Going out for dinner in some parts of the Cape can be tricky. I am very grateful for Unilocal. There always seems to be two choices, one is an expensive dinner and the other is a place that has the word shack in the title. We were very happy to find this gem. We walked in and immediately noticed the charm of this pub. The bar was full and the tables were quickly filling up as well. Two gentlemen played and sang Irish songs, we were taken right back to our time in Ireland. The menu has a good selection of Irish meals. I ordered a Guinness and the lamb stew. The stew was fantastic however it was a bit cold. It felt like it was reheated but not heated all the way through. The temperature didn’t stop me from eating the whole thing. Our waiter warned us that he was new however he did a great job. I plan on visiting here often for a relaxing dinner and music.

I would not go to this establishment again. As the waitress was attempting to seat our large party, the owner intervened and was incredibly rude and disrespectful, telling us that we could not sit where the waitress placed is. My party decided to leave and as we were standing up to vacate, the owner began to argue with me in an attempt to justify his attitude. He stood over me and talked at me for an extended period of time. His voice was raised and he was agitated. I calmly thanked him for his lack of hospitality and left.

Stopped in for a quick eat. Atmosphere was very pub like and felt as tho we could b in Ireland. Their was a pickup groups of afternoon musicians that were fun to listen to. The Irish stew and Shepherd’s Pie were good but not outstanding. Our issue was the service. Painfully slow! We were Checked on once and not again till we were done eating for about 15 minutes no drink refills for us!

My friend and I went on a Saturday night. My only complaint is the owner?(unsure if he’s the owner but he seemed to be in charge) The place is very cozy looking has a fire place but we were sat in the corner. We asked our waitress to move, she moved us to a table set for 8. The guy in charge was super rude to us and the waitress, saying are you kidding me? you can’t sit them here we need it for large parties(the place was quite sparse at the time), sit them somewhere else i dont care. The waitress even had to apologize for his rudeness, but we sat more in the bar area closer to the fireplace. I did notice that when another table in front of the fireplace got up, the guy in charge told another waitress(something like…) to keep an eye on us because we might try to take that table set for 5. I found this completely shady and rude and unwelcoming. We were completely fine where we were, we weren’t trying to start any trouble. That was the worst part of the place. the food was actually really good. I had the steak tips, my friend had the baked haddock. Everything was cooked perfectly and the haddock was especially enchanting. The only issue with the food was that we were served two starches, the vegetable of the day was mashed sweet potatoes. That’s not smart. Overall i’d probably come back

So glad we came here Wednesday night for awesome live traditional Irish Music and yummy food. I was a little wary if it was kid-friendly as we have a 9 months old baby, but was relief that it was. The waitress asked us if we had preference and seat us right away. The whole atmosphere of the Restaurant reminded us of Ireland, love it. Beside the great selection of draft beer(Guinness, Allegash White, Pauliner, etc), their food is also tasty! Hubby had the traditional lamb stew — YUM! And I had the seafood stew, so amazing! The hot roll that came with dinner was also delicious. It was very fresh and I even gave some to my baby to eat! The dinner was just the right portion. We had just enough room for dessert. We had bananas foster(good but a little too sweet for me) and Bailey’s bread pudding. It was drenched in Bailey’s liquor, so if you like that, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, otherwise skip it and go with chocolate lava cake. Overall, we love this place and will definitely come back next time we are in the Cape.

This place was terrible. Our waitress had terets in pretty sure and Alzheimer’s because she could not remember a god damn thing I said. She recommend the mashed potatoes as a side and they were terrible. Also the band sucked. The food was sub par. I think a blind person was back there in the kitchen just throwing shit on a plate and serving it. I will never return to this establishment.

I have tried this place at least three times. The food is bad, and the service is lousy. I live nearby and wanted to like it but I just can’t.

