The atmosphere is nice would be a great place to just come and have drinks which is all I will do next time. Started with the nachos and they forgot the meat which was fine they brought some out. No flavor to the meat though. Philly sandwich is all cheese and no flavor also the meatloaf sandwich is a pass, not good at all. Our waitress was very nice and patient with us well I tried to decide on a drink and returned my food.

Service and ambiance was fine. However, we stopped one evening just to have an appetizer. The so-called nachos we ordered turned out to be a very high priced bag of chips. With the amount of cheese and beef on the platter, I’m sure they could made 50 of these and still had beef and cheese left from a one pound package. Haven’t been back since.

Ordered a pizza and was cold like it had been a frozen type. Waiter reordered another and it was below average with very little favor. Will not be a customer again.

This is the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant/bar in Fargo ND. I invited a group of 10 girl to come here before an event at the Scheels arena. We have had 4 different servers in the hour and a half we have been here. Our first drink took 25 minutes to come. We still have not received our food and now have to leave for the event. I’m so disappointed in the experience.

Warm beer and cold food. That’s what our experience was at The District. We were there for Happy Hour, and there were very few people there, so I don’t know why the food(Greek Meatballs) came out so cold. Also, there was too much lettuce on the plate as filler for only 3 meatballs. And the beer from the taps was warm too!

Good food good beer. The wine flight was good. Nice atmosphere. The dirtier tots were awesome. Molson on tap. Creative sandwiches and burgers. Gabby’ grilled cheese is worth a taste.

The District has an average patio, an ever so slightly above average beer list, and a mediocre at best menu. We sat on the patio, which has a nice lay-out, however some of the umbrellas had broken ribs, couple that with the liquor logos on them and it all slides into tacky territory. We were served super fast, our waiter was great, but that’s where the greatness stops at The District. They do have a lot of beers on tap, but it’s the same list that you can get pretty much anywhere in town that offers craft beer, nothing super original is on it. The menu offers some random apps, flatbread pizza(all of which can be ordered as regular pizza), sandwiches, and burgers, nothing special there. As for the meal itself, we started with the cheese and meat plate that did have some good elements, but had a far too small meat portion. My significant other ordered a pulled pork sandwich which was very meh and the tots which were pretty bland. I ordered the OMG! flatbread and it was decent, but just not constructed well at all: I’d take a bite and get only sauce, then take another bite and get only greens, and so on and so forth. Really not impressive. For dessert I got the Kahlua Crème Brulee, that had some good flavors, but didn’t seem cooked to order at all which is a big no-no. The hard caramel top didn’t crack when hit with the spoon, it just kind of mushed into the custard, it’s like it had sat around all day getting softer and softer. Then we got the check and couldn’t help but laugh, it was extremely overpriced for what we got. We can go several places in Fargo, pay the same amount or even less for a far superior meal. The District was so very very underwhelming. While the service is good and the décor is nice, the menu isn’t great and the kitchen can’t quite keep up with few up-scaled elements that are in it. Plus, they’re really reaching with their prices.

Holy cow! Just went there for lunch and I am already telling all my coworkers about it. The food was phenomenal. I was very nervous when I sat down and looked at their menu as I’m a very plain Jane eater and they had a lot of textures and flavors I wouldn’t regularly go for. Also a little more expensive than i would have thought($ 15 for some of their burgers) so it was nice to know that your portions make up for it. I stayed safe and got the pulled pork with wasabi slaw on the side along with a side of tater tots. My coworkers got the shrimp tacos with sweet potato fries and the Firebird(pulled chicken with cheese and pineapple) and sweet potato fries. I couldn’t believe the size of the fries and the tots. Also not sure what sauce was served with my tots but it was delicious as well. I can’t wait to go back and try those fries!

Fun modern feel to a high end bar. The service was great and the food was outstanding. The selection of tap beer AND wine is impressive. I recommend the District Burger and the sweet potato fries with the maple aioli. So far, it’s the best burger I’ve had in Fargo!

Great addition to W Fargo! There is a sign now letting you know to seat yourself which is helpful. Great patio and well designed, modern interior. Fantastic selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. Wine on tap is a unique, cool feature. Mac Attack burger has been my favorite by far. I like that their drink specials are all day rather than just for a few hours! The weekend brunch is really fantastic too, especially the $ 4 build your own Bloody Mary!

