I am still in love with this place after more than 5 years not coming. It’s great bar for drinks, pool or darts and conversation. Their are always great specials and the patrons at this bar is mixed with the mature and young crowd. No T No shade here either. The house dj was spinning the mixes, which definitely added to the mood of the bar. Keep it up Gold Coast.

This is my favorite bar. For the love of god PLEASE start taking credit cards. And could whoever owns this place fix the belching burping gas fumes coming up through the drains from creepin’ into the damn bar!!! I’d like to enjoy this place without the funk of forty thousand years all up in my face!!! Is that too damn much to ask!!! Also, the DJs are inspirational!!! Thank you!!!

I love this place! We used to call it the Mold Coast when we were twinks but now it’s right up my alley. Love the cheap drinks and cool jams… not to mention the laid back attitude. Like a gay Cheers., I feel like everybody knows my name. Hands down… best neighborhood bar in Weho!

There are many great bartenders at the Gold Coast Bar, but Jessie is one of the best… he pours a great drink and very professional!

Great bar! Really good crowd mostly gay but some strait people too. I’m a strait guy but I like this bar because everyone is friendly and never any fights. Very cool bartenders.

One of the few remaining«neighborhood bars» left in WeHo. I started gong because of the convenient parking — 13 years later I’m still going because it is a great place. Freindly crowd, great bartenders like Billy, Beau, Boo, Jesse, Nick, Smokey, and the rest. Stiff drinks, and none of the«club attitude» you get down the street. Crowd skews older, but is a good mix of ages. This place is the gay equivalent of «Cheers». Love Ya, GC!

I was in here last night for New Years. I was out with my wife and some friends. We are all Heteros and decided to grab drinks here after Hamburger Mary’s since they are open an hour after Mary’s. To be fair it was my first(and maybe last) time I set foot in this place and it was New Years so maybe the regular crowd is different. But in the hour we were in there, there were a few times that there was too many bodies all up in my space for no reason. This one dude kept rubbing his back into mine and I turned around thinking it was just crowded, nope, arms length distance in front of him. On one occasion some guy walked passed me and put his hands on my back and worked his way down and«brushed» his hand on my ass. I almost wanted to call him out on it but didn’t want to be labeled a «brutish gay basher». That’s not me at all, why the hell would I be in WeHo then? But I certainly don’t expect to have my physical space violated just because I may choose to party in a gay area. This is only my second time hanging out in a gay area of LA. The first time was really cool. Super friendly people for the most part. I have no issues with gays. Love who you want. But gay, straight, whatever, respect personal space. The bar itself was a typical divey bar. No «gay décor» that I noticed. Only indication I noticed were the drunken gay dudes making out. LOL Oh and the joint is CASHONLY which is stupid.

I’ve been coming to Gold Coast for years. Yes, it’s divey yet comfortable. It never changes which is good. Nothing pretentious compared to the other gay bar down the street. It’s small and intimate and always popular with the older crowd at happy hours & early evening. The younger crowd comes in later in the evening for cheap drinks, but it gets a pretty mixed crowd. Bartenders are always nice and friendly. If you are just looking for a fun neighborhood bar without attitude then this is the place. Limited free parking in the back; metered street & lot parking until 8PM.

One of the safe havens for your usual strong drinks on Halloween in WeHo. An older crowd here as this was one of the original bars. I walk in and I’m the ham on the table.

Awful place, cleared my drink while I was playing pool when I complained I was asked to leave, I will never go back there again, low class staff. Horrible!!!

The last time I was in the Gold Coast was over twenty years ago. Though things tend to change over time, the Gold Coast hasn’t. Thank goodness for that. It was then and still is a gay dive bar, but a good one in that it still serves a pretty good drink, has great full of humor, witty bartenders, a customer base mostly being in the thirty age group but overall diverse, and one of the few WeHo gay bars that haven’t given itself over to that rather superficial twinkle boy crowd for which West Hollywood is so famously known. Indeed, it has a reputation for being an old man’s bar but keep in mind old man is defined in the WeHo dictionary as over 30. Of course you’ll find the usual number of guys doing pickups or hitting on each other, but for the most part a generally friendly group with little more in mind than having a good drink and enjoying the conversational or casual company of others they may meet. The atmosphere is divey, dark, has a pool table, some video porn, free condom jars and like.

The best bar in West Hollywood; a real-life Cheers. The antidote to the snobby Weho scene we all get a little sick of sometimes. I have been coming here for years, and cannot say that for many places. Thanks for the all the cheap drinks, good times, and free condoms, Gold Coast.

Great bar pasting time, meeting people, having a few. Both times there the bartenders were friendly, informational, nice to all. That is reason I visited twice. There were both locals and tourist(like myself) there. Reminds me of bar in Portland that spent my youth in. A very good thing.

What a cute little bar and how have I never been in here before? The atmosphere is nice and fun, the drinks are good, the service speedy. This is a great place to just hang out, have a couple drinks with friends and shoot the breeze. The staff is also very friendly. I have to give a special shout out to the bar tender I had last night. I don’t remember his name-I want to say Beau?-but he was wearing a leopard hat. He was very funny and had a great personality, the kind of bar tender I love. I will be back at Gold Coast just to see if he’s working-and if he is I’ll stay. Owners, give him a huge raise, he’s a bar tender who knows how to take care of customers and make them repeat customers.

Positive side: cheap drinks and nice people. But, it’s a total old man bar… I do not think I will live that down with my coworkers anytime soon.

Stopped inside this place around midnight after visiting another bar. I gotta say that this place had a relaxed, easy atmosphere. I came with a friend so he ordered a drink and I just had sparkling water. The prices seemed cheap, which was nice. We sat at the bar and the bartender Beau(Bo?) was very friendly. I didn’t have much to say in the way of conversation with the bartender, but my he and my friend were able to create conversation easily. I will definitely want to check out this place again when I am in town. :)

Probably the most low key gay bar in WeHo, mainly because it is away from the main bar area and has a bit of a dive feel to it. The bartenders are cute, friendly and have great smiles that put most newbies at ease immediately. The clientele are mainly playing pool or sitting around the bar having casual conversations, and still doing the LA thing of looking over the shoulder of the person they are conversing with to see if anyone else has entered the room. Only in this place it is not mean-spirited, only a force of habit that most Angelenos use as a survival mechanism. Still, the patrons are friendly and will engage in conversation fairly easily. Go here for the best relaxing time n WeHo where the men most likely to use Scruff hang out.
