Haven’t been here since their early days. Brought my 2 boys here for lunch today and boy, have I missed this place!!! I got white rice, all veggies and tofu, with sesame oil and hot paste. Delish! Forgot how much I loved it, ate so fast, there was no need for me to pay the extra $ 1 for the clay pot. It was hot til the end. Both boys got beef with teriyaki, one got white rice, the other got the sweet potato noodles. We all tried the noodles and agreed we should have all got the noodles. Both boys LOVED it! They have already requested to go back again. Absolutely will bring them back soon

Simple and tasty. This place was my go-to last summer for a somewhat healthy takeout dinner. The bi bim bap is very simple and done well. I would recommend getting rice for the base instead of the noodles. All of the protein options were good. I especially like the spicy chicken, but be warned — it’s pretty spicy. For the sauce I recommend the lemon sauce. The other dishes I tried were good too. The spicy pork is pretty spot-on.

This place was a marvelous find when passing through West Hartford. The folks working there know Korean bibimbap — we didn’t try anything except for the«make your own» combination and both my g/f and I loved what we got. The options for veggies are a-plenty, and the possibility for glass noodles(sweet potato) instead of boring ol’ rice is a very welcome change. They’ll let you try sauces if you’re unsure and are eager to offer their suggestions if you’d prefer a recommendation on flavor combinations. Paul(one of the workers there) was great and loved to talk about the food with us — pleasant company and great food for the price.

Went back and it’s not as good as it used to be(at least when the owner is out and leaves the food to others). That’s the cost of doing well and expanding, I guess … but I’m very sad.

If you are new to Korean food and want to try something quick byte this is the place. We order chicken wings, steamed dumplings and bi bim bob with spicy chicken. Dumplings and wings were awesome. We liked the bi bim bob but could have been better. But food is good for the price. Staff is super friendly. Since it was our first visit they offered free beverages to us. I will surely go for second time.

Service is top notch. One man band handling the front. He was like a circus ringmaster and very welcoming. Nothing bad with the service, in fact, I appreciated his willingness to help me out as a first time customer. It was the food that brought me down. The customer in front of me was a first timer and I was able to hear the guy explain the process to him and as his first time, the worker even included a drink and miso soup(usually a lunch special) for free. Came my turn, I got same treatment and free drink/soup. I initially came in knowing I wanted hot stone rice bibimbap with all the veggie fixings and only spicy sauce but the man let me taste test all 4 sauces and convinced me to have them combined into my pot. Although he did divert me away from what I wanted, I will give him credit for showing what Pick&Mix was all about — which was not your usual Korean restaurant. I agreed with Thien N. that the bibimbap was missing something. I love Korean hot stone bibimbap and I expected the same taste from here. Pick&Mix is great for vegetarians and health seekers but their bibimbap is an Americanized version. They have expanded selection of veggies including broccoli, cabbage, bell peppers but are also missing ingredients usually found in bbbap like fermented fernbrake. He did tell me to try it and let know him know if I wanted more sauce in it but I could not bring myself to do it. Afraid it will only get spicier instead of flavorful or the meshing of sauces will detriment my entire dish and get saltier/bitter/or too sweet. The veggies were cut into large pieces making it difficult to spoon and feed. I did wish they had metal chopsticks/forks which could help a lot eating bibimbap or meat also on their menu.

Pick and Mix is welcoming as soon as you open the door. As I enter I was greeted by a very nice man behind the with a cheery smile and upbeat personality. Since I had viewed the menu in advance I knew exactly what I was getting. I ordered the lunch special Bi Bim Bap with a side of Miso soup and a drink. I chose sweet potatoes noodles with all of the fresh veggies offered(except onions), egg and tofu. After my order was cooked I chose from the sauces. I chose sesame oil with tad of teriyaki. Mmmmm. The sweet potatoe noodles paired well with the veggies, and sauce and the jalepenos added just the right amount of heat. The Miso soup was very good(not to salty). The sparkling water with tangerine added a sweet ending to a perfect meal. Total price $ 10. Bravo.

When you need some quick Korean fast-food, this place hits the spot. It reminds me of the Chipotle of Bibimbap. The weekly lunch specials are what bring me around — $ 10 gets you a customized bowl of bibimbap, miso soup, and a drink. Ordering for the first time can be a tad bit overwhelming. Choose your starch(white/brown rice or sweet potato noodles): the noodles are my favorite, all the veggies you want and as much as you want, and your protein(I like to do half chicken and half spicy chicken), then your sauce(FYI: they do have gluten free soy sauce option you can ask for!). It’s $ 1 extra to get it in a hot stone bowl with an egg, and I’d say it’s worth it! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the food is at a great price, and it’ll definitely do for a quick lunch stop. But if you’re looking for some impressive and more traditional Korean cuisine you may want to keep looking.

