Skate West is cool, it’s an older skating rink here in West Des Moines! Now I have not put on the skates here, but I attended a wedding and it was a blast!
The old hard wood floors remind me of skating parties I used to go to as a kid! Which naturally brought back memories of a husky little dudes sweaty hands during a couple skate! AHHHHHH
Being a kid is tough! But skating is a blast!
The place is perfect for kids, good sound system, lots of treats to be bought, and video games if you are tired of skating!
This will be fun to go back too!

Great old school skating rink.
Went here for a wedding last night and it was so great! The place looks like it hasn’t changed a bit! Super clean, too!
While obviously it’s not typical to experience it in the way I did but you can see the gem shining through the shiny wedding decorations.
Candy for 10¢, wooden rink, old school roller skates… The list goes on. It’s great!
If you’re in for a throwback — this is your place.
