We’ve lived at Colony at the Lakes for a few months. If you live on the 5th floor, maybe it’s worthwhile although these brainiacs decided to leave an uncovered parking structure for 5th floor residents. Anyhow, unless you live on the 5th floor, you will hear your neighbors’ footsteps; you will know when your neighbors vaccum their apartment. You will hear the awful sound of the garbage disposal from the apartment above you. Yes, that’s how cheap this construction is. It is too expensive for what you get! Rental fee is way toooooo high for the cardboard thin foundations/walls. Here are some additional facts you should know about living at The Colony at the Lakes: (1) Regarding your mail, the leasing office doesn’t let you know if you have mail. The mailboxes have not been set up yet. If you decide to move into this complex, have your mail go elsewhere because who knows when the mailboxes will be ready. And you have to ask the leasing office if any of your mail is in their file cabinet(s). The Leasing office could let us know via email if we have mail waiting for us, but they don’t. UPDATE: Management finally this week(2÷25÷2016) sent out an email message to let us know that we can pick up our mailbox keys. (2) Management keeps running fire alarm testing. Here’s the most ridiculous planning. First, they sent an email message the night before the fire alarm testing was supposed to start setting forth 3 days when they would run their fire alarm testing — Friday(yesterday) wasn’t one of the scheduled days that they notified us that they would run fire alarm testing. Somehow, someone decided that it would be okay to do fire alarm testing yesterday afternoon. The Leasing Office sent an email message at 9:30ish a.m. to let us know that they would be conducting fire alarm testing on Friday afternoon. SAMEDAYNOTICE!!! WEHAVE A PET. We have to find accommodations for our pet meanwhile management runs their fire alarm testing. I am very upset. We had to run from work in the middle of the day to remove our pet for the afternoon so they can run their fire alarm testing. The people whom aree making decisions do NOT care about their residents — US – whom are paying to live here. They are INCONSIDERATE. If it were an emergency, I understand that they cannot give advanced notice, but this was not an emergency. I work! No, I do not work from home or around the corner. I had to drive home in the middle of the day from work to pick up my pet, take it to a relative’s home and then go back to work and all because the Leasing Office people decide to run fire alarm testing on an unscheduled day. No, this is NOT a pet friendly community.

I’ve been calling The Colony at the Lakes my home for almost three weeks now and couldn’t feel more happy to have made the choice to move from a home to this amazing resort style apartment. From the minute I walked into the leasing office, the leasing consultants were very welcoming and friendly. They took the time to answer all of my questions. Once they gave me the grand tour and showed me the model apartments, I was sold. I have never been to nor have seen any other apartment complexes as technologically advanced and detailed oriented as this one. I can only begin to describe this amazing place. from a state of the art gourmet kitchen(with all stainless steel appliances), your own new washer and dryer, large bathrooms with huge bathtubs, a two story gym with top of the line gym equipment(I no longer go to Gold’s Gym) a state of the art business center with coffee, printer and copier, a social lounge and an amazing pool(can’t wait for it to open). The grounds are maintained daily and if there is anything that you need, the leasing consultants are there for you. These are just a few of the amenities here. There are much more. I would continue to describe this place but won’t do it justice … You’ll have to take the tour yourself. Thank you everyone at The Colony at the Lakes for making Max(my dog as this is also pet friendly) for making us feel at home and making our transition so smooth.

This complex is just what West Covina needs. When we walked in with Merci(who is the best leasing manager out there) we instantly fell in love with this place. We knew this was to be my boyfriend and I first place together the moment we walked in. For all the amenities you get, and the lifestyle they are creating, you can not find anywhere else right now, and it worth every penny well spent. You get what you pay for anywhere you go. I can not wait to move in and experience the colony at the lakes.

As of this writing Colony at the Lakes pricing is: One Bedrooms 675 – 742 Sq.Ft. $ 1719-$ 2194 Two Bedrooms 1049 – 1165 Sq.Ft. $ 2519-$ 2719 — Nearby Lafayette Parc is $ 1,435+ Nearby slum apts are $ 1,000+ Apparently pricing is not based on the market rate for this area, but on the age of the development. Inflation anyone?
