Wings Over Hartford – West

I ordered wings And onion rings online for pickup at the Wh store. The website said I would receive an email when they were ready. I left for the store after 20 minutes. No email came.
I asked the 2 women at the register and they were not familiar with the website they said.
The food was left on the counter and was lukewarm when I got home. Not a big deal so I put them in the toaster oven.
The wings weren’t bad but kind of small and chewy and dried out even with sauce on them. The onion rings were horrible and the darkest brown color and tasted somewhere between old chicken fryer oil and cardboard.
All in all pretty bad. I’m not going back.

Good spot. A little expensive for takeout primarily but a lot of good options for sauces.

Ordered 25 wings, got 19 and had to drive back to complain. Got no apologies for the inconvenience, just the other 6 wings. Not the first time I’ve ordered from here & I’m usually satisfied. Other than that, wings were great. Prob won’t be my first go-​to place next time.

I ordered wings with fries. They only brought over the wings. I even called the store in regards to the fries, but they never brought it. I did not even get a refund. Plus they blocked my number. Very unprofessional and disorganized business.

I’ve never had any other item on the menu except for the buffalo chicken wrap, because why try something new when the regular go-​to is always perfect?
The wait time is short, but the food is always fresh. We’ve ordered in the middle of the afternoon all the way through 11PM. Fresh, warm and short wait… every time.
I’m picky with my food, and especially meat. I’ve always been pleased with my meal.
Also — their fries are the fries that fry people love to eat.

I’m bumping this up from 1 to 4 stars. Do you know that ex that you really can’t stand and swore you would never speak to again… but then the stars align and your cell phone somehow magically dials their number? A combination of 50% off coupons and late nigh beer inspired cravings led me to give Wing Over another call. This place had done a complete 180. I don’t know if their staff turned over or management changed, but the people on the phone were pleasant and the wings were excellent. We have now ordered for delivery 3 time since our terrible experiences and every time they have been good on both the quality of the food and the service. I still think you can get better wings elsewhere for carry out, but for delivery Wings is definitely back in the rotation. That’s why you never delete some of those numbers in your cell phone. you just never know.

I wish I could rate wings over west Hartford more stars but unfortunately it’s one of the most unpredictable experiences ever, sometimes your food can be really good and I love their boneless wings with hot buffalo sauce the chicken is good quality and I really like thier waffle fries, but when it’s bad it’s really bad… Example their chicken is so over fried its inedible, delivery that can take over 1 hour and when it arrives it’s like someone emptied a bottle of water in the bag due to all the steam of the food and the length of time it was waiting to be delivered, I never order delivery from these guys no more because I can’t stand soggy fries, the staff could pretend their happy in front of customers and don’t look so depressed, overall this place is so hit and miss, if your in mewing ton try thier location for a more consistent wings experience

Came in for a quick afternoon snack. Though it wasn’t particularly «quick» because it took a surprising amount of time to get 10 wings. But whatever. It was worth it. Super messy and delicious. Of the 10 wings, one seemed to be half a drumstick, but the others were meaty enough. Waffle fries are average, but, of course, that means hella good.
Only four tables. Bathroom relatively clean. A huge roll of paper towels at every table.

Spicy wings even though I ordered mild, soggy waffle fries, and a cheese dip that tasted borderline rancid. I won’t go back.