I’ve been to the District a couple times now and I have to say that it just seems hit or miss. The first time I went, it felt like the menu had many more options. I may be wrong, but I think they made adjustments to it shortly after opening. Regardless, the first time I was there, our app was amazing(some kind of smoked salmon — it may have been omitted or a special because it wasn’t on the menu when we went back.), but our server wasn’t good. The second time, our server was awesome, but the food was awful. I had the Shroom Boom and it was just not good at all. The burger looked and tasted like a frozen patty and the«mushroom ragu» looked and tasted like canned mushrooms… and my side salad had lettuce that was breaking down. One of my friends had the shrimp tacos and that wasn’t up to par either. The coleslaw(which looked like it was made with bottled dressing) was saturated to the point of making the tortilla soggy. It just seems like it’s too inconsistent. Not sure if I’ll go back, which makes me sad because I love the idea of wine on tap!

I’ve been here now for happy hour and for lunch, and I’m so excited to have a great restaurant close to my office! I’ve seated myself on their awesome patio(yes, there is now a «seat yourself» sign at the entrance), and every time the wait staff was out to help us within MOMENTS of sitting down. Service has been outstanding! I loved the sangria, and the beer selection looks really good. I ordered the mac N cheese burger my first &3rd visit, and the Salty Pig flatbread the 2nd time. The burger was tasty, total comfort food, and on my first visit was perfectly done and yummy. But the second time I ordered it, the burger patty was far too rare(and trust me, I’m a 4-H/FFA alum, I know my doneness scale — this was close to raw in the center!) Flatbread was pretty good, my lukewarm reception of it has more to do with my picky eating habits rather than with the actual food quality/prep. All that said, I’m sure I will be back — based on the quality of atmosphere, service & drink menu, this place is definitely worth giving some time for them to get their consistency issues figured out.

It hurts my heart to say this, but I’ve been here a few times now and have to agree with the rest of the reviewers. I still stand by my original review that the atmosphere, service, and drinks are top notch and awesome! However, the food has been hit or miss where sometimes it’s really great, and other times it’s bland/not worth it. Hoping this improves, and I still love coming to this place!

The place looks great(patio is awesome) and the drinks are good, but the food is bland. The menu looks good, but the actual taste is not what you would expect.

I agree with the previous reviews, the beer selection, location and patio are nice. The entrance was confusing, no host stand but no seat yourself sign. The food was just awful. For $ 12 we had 3 dry lamb meatballs(lamb is the juiciest and fattest meat!!!) leaving me to question what was in that meatball. Accompanying the dry meatballs was a dehydrated red sauce and some dry pita bread. We also had a flatbread. It was better but still just OKAY. Nothing to write home about. Additionally they didn’t even have red bull so we weren’t interested in staying for another cocktail as red bull vodkas are what we switch to after beer and wine. WEWANTTOLIKEYOU. Hoping to come back in a few months and turn this into a 5 star review.

The two stars is mostly for inconsistency of the food. The space and patio are great. With a little training in the front and back of the house this place has the potential to be amazing. When you walk in there isn’t a host stand but there also isn’t a sign telling people to seat themselves. The first time we came we stood around without knowing what to do. The second time we asked if we could sit on the patio and were told yes but hung out for a while before someone came out. She apologized because she wasn’t aware we were out there. We asked if the umbrella could be put up because of the sun but were told they kept falling down from the wind. We did notice the stands under the table didn’t have sand or water in them which might be why. :) The major issue is there is not any consistency in the food or drinks. We ordered our drinks and 60 minutes later they finally arrived. The server did apologize saying there was an issue with the tickets and there was only one bartender. But then we noticed all of the tables around us were getting their drinks even though we were sat way before them. After such a long wait for the drinks and asking why the other tables had been served without a clear explanation we were a little surprised they weren’t comped. My husband ordered the«dark and stormy» and the first time it had a lime and mint(not usual) and the second time was lacking any garnish. The first time I ordered the gabby grilled cheese it came with real apple slices but the second time it arrived with some kind apple jam. It was too sweet. They don’t ask you how you want your burger prepared and it was overcooked and dry. Please get the kinks out because we really want to like your place!

Beer selection is great! I ordered a $ 9 grilled cheese… supposed to be cheddar with green apples and bacon. Flavor combo should work… but the cheese was tasteless. I think it was two slices of that waxy American cheese that is in the plastic envelope. I had a dog that loved that cheese… me, not so much. :) It tasted like apples on white toast. Sad. Two stars because I loved my beverage and our waitress was excellent!
