hair perfectly. I cannot wait to go back for her to paint a dash of color on these curls of mine!

Cindy is super meticulous and spends a lot of time dry-​cutting each curl individually so that it will lie correctly and evenly. She offers her professional opinion but listens to what you want done for your hair. She also offers advice for maintaining your hair and styling at home. Excellent service!

I first met Cindy at Devachon and I lost my hair dye virginity to her lol. It was a settle hair color so not many people noticed, unless I was in the sun. It took me two years to come back to her-​due to personal life but I finally did. I wanted to become a red head and that is exactly what i became. Cindy is a perfectionist and she tended to my hair with TLC. She had another client that needed a lot of attention but not once did I feel that she didn’t make both of us a priority. Cindy stated that I would get compliments and she was right! See you next month!

One day I was at work and I saw this beautiful girl walk in with the most incredible head of curly hair I’ve ever seen! I asked her who does her hair, as mine is also very curly, and she gave me Cindy’s info.
My hair was very short but I wanted to get it cut and shaped properly so that it would be able to grow out nicely. The last person did some real damage .
I went in and Cindy had the right vibe as well as skill in taking care of me and my curls! Since then I’ve been letting it grow for the past few months and I get complimented on a DAILY BASIS for how banging my curls are. «Wow! What product do you use??» «Who does your hair?!» I am always happy to send people her way.

I’ve had many deva cuts in the past with many different stylist who would tell me how they think my hair looks best And how I should style my hair and cut it but Cindy is the first stylist who actually asked me what I want, what I like and how I feel best. I told her i wanted to even out my layers and grow out my hair in the future. She got right to work did her thing and took my opinion into consideration which I really appreciated. My hair looks just like I pictured it. I was nervous and shy at first but she made me feel really comfortable and she’s actually really sweet and funny xD thanks Cindy I will be back soon!!!

This review is long over do. I’ve been busy enjoying my hair. I found Cindy through a friend. She is talented, passionate and kind. She gave me a great dry cut and we had lots of fun.
I went from long scraggly curls to a fun short fringy bob.
I really want to go shorter but Cindy encouraged me that «we will get there» and that this is the start of new relationship.
I’m SO grateful to have found someone to not just cut my hair based on some technique, but someone who will curate a look based on my bone structure, personality and career.
I’m looking forward to coming back in a few months to cut cut cut some more!!!

Cindy totally hooked me up! She takes such care in cutting every single curl on my head and making sure the shape I want is perfect! It’s so difficult to find someone who really understands curly hair and I’m so exited to have sound someone in LA. Not only did she give me a great haircut, but she also gave me tips on how to take care of my hair. I can really tell the difference since I changed my routine to include her advice.

Honestly Cindy may have surpassed the only two stylists on the planet (she has certainly at least matched then deftly) that I feel I can truly trust with my hair. It is so hard to find a curl specialist and i have lost the thickness, shape and curl I had grown to know as my hair.
Cindy erred in the side of caution and fixed the shape of my curls suit taking much length, but after a few weeks of them still being weighed down from a. Curl to a limp wave, I asked her if we could try bringing it up and adding more layers. She brought me in and went through three stages of cuts to make sure I was ready and comfortable with the shape and new cropped length.
She was even ready to start all over again to take more off when we discovered how great the short hair worked for my face and texture. I couldn’t in good conscience let her do that because she already did an amazing job, and given me half her afternoon by that point (and this was a complimentary touch up which she even went above and beyond with a wash and style which I did not expect at all). I think she offers this as a general policy and I encourage patrons to make sure to tip her for this generously if you take her up on it, especially since her prices are already so reasonable.
I am excited for our next cut when we go even deeper together!
Side note; There is something about her that I just clicked with on a personal level, too. From the moment I walked in, I felt like a friend invited over to catch up. I ended up staying later just caught up in conversation with she and her sister and think I safely speak for all of us and say we had a blast together and I had to tear myself away from the fun when I left. I can’t wait to see her again and I will recommend her to everyone.

I have been to so many different Salons in the area and this is by far my favorite! Ever since finding this Salon and letting Cindy cut my hair I will never go anywhere else again! I love the atmosphere inside the salon and the customer service goes above and beyond. Thank you Cindy!