I have been a customer of Wing Over since 2004 when I attended the University of Connecticut and frequented the Storrs location. In the past 2 months, I have ordered from your West Hartford location through Grub Hub multiple times. On three separate occasions, I have ordered extra sauce and have not received it. Last night 04/​07/​2015 the same thing happened. I ordered an extra side of Garlic Parmesan Sauce for $.075 and cheese sauces for $ 1.00. Upon receiving my delivery, the sauces were not there. I contacted grub hub and a representative named Cami contacted your West Hartford location. The self-​proclaimed supervisor stated to the representative that they had packed my order them self and had made sure that my sauces were in there. They even stated that the driver was NOT new so the driver couldn’t have missed it. They refused to refund my money and left a terrible taste in my mouth. This has become a performance issues. I am constantly being charged for items I am not receiving. While I appreciate the taste and quality of your product, your customer service is severely lacking. Ensuring that orders are correct, complete and timely are an essential part of providing food and delivery. Because of this, I am no longer interested in ordering any food for delivery from that location. This has been a terrible experience. If I happen to be near your one of your locations and can physically ensure I have all sauces that I have paid for & and ordered in my bag before I leave, I am not against that. However, delivery is most convenient for my current situation and I don’t see this happening in the future.
Please advise on why I was not given a full refund and why the alleged supervisor on duty 04/​07/​2015 around approximately 9:30pm refused to acknowledge their mistake and offer an apology? In most instances, when a business makes a mistake, the customer doesn’t leave. It is the way that the business handles the mistake afterwards that leads to customer retention or customer loss. Please process my refund that I am due.

The wings are hit or miss in West Hartford as far as tenderness. The sauce flavor is very inconsistent. The last couple orders have barely had any sauce at all. I said something about it to them when placing my last order which made me sick within 30 minutes of eating it. That was enough for to suspect foul play and never return to that place again.

Hear me out: this place is the ultimate comfort food, especially if you went to UConn and have cravings for 1am Wings Over Storrs, like I do. I always go for honey BBQ boneless with fries and a whole lot of blue cheese. Cheap, delivery is fast, and the ultimate indulgence.

Wings Over West has gotten better over the years, especially since they moved to Park Road.
I tend to order the same thing every time: DC-​3, Cajun BBQ with blue cheese. They never disappoint. I don’t care for their fries but not because they do anything wrong with them. They’re thick, crinkle cut; not my thing. The staff is very friendly and never seem to have a bad day. Parking is available in front, on the side street, and in back.

Good little pick up wing place, especially for the end of some drunken nights.
Service: I’ve bad better. Not friendly just there to take your order and your money and couldn’t care less.
Restaurant: not the cleanest place ever but it’s decent. Small counter with a register for you to order and pick up at and some tables to sit and eat at. No table service though.
Food: For boneless «wings» they’re great. Basically thick, juicy chicken tenders with your choice of sauce. I had the Jet Fuel Buffalo sauce and it was one of their hotter sauces but honestly wasn’t too hot at all. And it still had plenty of flavor. I also tried their Honey BBQ liked that a lot. These are not your typical small chicken nugget type boneless wings with mostly breading. These are big and all white meat.
For what the place is, the wings are good. Overall the plane is OK.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My girlfriend did pickup, came home and the wings were bad, no sauce and very dry. She brought our order back to get remade or get her money back. She came home in tears, the manager «Chris» became very aggressive with her and yelled at her in a store full of customers. This is unbelievable and hands down the worst management ever. Needless to say between the bad wings, but more over how they treat repeat customers, we will NEVER pay this place another dime. Thankful for competition, new customers on the market.

Sure, it’s nothing gourmet, but this is one of my favorite spots for lazy, late night delivery. It reminds me of college in the best way possible, Freshman Fifteen aside. I love the boneless honey barbecue wings; they are such a delicious, junky, guilty pleasure. Even right before they close, I’ve had pretty decent delivery times — never more than half an hour. Maybe it’s just luck on my end but either way, I’ll take it!

Well, I will never try this place ever again. I was just on hold to try and place my order for 10 minutes. Yes, you read that right, TEN MINUTES!!! I consider this to be ridiculous. I also tried ordering via the web, only to discover that the site wouldn’t allow me to save my address. Forget it! I am sure I can find another place to get my wing fix for a whole lot less hassle. This place will not be getting my money!

They get busy on party nights obviously because besides pizza what better thing is there than wings when your drinking? Boneless is the way to go for me, and my go to flavor is the garlic Parmesan. Don’t go there for the décor or the customer service, but the wings are great. Can’t say anything about the bone in wings, but the boneless are decent most of the time. Call ahead and expect to wait sometimes on busy nights for delivery or pick up.
