Price and speed– these are the two reasons to go here instead of renting from the mountain. The price is 25.99 to rent here and it’s 40 at the mountain. There was no line and so it took only 20 minutes for the entire transaction. The mountain is a chaotic mess. Great customer service– they seemed nice and were helpful. Zero problems with the equipment.

Overall terrible experience here. The boss is a complete crook. He promised me upon purchase that I could bring all the equipment back Monday as long as I didn’t ski Sunday(I didn’t) and only pay for a 3 day rental. When I came back at 2 on Monday, he had his employee insist to me that I had to pay for an extra day. I told him that the owner had promised me a 3 day price. The employee then called the owner, who said that he never made an agreement, then refused to talk to me. Just a total A-hole move. So I’m never bringing my business back here again, and neither should you.

I took my daughters up to Mount Snow for a weekend. We decided to stop into High Altitude after a friend mentioned them to us. My oldest daughter got her skis tuned and my younger two needed rentals. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. Overall, we had a great experience.

I headed up for the day to ski at Mt. Snow on a Saturday before Christmas super excited to get on the slopes. My friends and I were heading to the slopes for the first time during the season and wanted to get our skis ground and waxed before hitting the slopes. We gout the gold package which was $ 30/set of skis. Here we thought the price was such a great deal, but the headache that ensued afterwards really demonstrated the type of service you get at Ski rental. I bought my $ 90 day lift ticket, got on the lift and headed to the top of the mountain for my first run, immediately upon getting off the lift, my skis felt off. Mind you these skis are 4 year old skis that I bought brand new when I got them and this was the first time I have gotten them waxed/ground since I only ski 6x or so a year. I headed downhill and noted my skis to be completely f’ed. I couldn’t transfer my weight on them without them catching when I turned. Beyond frustrated, I went to the ski shop at Mt. Snow to have them look at it to figure out what was going on. The ski shop there turned my skis over and there was a long straight groove along the edge of my ski. The ski shop worker told me that the groove was from the grind I received that morning and they would need to be reground. I called High Altitude and talked to someone who told me that they would need to see my skis personally if they were to consider refunding me for their work. I got off the mountain and went all the way back to the shop as I literally couldn’t ski with the current state of my skis. The looked at them and told me that the straight line perfectly along my ski about 1 cm from the edge was from a rock. They also told me that they wouldn’t refund me for the ground, eventhough they told me to come so that they could look at it and refund me if in fact there was the line in the ski that I said the Mt. Snow ski shop saw. Beyond frustrated that I was spending quality ski time debating this issue, they re-ground my skis after I recapped what was stated on the phone about me coming in and getting a refund. I went back on the slopes, the grind was still unsatisfactory, although slightly better. I went back to the Mt. Snow ski shop to have them reinspect the skis, the groove was not as deep, but feeling bad that High Altitude f’ed my skis up so bad, they fixed them for FREE… clearly, Mt. Snow ski shop knows what customer service and proper ski care are. I wish I could say the same for High Altitude.

I would not recommend buying anything there. I had an issue with a purchase and found their response or lack thereof to remedy the issue sub par. I perceived an attitude from a supervisor that they don’t care about an individual customer(i.e., myself) because they have plenty of other customers coming through their doors. In sum, I would never shop here again. They treated me poorly.
