It has been awhile since I have written a review, but its time to get back to it. Oh, little Beachland Tavern, what a great local spot for good beer and fresh food. This place serves the traditional bar food, but really makes the extra effort with dishes like their steak risotto. That was my first meal at Beachland and it is definitely a favorite. Their sandwiches especially the meatloaf, are very tasty. Also you have to try their«Kitchen in the Sink» wings, they are fantastic, great bold flavor and very filling. Overall Beachland Tavern is nothing fancy, but I feel it was never meant to be, just great food and excellent service. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area for lunch and/or dinner. Enjoy.

I ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich with fries and my fiancé ordered the longhorn sandwich with Mac and cheese. Good was delicious! We didn’t think the Mac and cheese would be great, but now I want to come back and order the dinner size. Atmosphere was nice, service was quick and server was friendly. Overall good experience, will definitely come back.

Going to this local restaurant has been on my list since they opened their doors. In an effort to support local businesses we stopped in for Mother’s Day dinner. The kitchen exhaust fan must be malfunctioning because the restaurant was smokey we left there smelling like smokey fried food. The waiter was slow and seem to be confused you know its bad when you see a table that was seated after you arrived receive their food before you have placed you order! My daughter and I had the turkey burger it was a tad bit more charred then we would have preferred but we did enjoy our fries. My Mom had the beef tips, mashed potatoes and asparagus she really enjoyed her food which is why I am giving this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1. We live and learn… you have to live little to learn a litte, today we learned that this restaurant is not for us.

In the past I have served in the food business I have a few key points that need to meet my expectations. Call me selfish but I was set with the same expectations when serving customers. To start off my experience we didn’t exactly get seated by the hostess but it was on our part. It was the first time ever coming when we walked in my boyfriend saw his cousin who was there for happy hour and she gave us her table. However we didn’t get told who our waitress was going to be. First a guy came over cleaned the table off then another girl came and cleaned the table saying she would be back with menus. Few minutes later another girl came with the menus and asked our drink order. We over looked the menu and had decided by the time she came back. Not once did she properly introduce herself(she ended up being our waitress). Our food was delivered in a timely manor. My boyfriend got The Longhorn sandwich which he liked a lot but did state that one half of the sandwich had more onion than the other. I got the PEI Mussels very good only complaint is the bread was a little to burnt for my liking. Once we received our food(from a food runner) she asked if we needed anything he asked for a beer and our waitress came back but not once asked how the food was or if we needed anything. She only came back to clear the plates which then we then asked for the bill which is where we found out her name on the bill. Her name was Brianna Overall food was very good but service wise I was not to pleased.

Very solid 4 star place. Happy hour all day Sunday is really good. Lots of 6 dollar apps to choose from. The plate of cheese fries was huge. The wings were also very solid. Service was quick. Dollar off bottle beers and 2 dollar off mixed drinks during happy hour is also a huge plus. Only problem they don’t have coors light, bud light, ect on draft u have to get a bottle. they have a good amount of free parking too which is a big plus.

We have been going to the same places for a while now and decided to mix it up and go to the Beachland. Kinda tired on the inside but don’t let that turn you away… keep going down the long corridor to the hostess stand as you will be rewarded. The staff was very pleasant and willing to substitute menu items when we asked without any trouble. My husband and I both ordered the same exact thing: marinated flank steak with sweet potatoes and asparagus. I opted for broccolini in lieu of asparagus and he swapped his sweets for garlic mashed. Steak was cooked beautifully, both sea of potatoes were creamy and delicious and the veggies were perfection. Our daughter ordered penne with butter so hey… its penne with butter! She remarked that it had the perfect amount of butter on it. and for her that scored big points! We opted to order a dessert as well which is something we almost never do and went for the ice cream sundae. For $ 6 it represented. Tall, lots of ice cream, loads of fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. My daughter devoured most of it and of course I had to help! Really enjoyed our meal and our experience at Beachland Tavern. Great atmosphere, super casual, good for kids of all ages, but not inexpensive.(Although I did have leftovers!) Three of us after tax and tip it was about $ 70. Although that did include a dessert and a premium draft. I opted for water all night and that glass was never empty which is a huge shout out to the staff. nothing worse then going to sip your water and finding nothing but ice cubes! So if you find yourself hungry in Elmwood and you don’t want pizza, stop by the Beachland, you’ll be happy you did!

Stopped in for a quick, casual dinner. The food was good. Pot Roast was very tasty and eggplant and ziti was good. Unfortunately, the dining room didn’t seem as to be as clean as it should be. They could use some design help, too, in the dining area. But — the menu was interesting, the bar scene was vibrant, and we will be back again to try more of the menu, which is very reasonably priced.

