Hunan Delight

Being from Queens I have been spoiled by good take-​out Chinese food. I’ve tried a few places in my neighborhood but never found the place that I could be my «go to» until I found Hunan Delight. I’ve only ordered from here since I found it close to a year ago and have rarely been disappointed. We don’t order meals that aren’t considered a staple of take-​out chinese food, we usually order just the basics; boring sometimes but when you’re looking for your Chinese food fix, this place satisfies. The last meal we had, Chicken with broccoli (spicy), fried dumplings, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken and pork fried rice were perfect for our night. I would definitely recommend this place, I have tried other items of theirs as well and have yet to be disappointed. The place takes a while to deliver but overall I am not complaining because I found a good Chinese food restaurant close to the house with everything me and the family were looking for.

I guess I am on the lookout for a new Chinese food place that delivers in this area — unfortunately options are limited. A few short years ago when I first moved to the area Hunan Delight was a good option. Their prices were a bit higher than other places in the area, but the quality of food matched.
Everything has taken a hit in quality and flavor. The won-​ton soup is now completely flavorless brown water. Thankfully, they still use the same thin wrapper for the won-​tons. I was surprised to see the shrimps are even shrimpier! Not in flavor, but in size. The ones we received were overcooked and probably closer to the medium shrimp size as opposed to the Jumbos they used to use. The dumplings are now more dough than dumplings.
Seems this place reopened with the same name under new owners a year or two ago and for a little while kept the food consistent. They added «sushi» to the menu, but I never ordered it, but now it seems that hasn’t worked out since its no longer on the menu.
Please, if anyone has a good quality Chinese place in the area that delivers. Your suggestions would be most welcome!

Over priced food that’s ok plus the owners are incredibly rude. We have ordered from there for years but recently have been disappointed with the food quality and costumer service.

I like this restrant a lot, the price fit their restrant. I am going to go to that restrant often, I suggest for others to go to that restrant.

We just ordered a bunch of food — from lemon chicken and sweet and sour chicken to beef and scallops. It was delivered quickly and every dish was delicious. I should have ignore the grumpy review about bad attitdue I read last week. Great as usual.

Both the owner and waitress were extremely rude. I was making sure there was no sesame in my order since I am deadly allergic and they brushed it off as if my request was not important/​annoying. We then tried to just order soup since it was a guaranteed no sesame and they proceeded to deny us service «You cannot only order soup at this restaurant» (which is clearly not true, they were just annoyed at our 1 life threatening request).
Unfortunately they lost a good customer. THEY WILL NEVER SEE ME OR MY FAMILY AGAIN!

Ordered take out. Nice place, decent food. But for price… a bit expensive. I paid about $ 15 more than I think I would have from a comparable place. These are more the type of prices that you would expect to pay in a fancier eat in place like Orchid. Hunger prevailed and the total not discussed amongst us until later, after the stomach growling ceased. Will they see a return from us? With so many choices in the area we probably won’t return. Shame.
