A gem of a find! We’re happy to have discovered this place after being without quality sushi and sashimi for the past year. We chose the deluxe sashimi platter and the Sakura bento box, and we were not disappointed. Definitely worth the price, delicious and so pretty! You’ve got to try the tempura ice cream, too. Service was excellent, everyone was very sweet. Next time we’ll opt for hibachi. I caught a glimpse of the show from our table, and the chef had some impressive tricks up his sleeve. There is no doubt we’ll be returning!

Steak teriyaki Bento box was very good. I ordered medium rare and it was definitely medium rare. Perfect. There rolls could have been better and the green tea doesn’t come in a pot. They come and pour it in your cup, which is fine but it was warm. Not hot, and it tasted like it came from a tea bag. Overall good and I’d go back!

We brought our family for hibachi dinner and it was delicious. We ordered shrimp hibachi and the coconut shrimp appetizer. The service was great and portions were large. We will definitely come back again!

Terrible terrible service. I called to place a very large order at 11:45, knowing that the restaurant doesn’t open until 12, so they could begin making it whenever they could. It could be at 12, for all I care. I call back a few times, and was hung up on twice. At 12, the girl answers, «Hello?» I didn’t know if I was calling a house or a business, but then I was hung up on again! I called back and she answered again but with a somewhat professional greeting. I asked to speak to the manager, and she told me she was the manager. I told her that I was hung up on several times and at this point I didn’t want to order any more but wanted to make a complaint to the owner. She said, in a very disrespectful tone, «Well, we don’t open until 12.» Excuse me, I will take my money elsewhere. She probably sat and watched the clock, refusing to answer the phone until 12 because she doesn’t have to. Unbelievable.

Haven’t been here for about a year and decided to have a quick lunch. Was very surprised to see how pedestrian the lunch menu had become and how the prices for extremely mediocre food had risen! I ordered the sesame chicken and asked for it spicy. They served me an overly syrupy and no-​spice chicken that was so rubbery, slippery and small-​pieced that I had to use a fork to keep the chicken from slipping off the chopsticks. I realize that I may be nit-​picking, but the food was really not very good and loaded with MSG. Sushi/​Asian choices are definately limited in West Grove, PA, but drive the extra 3 miles, or so, and go to Saki Hana in Avondale.

This place is a hidden gem. It is in a shopping center which to be honest I was a little hesitant on going because of that alone. I figured how good can a shopping center restaurant be? To my surprise, the answer is it can be excellent. The staff were all very nice and accommodating, the food was fresh, tasty, and delicious, and you can tell the restaurant itself is kept very clean. Each plate was like a piece of art, great attention to detail all around. It’s also a byob with no corkage fee. Thank you for the great experience, will definitely be visiting again, and recommending to others.

My partner and I already know that the sushi is bomb, so we decided to get adventurous and each ordered a Bento Box. For such a great price it was extremely satisfying (miso soup, house salad, and then a bento box with compartments of a teriyaki meat, gyoza/​shumai, tempura, and your choice of 1 roll). It filled us to the brim and was an excellent overview of the talents in the Sakura kitchen! I especially appreciated the flat rate in spite of all the choices you can make. The teriyaki scallops were a great portion and delicious.
I also have to note that the miso soup here is actually better than one of the more popular and trendy sushi places in Wilmington. Sakura definitely does not present itself as a J’ville restaurant. I’m elated to see the restaurant is still doing well in spite of its ill-​fated predecessors.

Lunches come with a soup and salad which is a nice touch.
We will need to stop in for the hibachi some night.

Garnet Valley, PA
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner after a weekend away. We were hesitant but the place was amazing! Very clean restaurant, friendly staff and conveniently close to home. I love how they cook the food right in front of you like other hibachi’s we’ve been to and are more than happy to make your dinner the way YOU like it. We are critical about places we eat but we honestly couldn’t have left happier! Will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Wasn’t sure how this place would be, considering it’s in the Jville shopping center and it took so long to open… but we had to try it. It is GREAT and so glad that the Jennersville area has this option. The staff is always gracious and sincere. We have been here now 3 times: each time we have had a different hibachi chef. They all have their own wonderful, entertaining, and personalized show. Any entrée coming off the hibachi grill is a generous portion as well as delicious!!! Perfectly cooked chicken, steak, shrimp in a fantastic sauce. Wonderful fried rice and a beautiful medley of fresh vegetables. If you are not in the mood for hibachi, the sushi here is very good as well as standard menu items.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is high quality and simply delicious!!!

Good stuff, sushi is better than the prior owners as well. Hibachi is the typical show but it is well performed, and the food was quite good. Employees were very nice, and service was quick. For the record it is clear this is not the same prior owners — it looks like the owners now are having trouble convincing people, and with good cause after the problems the last place had with the health department. It’s unfortunate that stigma still hangs a bit over the new place when they share nothing in common except the floor space and some menu items. Give them a shot, we have been pleasantly surprised!

Soooooo tasty!!! The chef brought out white tuna wrapped around onion fried and so sweet. Delicious!

This restaurant has a regular dining area, sushi bar and a hibachi dining area. My husband and I have been there a couple of times since it opened and sat at the hibachi each time. It was great. I think the price was also better than other hibachi restaurants. The food was great, the chef was awesome! We will definitely be back!

Moved to the West Grove area last year and were excited to have a Thai and Sushi place right down the road, but it closed shortly after. Just recently they re-​opened as Sakura. My wife and I went in there last night and were extremely pleased with the staff, the atmosphere, and most importantly the quality of the food. We had Hibachi, and I had some sushi to start. I was so looking forward to the Hibachi that I only had 2 pieces of maguro (Tuna Sushi) and it was perfect. The soup was delicious as was the salad. Our chef was great, and we had a good time. I have been to many Hibachi restaurants in my life and I have to say this ranks above the Benihana’s of the world in my book. We will definitely be back.
Oh and it is BYOB with a liquor store right next store so you can still enjoy your Sake with your meal.

My wife and I went there today and had a great experience. We both had hibachi meals that were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We especially enjoyed the salad dressing on the salad that came with the hibachi. We also each got a small sushi roll as an appetizer. Both were prepared beautifully and tasted just as good as they looked.
The service was excellent with all the performance you might expect to see as the hibachi meal is cooked right in front of you. We were seated with a family that included two small children who were a little fussy until the chef began to cook keeping them engaged and entertained. Before departing he also made each one a sword from balloons. The couple was thrilled to have the kids entertained and not have to drive all the way into Newark for the hibachi experience.
I have already been studying the menu planning a return to try some of the other meals.
