I’m only giving this place one stars because I’m not allowed to give it none. The overall lounge isn’t terrible. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a karaōke bar — dark, sort of dated with people rocking out to songs you don’t really know unless you’re over 45 years old. Seriously, 90 percent of the songs were ones I’ve never heard before. All was going well, we were having a good time while waiting on our friends to show up. When they arrived, one of them forgot their I.D. Instead of politely handling the situation, our waitress barked at him and demanded he leave. It was extremely rude and uncalled for. He was gladly going to leave but instead she demanded he exit the premises right this instant. The sad thing is, he’s a regular there. He’s the one who told us about the place and suggested we go there. Not only did Billy Joe’s lose my business, but they lost their regular’s too. While we were trying to figure where to go instead, my other friend was on the phone and the waitress kept demanding to see her I.D., too. When she was finally able to show her, the waitress threw it back on the table and stormed off. Really? As I paid my tab, she sat at the end of the bar shooting daggers at me, pointing and clearly talking about me to another patron. All I could think was«If you hadn’t lost my business before, you certainly have now.» It’s a shame, we were all ready to have a good night and make a fool out of ourselves singing. We may have even stayed despite my friend having to leave, but now I will never, ever, ever step foot in that place again because of their poor service.