Love this place! I was told it’s like subway but Korean! So true :) you get to pick your carb, protein and unlimited veggies(amazing in my book). I chose spicy chicken bi bim bab with brown rice. Boy, was it spicy! I like spicy and this made my mouth on fire. My husband got the spicy pork special with white rice. We really enjoyed the casual atmosphere and friendly staff. They bring your order to you and didn’t make us pay until the end of our meal! I definitely will come back and try another chicken bi bim bab but with a different sauce. This time I did teriyaki — great flavor but am interested in the others. A must try for a quick meal in WeHa plus it’s only $ 9!!! And you get a small bowl of soup! Winner!

I was looking for some quick food in the area and stumbled upon this place. I came around 8PM on a Saturday and I guess that is near closing time. They pretty much ran out of everything(e.g. chicken, noodles) so I was given a few options to choose from. I ordered tofu with white rice to be on the healthier side and after that meal, I really did feel healthy. Despite the sauce they added, my bowl just tasted kind of bland. I added an extra fried egg to the bowl which added a little more flavour to the bibimbap. The bowl was kind of expensive imo for tofu & veggies mixed with rice. The workers were really nice though and I might try again with the other ingredients.

The place is small and there isn’t much seating. Lacks decorations but seems to be what the owners were going for. It has limited menu. The miso soup lacked flavor so did the dumplings. The noodles with the vegetables was great. They have a vegan option so i applaud them for that. Vegetables were fresh. The service was excellent. Very kind young gentleman at the front. His coworkers was lovely also. The price is affordable. Good place to have a quick, healthy and reasonably priced meal. I definitely recommend it, especially for my vegan brothers and sisters.

Speedy service, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and prompt service — Pick & Mix excels in customer service. They’re especially good if you’ve been craving an affordable bowl of Korean food. But altogether, the bibimbap, spicy pork and bulgogi are just ok. Stopped by recently because I’ve been really craving good kim chi and bulgogi. The P&M team was very personable and they were very adamant in making sure that my sit-in meal was great, which it was. More kim chi? Extra hot sauce? Sure, right away! The bulgogi was tender but a bit on the sweeter side. The spicy pork was flavorful, but I felt like there was a lot of Korean BBQ sauce. Haven’t had a chance to try the BBQ eel. The dumplings were delicious. The steamed vegetable and beef dumplings are what I typically order, and they don’t disappoint here. There is a great lunch special from 11am-3pm daily: bibimbap, cup of soup, and a can of soda for $ 9 – 10. Anything in a hot stone bowl is delicious, but the bimbimbap was just ok. Maybe I’m a harsh critic, but whether it be with rice or noodles, I always feel like there was something missing and/or leave wanting/desiring more. Ask any local, and they’ll tell you there are many things CT lacks when it comes to Asian food. Korean cuisine in certainly one of those things, and being one of very few venues to go for Korean — Pick & Mix is just ok. Mon — Sat: 11am — 9pm Closed Sundays

I was excited to see that there was a quick service Korean spot in WeHa, but after eating here I would say that this place is okay. The chicken wings and spicy pork special thingy my boyfriend got were good, but the steamed dumplings were disappointing. Unlike most places that charge you more for fried dumplings, this place charges you extra for steamed. The pork dumplings tasted a lot more than vegetarian due to the lack of meat filling. When I inquired about that, they said ¨We get that a lot.¨ Def concerning! I make my own dumplings once in a blue moon, so this was a bummer. Dining in, they will serve you a bowl of miso soup, so that is a plus. The place was bumpin, so it is liked, but these flavor notes aren´t the ones I am looking for.

Great food! I got the bibimbap with the stone bowl and so did my partner. The meats and vegetables were fresh and the entire meal was very flavorful! The meal comes with miso soup. The soup was all right, and not as flavorful as the rest of the meal. The cashier was also really nice and overall we had a great experience. We will definitely be back!

I came here with Joe B. for an epic meal. The menu is simple, but the flavors are not. Definitely opt for the stone pot if you’re getting the bibimbap; that crispy rice is clutch. You can customize the toppings, and I’d say opt for them all. The tofu was kind of meh, even with the sesame oil, but the beef is definitely the best. The bulgogi is definitely work checking out, as there’s an abundance of meat. The dumplings were ok, but they’re not critical to having a great meal. I look forward to the opportunity to come chow down again.

