My favorite deli hands down! The sandwiches are fresh, delicious, and exceedingly proportionate. My favorite is their salad bar, best one in town! Tons of fresh toppings to choose from including crostinis, a favorite of mine. I’ve never had their free ice cream for a couple reasons: I’m usually too full to even think about dessert and it doesn’t look that appetizing to me. I LOVE ice cream, this just looks crystally and not smooth coming out of the machine but I’m fine without it. If I wanted ice cream I would go to DQ or something. Last but not least, everyone is always so friendly here. You will be greeted with a smile and thanked when you leave as well as friendly interactions between. They also have some tables outside to sit at on the nice sunny days.

we stopped in on our way back to St. Paul. really good. moved through the line fast, and the sandwiches were tasty and impressive. atmosphere on a saturday was typical — crowded and noisy — but that’s to be expected, and glad to see they were so busy. we liked Jason’s and will stop back in next time we’re on the road.

This is a good place for someone that wants some soup, sandwich, and salad. They have an unlimited salad bar that you can pair with soup or sandwich which is nice. I do enjoy coming here on rare occasion, but for a deli, their salad bar just doesn’t have enough options. They have plenty of vegetable options, but only one type of shredded cheese, and no meat other than bacon bits. Normally that is OK for a place that does not specialize in salads, but for this place they can up it a notch. Their seafood gumbo is also very good along with salmon sandwich. So if you don’t mind not having cheese and meat options with your salad, you will love this place. But if you are like me, you will enjoy it on rare occasion.

I really love Jason’s Deli. I know I know it’s a chain, and it’s always packed but the line moves fast, and the staff has always been 2nd to none! The sandwiches are huge, they have vegan options for soup, and the Salad bar is awesome! I love the salad bar selection, and would rate it only 2nd to Whole Foods in town, but it’s also cheaper! I do wish they had a non meat protein on the salad bar, like tofu or something but they have everything else I need! The awesome hummus, mixed with peas, peppers, lettuce, carrots, the crazy nut mixes, a pickle, and olive oil is my perfect combo and it makes a big beautiful vegan salad! I love how they give you a big plate to start saying«we know you are in it to win it,» but they also don’t care if you go back multiple times! For dessert I love the gram crackers they have, but for non vegans I would go strait to the free Ice Cream! This is a perfect spot for kids,(lots of high chairs available) and remember I said there was Free Ice Cream! It’s clean, comfy, line moves fast, and the staff are great! This is how you run a chain!

For the price, this food is great! All organic and done just the right way. Last night I got the salad bar with the chicken tortilla soup. The salad bar was definitely worth the money, so many options of fresh veggies, fruit, salads and even a section for grains/croutons. The soup was equally as good but it was a bit spicy to handle at times, I might recommend the beef stew(which I have also had) if you’re more on the mild side. Great meal for $ 10. Staff was courteous and the place was clean as a whistle. However, I could imagine that it could be loud in there on a weekend around lunch time.

This was by far my favorite deli in Des Moines, until tonight… My wife and I have been on a clean eating kick and decided to go out to eat for the first time in two weeks, we chose Jason’s because of their typically great salad bar. Tonight I noticed that the spring mix salad looked a little suspect, but me, being the dense numbskull that I am loaded up the salad bowl with the wilted garbage thinking«what are the chances»… Well here I sit 3 hours later at 10:30 at night for my seventh bout of sending it straight through the screen door and blogging about my sore asshole…

Both our sandwiches were perfect. Caperese panini with ruffle chips. My husband had pastrami and he said it the best food he had all weekend but then to top everything off An amazing dish of vanilla soft serve… So good! Yummy we will be coming back soon

I hadn’t been here for a while, so had forgotten it’s a decent place to a quick healthy meal. Eating in or takeout are both good options. First, if you like a full salad bar, Jason’s is one of the best. From salad with all the fixings, to lots of different prepared salads, and then there are muffins and ice cream. Who can beat that. They have baked potatoes, soups, pasta and all kinds of sandwiches so it is easy to please anyone. There are many vegetarian options that are all denoted on the menu. All the nutritional information is listed too. They do have an app that allows you to order, but we’ve tried it out and cannot get it to work. Don’t know what is wrong there. That has been the one big disappointment, as I love to order online and pick up!

Arrived at 3pm — starving. left satisfied. I was immediately greeted by a friendly employee who could tell I was not a regular. He walked me through the menu and made suggestions. At some point I shared that I hadn’t eaten anything besides coffee and was really hungry. I ordered lobster bisque and grilled cheese. After paying and taking a seat, the employee brought me over two mini breads, corn and ginger, saying«it will take a minute to make your sandwich and I know you are hungry, so please enjoy these while you wait» :) wow! Nice touch! Soup and sandwich was good!

Love Jason’s. The hubby is very meat and potatoes, I’m more fruit and veggies. it can be a hassle sometimes to find something that pleases us both. Jason’s never disappoints. I also love the variety of sides-I don’t like chips or fries so I’m often disappointed in the options at a lot of restaurants. I love that I can get fruit, veggies, or even a potato or pasta salad instead of the standard chips. We use their online ordering for delivery when we’re feeling particularly hermit-like so we can avoid actually having to communicate with anyone besides the delivery driver. Because sometimes phoning in an order is just too painful.

