I found Alyson by googling «best hair stylist in los angeles», and she really is! I have been going to Alyson for about 2 years and have never been happier with my hair style and color. When I told her how improved my hair is, she said it’s because the color she uses is eco-​friendly. I also think it’s the great products she’s turned me on to, and, of course, the fabulous cuts. I love Alyson and my hair!

LOOK NO MORE… Alyson is the BEST!!! A true professional and expert colorist, Alyson is just a sweetheart and a complete joy to work with! She loves what she does and it shows, takes an interest and listens to every concern during consultation. I was so impressed by her kindness and patience in executing her vision. That, on top of the fact that she possesses an artist’s eye for color and cut and what will work best for each individual. I moved here 4 years ago, and every stylist I’ve tried has resulted in giving me the worst gold/​brassy highlights and lowlights, it was always money down the drain and damage for no good reason. I’d then try someone else to get it corrected, and it became a never ending disasterous cycle. My search has ended with Alyson, I got a great recommendation on her and she delivered!!! If you need color-​correction or are just looking for beautiful, soft blonde, believeable shades, then call Alyson. Anyone who could color-​correct my challenging, thick, coarse mane, and work with my greys coming in, really knows their stuff! She made such thoughtful decisions every step of the way. This brought about not only a great color correction, but color that looks correct and flattering to my complexion and eyes. Alyson truly has a GIFT!!! I am so grateful that I found her! I was about to give up, she was my last hope, and all I can say is THANK YOU ALYSON!!!

I wish I could give Alyson more than five stars, because she is a truly incredible stylist. I was rather surprised to only see a couple reviews for her on Unilocal,because she consistently has given me beautiful cuts!
I discovered Alyson through my sister, and now both my sister, my mom and I all only trust her with our hair. I have very thick, unruly hair, and every stylist before Alyson could barely manage it. I dreaded getting haircuts usually because they never seemed to turn out the way I wanted them to. However, Alyson always gets it right. Recently I decided I wanted to make a big change and cut my hair really short. I was concerned that it would end up looking masculine, or simply ugly, but Alyson cut my hair in such a precise and careful manner that it turned out excellent. I am very, very satisfied with how my hair looks now, and much happier! Seriously, do yourself a favor and have her cut your hair. Once you let her cut your hair, you won’t go to anyone else, because everyone else pales in comparison.

I found Alyson last Spring, and scheduled an appointment after learning that she had won the best of city search awards. Having moved to LA two years ago, I found that finding a good hairstylist was NOT going to be easy. After several disappointing experiences in different salons (including a mishap that turned my hair pink) finding Alyson was very refreshing. She spent time talking with me and getting to know me before she started with any color or cut. Every time I see her, I leave the salon feeling rejuvenated and confident. This girl really knows her stuff! She is beautiful on the inside and out and my hair looks the best it has in years. After spending time with Alyson and having my hair in her very capable hands, I wouldn’t dream of going to anyone else. Bravo, Alyson.

This sweet angel is sensational! I’m pregnant and married to a highly lovable – albeit annoyingly-​meticulous – specialist physician and he also LOVES Alyson. She’s the ONLY stylist he’ll let near me, especially given the baby on the way. Alyson’s absolute devotion to using healthy products and natural hair colors is truly remarkable. She knows everything that’s on the market (or coming out) and I do like to quiz her for new info! Pregnant ladies (and everyone), please go and see her. You can rock-​up with no make-​up, in gym gear and wearing your flip-​flops, if you like (I have): Alyson will still make you feel like the gorgeous creature that you are. Her happiness and feel-​good vibe are contagious. I hope she never leaves LA! I’m not sure what I would do without her!

Alyson is AMAZING! She not only is such a sweet person but very talented as well. I usually am very cautious who I let touch my hair due to past experiences (we’ve all had them) but she listens to everything you say and doesn’t have her own agenda. Her price is very reasonable too considering the high quality cut she gives. I’ve even recommended her to friends that saw her and were happy with their cut:) Definitely check her out!