We have been coming to the cape for over 15 years and would pass by this old place always wanting to go but always fallIng for other places. We finally ventured in this year. What an amazing place, the best customer service, the greatest ambiance, and truly excellent food. And we just loved the owner and his staff… plus there is live music 364 days a year!

One of my favorite places about town. Great music, great food, great beer and a very friendly atmosphere. I miss this place when I haven’t been in a while. To top it off, there is a roaring fire in the fireplace in the winter months. Love it.

A hidden gem! Ambiance was outstanding– a true authentic Irish pub feel. The live Irish music was excellent– kept the crowd engaged the whole night. We went more for the entertainment than the food but was pleasantly surprised– the seafood was excellent for a pub! If you’re looking for a lively place to have a few drinks with good live music(and good pub food), this is a great spot.

Sat at bar and ate because there was a wait for a table. Ordered the rigamarole and the chicken tenders were great, the potatoe skins were just okay and the Irish eggrolls didn’t taste like much of anything. Fun atmosphere watching people play trivia. Great service and super friendly. Will be back!

Very friendly service. Excellent wine and beer selection in addition to full bar. Good food. We ordered the stuffed quahog and Irish egg rolls, both very good. I would come here again and recommend it. I did not get to hear the music as we were there earlier on a Monday. We ended up eating dinner as well. It was great. Joe, the owner, was very accommodating. The staff was super nice and so we’re all the locals in there.

There is much more than Irish music at O’Sheas. Tonight is blues with Steve Morgan. I have enjoyed his music here many times before. Always a treat. The Guinness is poured with care, thanks Evie. Nice night on tag Cape

Ok the first thing is the menu — I checked on their website prior to going and there was hardly anything on the menu available that evening. Please coordinate the menu with the online information. Had stuffed sole and baked mixed seafood. Both good but not exceptional, Have had better food for less money.

We absolutely love this place — everything from the terrific music, the fresh from the dock seafood, and the owner, Joe Shea. My husband’s family is from The Cape and every summer we make our sojourn to O’Shea’s 3 times a week. The service is great, the barkeep is friendly, and so is the atmosphere. And, did we say we love the music?

Sign for live music got us into this place. Warm, friendly Irish pub atmosphere with music to suit. Owner stopped at our table to chat a bit, although loud music made it very hard to understand him… we basically sat and nodded, Very nice fellow with some good stories about the place despite some spiritual Malarkey which I basically ignored. He meant well though. Anyway, great vibe and good beer, recommended.

A good little Irish pub with a rustic Irish atmosphere. The place looks well used. Staff was very friendly and welcoming & checked in regularly with us(but not too much). The food was good pub food and fit well with the place. Really enjoyed it!

I thought it was St Patrick’s Day all over again. There were a group of locals playing music, a working fire place that our waitress tented to and wonderful locals all around. My wife had Salmon and I had baked Haddock. The fish and the ingredients were fresh. Great mashed potatoes. We had a lovely time and a great experience.

My boyfriend and I went here per recommendation of my father, on a visit to the Cape. The live music was fun and the food and drinks were good. It was EXTREMELY hot in there. It was the summertime but I’m pretty sure there wasn’t any working air conditioning. We waited 45 minutes for a waitress and still nothing. In the meantime, we just went up to the bar to get our drinks. I finally caught one passing by and asked her if we could order. She gave a snappy, «What time is it?» and she looked at my phone. She told me the kitchen was closing and that she was leaving. I told her we had been there for 45 minutes waiting. We ended up getting another MUCH nicer waitress who took our burger order. The place wasn’t closing anytime soon, and people were still eating once we left. The rude waitress caused the mediocre rating. Otherwise we enjoyed it. Would go back.

Super friendly service. We tried the Irish egg rolls, tasty! We are dinner on a Sunday night when a 18some piece band was playing Irish music. Not loud, so it was nice to hear in the background. We could still talk and hear each other. Food was very good. We are here a week and will come back. Told the guy we found them via Unilocal