Went here to grab a late dinner after going to a concert downtown. Kitchen closes at midnight but the service was so good you wouldn’t have even noticed. My friend got the meatloaf dinner, I got a patty melt and boyfriend got smoked chicken wings. All three of us were pleased with our orders. I will say pass on the poutine, using blocs of cheese doesn’t give the same impact as cheese curds. Great, clean space with HD TVs.

Once again… AWESOME. Came here tonight, had the slow smoked wings and a ribeye steak. Unbelievable how good it was. The steak was cooked perfect and served with a twice baked potato which was also spot on. Green beans cooked to a tee, not soft but cooked and had a snap to each bite. If I ever had a love affair it would be with Beachland Tavern.

Lunchtime visit with my wife on a nice sunny Sunday. Quickly seated we were greeted by a nice waitress who promptly took our drink order. Drinks are served then we order the chow. We order off the lunch specials menu… a bowl of Sausage Barley soup to share, Mom’s Meatloaf for wife and a Chicken and Mushrooms dish for me. Soup is served and we both liked it a lot. Nice pieces of sausage mixed with a good amount of veggies and barley. Tasted freshly made. The main dishes are served. My wife’s meatloaf dish was a bacon wrapped meatloaf beef mixture served over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Again very well seasoned and it too tasted very good. My chicken and mushrooms were served with penne pasta all mixed with Alfredo sauce. Yummy for sure. With such good service and food why a(4) instead of(5) rating… basically we are talking small details here. The bar portion of this tavern has some character but, further back where we were seated the place turns into a very open simple space with not much atmosphere. This, and the slightly higher prices charged bug me a bit. The tavern itself is located in a renovated strip mall on a busy street. So basically it just isn’t priced correctly for the location and atmosphere provided. Again, this was a(4) star experience as far as the food and service goes so we enjoyed our visit. I recommend that you check it out for yourself. I hope you enjoy it too.

Used to come here all the time when I lived in west Hartford area. Food very good. Service is hit or miss. If you are lucky enough to get a good server. Hostess seemed a little rude, but I manage a restaurant and understood she was stressed out. Seemed understaffed this past Saturday night. Waitress was too busy, barely introduced herself. No specials like I usually assume they have. Didn’t see any managers. Beer selection is decent. Philly steak spring rolls are great. Mac and cheese and Bostonian sandwich are my favorites. A good place to go when there are seats.

Beachland is an excellent pub with admirable aspirations to fine dining. We’ve lived in West Hartford for the better part of a year, but didn’t try Beachland until a recent Sunday evening. We had actually tried to eat here once before, but the line was out the door. Even on a Sunday, business was brisk and the tables were mostly filled. We were seated promptly, and service throughout the meal was friendly and attentive. My Guinness was a perfect pour, but in the main the bar strikes me as a place to drink, not to talk about what you’re drinking. The bar has a solid if not especially imaginative selection of beer on draft and bottle, but some regional breweries like Two Roads and City Steam are represented. The cocktail list leans heavily towards martinis(8 of them, to be precise), which is of course the bartenders’ privilege, but it might be nice if they at least acknowledged the existence of whiskey. If you like wine enough to consider ordering it, then you will probably realize that the $ 6 – 12 they charge per glass would be enough to buy a bottle of most anything on their wine list. Better to stick with the martinis. The thing my fiancée appreciated most about the bar was that it is nicely separated from the main dining room, and throughout dinner we could both hear each other and NOT hear the TVs, which was excellent. She ordered the sliced beef tenderloin salad for dinner, and I ordered the meatloaf. I won. The thick slice of meatloaf was wrapped in bacon, enthroned on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes, attended by a squadron of broccolini(which I subbed for creamed spinach), and protected by a thick moat of gravy. It was beautiful on the plate and seriously delicious. The salad was trying so hard to impress my fiancée that it was afraid of admitting to her that it was in fact a salad. It was drenched in dressing, about about equal parts greens and red peppers and blue cheese. There also was a solid 6 – 8 ounces of tenderloin. If you don’t actually like salad but want credit for ordering one, this is for you. If you really do want a salad, then just order a burger and be done with it. We will definitely be back. The meatloaf was transcendent, and makes us want to try more of the menu. The service was on point. We weren’t there to close down the bar tonight, but I’d love to watch a game on one of the big screens above the bar.