Alyson is a fantastic stylist! She really takes the time during the consultation to listen to you, ask questions and make suggestions. I am extremely picky about my hair — so trust me, she knows her stuff! I’ve had many of my friends tell me how great my hair looks and ask me where I get it done. I have been going to Alyson regularly for the last 10 months or so, 9 of which I have been pregnant. At first I was skeptical of the safety of coloring my hair while pregnant but Alyson uses the most natural products, hair colors, and shampoos of any stylists I have been too. Not to mention she is truly a gifted cutter, and really does everything in her power to listen and give you exactly what you are asking for. My hair and health have been safe in her hands since I have met her!

Hands down one of the best consultations and haircuts I’ve ever had! I have thick wavy hair and am always crossing my fingers when sit down in a new stylist’s chair. Alyson is so knowledgeable about cutting techniques and color that my nerves were quickly forgotten. She is all about natural products and I love that! Purchased her special off of Unilocal deals and so happy that I did.

Alyson moved to Los Angeles over ten years ago — but still has such a loyal coterie of customers here in the Bay Area that we fly her up once every six weeks for cuts and highlights. She has been doing my hair for 17 years, since a big-​name San Francisco hairdresser gave me the cut from h*ll just before my 20^th high school reunion. I really looked like a haystack. Somehow, she saved it – and I even had the joy of being in a stall in the ladies’ room and having two gals walk in talking about how great I looked. (YES!!)
Alyson does an excellent job of giving your hair structure so that it blow dries beautifully. And, as other reviewers have noted, she does careful grey-​minimizing lowlights and highlights that blend so completely your hair even looks natural when it’s wet. (Unlike the zebras in the changing room at our swim club.)
She is also a genuinely nice and caring person — so you’ll come away looking great and feeling great.

I love getting my hair cut by Alyson. I also have her do lowlights to tone down the grey. She does very natural looking color, and uses eco-​sensitive products, so that I am not being exposed to unhealthy chemicals. What I love about her cuts is that even when I am lazy and do not do a lot of styling, the layers fall so that I look great! I am so lucky to be one of her clients!

My savior! I want natural highlights that blend with my grays without covering them up. Alyson always delivers. I now live in Phoenix and have tried, without success, to find a colorist in Arizona. They just don’t measure up to Alyson. She always has to fix the mistakes and every time it looks wonderful. Thank you thank you thank you!
I also have curly/​wavy/​frizzy hair and she gives it a great cut that brings out the natural waves. I always feel great after a cut and highlight with Alyson!

I cannot recommend Alyson enough!!! She is, hands down, the best. She has cut my hair when it is curly, straight, short and long and it always looks beautiful, healthy, and it grows out perfectly. My hair can be a little difficult and she always take a great deal of time with me to make sure that I get the best possible cut. She is a master at what shapes work with your face, she even gave me my first bangs ever, I was really nervous but, of course, they turned out beautifully. To top it off, she does such great color and highlights. I have a very specific red that I am really picky about and she gets is exactly right!
I have been to all the top celebrity stylist in Los Angeles and spent lots and lots of money and Alyson is, by far, my favorite. Her work is better and her prices a lower. That is probably why she is one of highest voted Los Angeles stylist. Also, she is just a lovely person and I always enjoy going in to see her. Actually, I won’t let anybody else touch my hair!

Alyson has been cutting my hair for about 3 years now and I will never ever go to anyone else again. I have naturally curly hair and had nothing but bad experiences at salons.
I found Alyson online when I searched «curly haircut los angeles». Her haircuts are amazing. She is very detail oriented, takes the time to listen to you, and gosh, I just don’t know of a better stylist! The first cut she gave me was a graduated bob. I didn’t know curly-​haired people could get such a cute bob! All the haircuts since then have been amazing. I just love her!
She was so nice on the phone when I first called her, and is always very kind, professional. I recently even called her on advice about getting a Brazilian Blowout hair straightening. She took the time to give me advice on how I should look for a stylist, and even explained to me the technical aspects of the product/​process.
I have straight hair now after the Brazilian Blowout, and still don’t want anyone else to cut my hair except Alyson. I am so thankful that I met Alyson — Love Love Love!