Meant to write this review a few weeks ago but I’m finally getting around to it now! Cindy is fantastic. I had been traumatized by more than a few hair stylists who didn’t understand how curly hair needs to be treated so it had been quite some time since my last cut. Cindy did a fantastic dry cut, shampooed and then used Devacurl products on me before putting me under the dryer. She also gave me some tips on general curl maintenance which have been super helpful.
The BEST part is that because her overhead is so much less than it would be if she were with a large salon, her prices are super reasonable. I went to Ouidad a few years back and paid almost double for a kind of mediocre experience.
She’s my new go-​to stylist!

I loved Cindy! She was sweet, down to earth and listened to what I wanted with a smile. Most importantly she gave me an absolutely beautiful haircut! At one point about mid cut (she uses the dry deva cut method) I got a bit emotional and started tearing up a bit I loved it so much. I just felt beautiful. I know that sounds silly, but it was kind of a cool experience. :) I highly recommend Cindy!

Thank you hair gods for finally bringing a curly hair specialist to the Hollywood area! I don’t drive and before now I had to travel up to North Hollywood to find a Devachan trained stylist but not anymore! Now I have my own curly hair guru no more than a 5 minute bus ride away. Woot!
Today I got my curls cut and pampered by Cindy. First off Cindy is sweet, down to earth and very knowledgeable when it comes to curly hair. She is Devachan certified and also worked at the Devachan salon in Santa Monica before opening her own salon. The salon is located inside one of those shared salon suites type of buildings that just opened up on the corner of Fountain and La Brea. It’s a small but clean and trendy space.
Okay…now onto the cut. I talked to her about my current style and what I liked and what I didn’t like and basically what I wanted. We chatted for a bit and she made some suggestions and away she went. snipping each curl to perfection.
Next we headed to the bowl to get my hair poo’d and styled. Now. I love DevaCurl products but they don’t necessarily love me. Unfortunately the scent of the products give me full on migraines. Usually I allow stylists to use whatever Deva products they want on me and I’ll just go home and rinse it out but she was like…“Nope, no one is going home with a migraine on my watch.” and used a few products that were less scented including a new Coconut Curl Cream that Deva just put out.
Now I’ve been getting Deva Cuts since 2007 and I told her this but she still talked through exactly what she was doing with the products which I actually really appreciated because she taught me something new. Usually I put a curl cream all through my hair and then rake in gel and scrunch. She actually did this in sections to allow for better control of each curl while producing less frizz. Huh… learned something new!
What I also loved is that she realized that my hair repels moisture so she factored this in when applying the products.
Once done at the bowl I sat under a Deva hair dryer for awhile and then she diffused my hair the rest of the way.
Time for a few more snips here and there and… voila…a perfect cut that I am super happy about. My hair has shape ad my curls are defined and bouncy.
Curly girls if you live in the area… run don’t walk to get your hair pampered by Cindy. Ooh and also… she is very reasonably priced. especially for the area!

I have searched high and low for a skilled hair stylist like Cindy. Before I met Cindy, I absolutely hated my curls and had one bad haircut after the other. Cindy has been cutting my hair for five years now. I relocated to Sacramento, but travel to Los Angeles regularly to get my hair cut by her. She is AMAZING!!!

I had my first dry cut and so happy with my hair, it feels light and healthy. Cindy is very nice, patient and professional stylist. she know how to take care of curly hair, took her time with no rush, which made me feels so comfortable. The salon is very neat, clean and easy parking.

I love getting my hair done by Cindy Stevenson at Hairmonious! She’s been cutting my hair for 2 years now, since she was at Devachan. She is so meticulous with cuts, and she treats curls with care and respect!
Before coming to Cindy, I would clear my schedule after haircuts so that I could come home and restyle my hair afterwards — because with curls, you just don’t know what you’re going to get! But whenever I go to Cindy I can trust that she’ll cut, color, and style my hair beautifully. I always walk away feeling more confident and so happy with my hair.
The salon is clean, comfortable, and stylish. The products aren’t what I normally use, but they work ok on my hair and they smell really good. Cindy is usually happy to use my own products if I bring them.
Bottom line, you can and should trust this woman with your hair!