I hate to admit it but when I first heard about this place, I totally snubbed my nose at it. As a proud Korean, I balked at the thought of a «fast food» bibimbap place. It sounded like a Korean Subway … And it is! But in all the best ways possible! I seriously find myself here on a weekly basis. It just makes my little Korean heart happy. The ingredients are always incredibly fresh and the lunch prices are very reasonable, especially considering that the meal is made to order and comes with soup and a beverage. The staff is very friendly. I generally take my food to go but they do have a few tables if you care to dine in. It’s a simple but clean place. The bibimbap is the real star here, although I have tried the mandu(Korean dumplings) and those are yummy, too! Give it a whirl. It’s perfect for people new to Korean food!

No no no no no no no no no. You all are crazy. So I had the bi bim bap and pork dumplings. I can forgive the fact that the Bi Bim Bap bore very little resemblance to the Korean dish I am used to. I am no purist. BUT: The vegetables were unseasoned, as far as I could tell. There was no kimchi — I am hoping they were only temporarily out, because I feel a side of kimchi is essential for bi bim bap. The egg was… scrambled? Did they even have fernbrake on the menu? I ordered beef, but that sure wasn’t bulgogi. It seemed… processed somehow. Anyway, it wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t any good. I mean, it was just a bunch of plain, unseasoned, chopped vegetables tossed into a bowl with some processed meat, then covered is salty sauce. I guess that’s good for shoveling a large amount of salty carbs into your face, but there was no craft there. If you are going to veer way of course on the cuisine, at least do something inventive with the dish. So that would take it down to three-star territory. The fact that it cost me $ 10 takes it down to two. But then there were the dumplings. If you are running a restaurant, don’t microwave 5 – 6 frozen, store-bought dumplings and expect me to feel good about paying $ 6 for them. That’s inexcusable. And I am pretty sure those were frozen *vegetable* dumplings, unless you bought the particularly cheap pork dumplings that have no actual meat in them. And when you microwave those«steamed» dumplings(and I can tell you microwaved them, because the edges developed that brittle, crispy texture that comes from overcooking frozen dumplings in the microwave), make sure you cook them all the way through. Yup, never coming back here.

Affordable, quick, large portioned American Style Korean Bimbimbap and select Korean menu items. Pick your starch(white/brown) pick your protein(bugogi beef, pork, or chicken) also available as spicy, and pick your vegetables! Comparable to Korean fast-food, or to Subway. Top it off with your choice of hot paste, teriyaki, sesame oil, or even mix all three and ENJOY! Limited drink and tea options available, I recommend eating inside while it’s still piping hot, and you can even pay $ 1 more and have your Bimbimbap served in a sizzling stone bowl. Even though the atmosphere consists of a few tables and a sitting bar, it’s worth chowing down at the restaurants. I’ve been here a few times, and have even seen young professionals come in and pick up lunch orders for an entire office at once, so call ahead if you are short on time, or during a lunch break. The dumplings are also tasty and hit the spot! $ 5 for 6, and add an extra $ 1 if you want them steamed. After you’re stuffed, you will still have plenty of leftovers for the next day or a midnight snack!

Healthy, tasty and quick lunch. It’s set up like a Korean version of a subway or chipotle where you set up your own bi bim bop bowl. I ordered it with sweet potato noodles, veggies and 50% spicy chicken/50% regular chicken with the soy lemon sauce.(The gentleman warned me it is very spicy, and half spicy made it perfect). This is a great lunch deal! Ten bucks for a big bowl, a fancy drink(sparkling water) and miso soup. The regular chicken may have been a tad dry but overall still good. The service is quick and the indoor décor is cute and clean.

Waiting time: none. There were customers here and there but for the time we went at 6:30 pm there were no lines. Staff: Quick and friendly service :) very helpful. Couldn’t ask for more from them Food: fresh. Just enough choices to choose from and easy to pick. Customization to suit anyone. Stone pot makes it very warm! If dining in, also get complimentary miso soup and staff assembles napkin with utensils. Price: I expected slightly less since it seems like a fast eating place. Regular bibimbap was $ 8.95, with the stone bowl it’s +$ 1. Environment: café like, casual, between take out and dine in. Seats along the wall and three tables for party of 4. We had 6 people and so we combined two tables together since not many customers were there. Definitely not restaurant sit down quality if you’re taking someone for formal dinner! Would definitely go again for the food! I know exactly what I’m expecting and bibimbap all the way! I am a hard critic with high standards so 4⁄5 is very good!