Finally I get in here for something other than smoked kitchen wings! I’ve been here quite a few times off a recommendation for the best wings in Hartford, and they are definitely in the running. The problem is, I ALWAYS get the wings. So for once, I sat down and looked the menu over. I grabbed the Longhorn sandwich with fries and mac and cheese(after heavy enticing from our waitress). Customer service was stellar; attentiveness you don’t see at most places. Our waitress saw my daughter with the not-exactly-pleased face from across the dining area and instinctively came over and offered to add more chocolate; much to my 9 year old’s delight! She filled my water every time within seconds of my cup being emptied. Very very attentive. Believe me, I tipped accordingly! Kelly, the waitress was absolutely wonderful. It was almost bewildering, seeing as how I’ve been to much fancier(and more expensive) restaurants and have had far worse service there. The food came out in 10 minutes even though mac is «made to order». Amazing! At first, my thoughts were that the mac and cheese was very anticlimactic. I was sure I was done after the second spoonful. But after I added some salt(a lot of salt), it came to life. My sandwich was simply perfect; good amount of meat and nice buttery toasted bread. The food was hot, and the McDonalds-like french fries were wildly addictive. For the food alone this is a 4 star rating, but add in that great service and anything short of a 5 is unfair.

Beachland Tavern is good, but it never really knocks my socks off. I have been here four or five times. Service is normally adequate, sometimes it can be a little slow. I’ve never met a rude or incompetent staff member, but when they’re busy sometimes they seem understaffed. The menu is pretty diverse and the prices aren’t bad. I’ve tried a few of their salads and never had anything bad. I’ve had several sandwiches and only had one bad one which fell victim to extremely burnt bread. There are plenty of good beers on tap, wine and a full bar for mixed drinks. One memorable menu item — Their grilled shrimp is actually very good on a Caesar salad! Overall, this is a good place to go for lunch, but there are probably better restaurants around if you’re willing to drive ten or fifteen minutes.

This place is solid. A casual pub/restaurant feel with great food and plenty of tv’s to catch any of the televised sporting events. I usually sit in the bar, but the restaurant is nice as well. It’s not your typical stuffy atmosphere of some of the other restaurant/bars in West Hartford. I recommend ordering the«smoked-kitchen sink» wings. They are phenomenal and will rival the best wings you may have had anywhere else. I recently tried the macaroni and cheese, which comes with chicken, bacon, and carmelized onions. It was phenomenal! There is also a good selection of sandwiches and entrees to choose from. I have eaten several of them and never had a bad experience. Atmosphere, good service, and tasty food makes this place a home run.

This place has some great food! The cons to be honest is that the food doesn’t come out piping hot and that the service starts off good and ends off questionable… BUT… Again, this place has really good food. The staff is very nice and helpful. I came here with 2 kids and 2 of my girlfriends. Those wings are amazing as ever! Smokey, falling right off the bone, full of flavor. And guess what… if you heat it up the next day and have it for lunch because your friend refused to cook, it tastes just as good! Enough tvs to watch sports, good selection of wine and reasonable price. Happy I came here.

Being out late for work, we ended up at Beachland Tavern because it was the ONLY place open in the area. That being said, we were pleasantly surprised! This little tavern is very cute with lots of parking and tvs to watch the game. I typically avoid taverns due to their usual lack of vegetarian options and was shocked to see how many Beachland provides. I ended up ordering the stuffed zucchini with quinoa and it was amazing! Just the right amount of food and full of flavor and protein. My friend ordered a burger(which came with a MOUND of fries) and loved it as well. Definitely check this spot out!

This is a bar and restaurant… it looks like a bar and restaurant. They have a few outdoor seats(which are nice), a bar area with some high tops and the regular dining room area. The food ranges from appetizers to sandwiches to entrees. I opted for the sliced tenderloin sandwich and it was decent — served on bread with cheese and onions. It was a little dry(I wish I had asked for extra steak sauce or range or something), but it was tasty enough. They have about 7 – 10 beers on tap, a variety of cocktails and some wines too. Overall, this is a solid choice if you’re looking for a meal and a beverage. I’ll be back.

I could have been more satisfied with the money spent. Now I always think of it as would I go there again and was the money well spent. I wish I can say better. Overall, wished food was better because ultimately I go out for the food itself regardless of what kind of environment it’s like. Did not exceed expectations one bit. No bread was provided which I hoped for. Appetizer small plate was dirty. There were small black crumbs on it and it was oily. Environment: I like the booths, bar area and the open space. Good for a variety of customers whether you’re a professional going for happy hour or college students on a casual weekend meal or on a date. Was not busy at normal dinner type on Wednesday night. We stayed from 6:30−9 and didn’t feel rushed. Food: I was going to order something from the menu but waitress introduced the special menu and the turkey shepards pie sounded pretty comforting. I chose after she advised it when asking since the special menu is only every so often which made sense. Honestly, it wasn’t worth $ 16. I could have been happier with wings or a burger. No food presentation and amount was small. Maybe it was just bad luck and poor food choice because others who chose other things other than the special menu looked pretty delicious. I would def try the burgers or chicken tenderloin next time! Definitely no sandwiches or special menu crap thinking I’m getting a good unique dish when I’m not. The flavor got old after a few bites and I was still hungry after finishing the plate. Service: waitress was nice and friendly; she did check up on us every once in a while and asked for drinks and how everything was. Location: nice to have parking lot with plenty of parking.