Slipped in before a lunch rush. Walk in and you can see right away that we could have called ahead for pick up. No worries this time we beat the rush. My lunch buddy order a Reuben because he loves them here. He raved about them many times but i discovered you can get their salad bar with half a sandwiches. One time through the salad bar for me was plenty. They have an good selection. We sat with our number not long before our sandwiches came out. The Ruben was good. Everything was timely and we enjoyed it. I’ll be back at some point but with the rush of people that came in shortly after us I’ll probably still go early to avoid the rush.

I typically come here for the nutty mixed up salad that I discovered years ago. I don’t live in the area, so like most places, I visit them because I am craving a specific dish/food item. I have tried a couple other items on a whim and they have been fine, not necessarily something I would come back for, but the nutty mixed up salad is one that I do look forward to enjoying and don’t forget the free ice cream!

What I love about Jason’s Deli… Glad you asked. For starters they offer free ice cream and corn muffins, which is awesome. Their sandwiches, while not complicated, are better than say Jimmy Johns. Sandwiches like the California Club are great and have a different flavor — using ingredients like avocado. Their soups are great also and come as an add-on at an affordable price. Really this place isn’t complicated: it’s soups, sandwiches, and extras. I wouldn’t pick it over say, Quiznos, but it’s definitely a step above Jimmy Johns or Subway in terms of service and quality.

The sandwiches are pretty solid, but the soups are very disappointing in comparison to their competition. Many of the recipes seem to use the same basic formula(base, main ingredient, vegetable), even when they are not necessary. Carrots seem very out of place in baked potato soup. I’ve also tried the french onion and the broth is very weak. The salad bar has a nice assortment of items and its nice they have options besides iceberg which seems to be standard these days. Corn muffins, garlic toast, and ice cream are free for all and serve as nice compliments and/or dessert to a meal. Service is always friendly and efficient. I like the fact the table number you are given is «raised» making it easier to find when your meal is prepared.

Went for the first time and they messed up every aspect of my order. Ordered 2 cold sandwiches. They heated both. Both were supposed to have lettuce and neither did. The pickles weren’t good. Tiny bags of chips(lame flavor) barely enough to compliment the sandwiches. Took like 30 mins to get my food. Obviously took much longer because they cooked sandwiches that were supposed to be cold! The turkey was decent, but the roast beef was sliced way too thick to be legit. It sucked. Staff was very friendly. Don’t care for these type of trendy buildings/locations. Cuz that spikes the costs for us. May try again someday, on a whim. But will def not seek it out. Not much different to me than Palmer’s Deli. Except Palmer’s has better locale(for me), has never messed my order up and has a tons of different chips, cookies, pop, and other snacks and sides to choose from. Plus it’s easier to know what all ingredients are available at Palmer’s, cuz you can see them in front of you. I could keep going, but I have wasted enough time on this review. Don’t decide how ppl want their food cooked for them. I am well-spoken and articulate well. My order was clear.

Let’s face it, there aren’t many places in Des Moines to get a fresh salad bar coupled with a fresh, good tasting sandwich. Jason’s, fortunately, bucks the trend, delivering a healthy alternative to the endless number of unhealthy fast food establishments. And, you’ll find a quick turnaround on orders and good value here. My favorite is ordering the Manager’s Special, which is a half cup of soup or salad bar and a half sandwich. And, there’s an endless number of sandwiches to choose from. The only thing I wouldn’t order is the corned beef or pastrami. Everything else is fair game. This is an ideal place for a quick lunch or hour long hangout spot with work friends. Everyone can order a meal and a drink for less than $ 10. Or grab a fully loaded potato and see if you can finish it!

I dined here with a partner on a Sunday afternoon. It’s relative proximity to Penzeys Spices greatly influenced our choice. I have dined at a Jason’s Deli in Olathe, Kansas so I knew what to expect. I didn’t expect to see a sea of suburbanites clothed in North Face jackets packing every table of the space.(Side note: Midwesterners wearing a mountain climbing brand is similar to Billabong or other surfing brands.) ORDERED: California Club(Roasted turkey breast, bacon, Swiss, guacamole, tomato, organic field greens, mayo, on a toasted croissant.) with a side of chips. TASTED: This was a good, filling sandwich that fueled a day of shopping. Fast. Cheap. My partner had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and liked it. POST: Reminds me of a mall food court dining option. Fast. Cheap. CHANCEOFRETURN: 5⁄10

This place kind of reminds me of Panera but in a different way. They specialize in deli sandwiches and salads. It’s a huge store. It’s clean and very well organized. They have a wonderful salad bar! I got the all-you-can eat deal for a little under $ 8 and not only do they provide the basic salad essentials, but also potato salad, hummus, pasta salad, different croutons, cottage cheese, watermelon, and a few other items. The main standout for me is the Beefeater sandwich. It was DELICIOUS. One of the best sandwiches with roast beef I’ve ever had in my life. It’s a toasted baguette with roast beef, provolone, and mayo in it that you dip in a hot Au Jus sauce. The roast beef just melts in your mouth. Also the ice cream here is free! It’s soft-serve ice cream from a machine. overall, I would recommend this place!
