I have lived in my apartment building for 2 ½ years now, AEA took ownership about 4 months ago and has made some improvements to the exterior of the building and upgraded the vacant apartments so they can charge $ 1,500 for a 2 bedroom in Highland Park. Mind you majority of the tenants are families that have multiple families that live with them and can afford the rent raise. However they raised the rent to $ 1,300 for existing tenants and did not do not a SINGLE upgrade or modification to the apartments. This building has a consistent roach problem and did not mandatory require all tenants to get fumigated. So I continually have a problem in my clean, organized,(only 2 people living in the home) apartment. This is a major issue that Bobby brushed off and Ivan said its nothing we can do. Bobby the«manager» is supposed to be the liaison between the tenants and the owners did not seem to have time for me when I called in to ask some routine questions about the above mentioned issues. He rushed me off the phone stating«can you hurry this up, I’m in the middle of signing a lease». I felt offended and most of all irritated that he wouldn’t think that it was rude to rush a tenant off the phone repeatedly and said, I don’t deal with that, you can talk to Ivan. I complained to Ivan and tried to get some details on who is above Bobby, all Ivan said, they are 2 brothers that we barely see. No names, no nothing. I personally do not recommend dealing with this company or renting from them. They just want the money, for you to be quiet and to take everything face value. I am actually a college educated woman, with real estate and customer service experience; and know that the service I received today was astronomically horrible and I didn’t even call to complain.

Completed an apartment search, lease signing, and move-in in 2014 with AEA. Even though things always seemed rushed with AEA and Bobby, I’ve never had them drop a ball. They are beyond flexible, very responsive, and the apartment is great. This isn’t a high-frills management company, but the good deals show that. I get the feeling it doesn’t help to be a squeaky wheel with these guys, but squeak when something actually needs their attention and you’ll get prompt attention. I recommend working with them.
