The Corner Express Grill

Best food I’ve ever eaten inside a gas station! They serve some of the same menu options at The Corner in Milford, like The George sandwich. I had the school bus special, which was delicious and too big for me to finish. I also had a bite of a sausage, egg, and cheese on a sub. It was great. This location is worth checking out if you are on the go. The prices are extremely affordable. It doesn’t have the charm and cuteness of The Corner in Milford. I wouldn’t take my mother to brunch at this West Haven location. However, it is neat that they are bringing their awesome food to another town.

I don’t even know where to begin with this. When I found out the Corner had a satellite location in West Haven, I was pretty darn excited. I absolutely love the Corner but going there for lunch during the work week isn’t feasible. I finally managed to get there and almost turned back around and walked out the door when I saw the place. Granted it is in a gas station, but this place is an absolute dump. The only reason we didn’t leave immediately was because this place is supposed to be like the Corner. Half of the menu is scratched out, the chairs are filthy, and it just looks extremely sketchy. I got the burrito and my companion got the George. The crazy part is, the food was really good! Unfortunately, I was terrified we might get food poisoning just based on how the place looked and that totally ruined it for me. I’m really disappointed because I really wanted to make this a regular lunch spot. Despite the food being good, the overall ambiance/​presentation is just unappetizing.
