By far the worst Thai food I tasted. I bought as a take-out. But so under my expectation for 4 and half restaurant. Ordered chicken mint leaf, patai and chicken wing. All three are not tasty at all compare to the many Thai restaurant I tried. I totally don’t understand how this restaurant be 4 and half star.

I don’t write reviews often, but it’s not often that you find outstanding food, exceptional service, and comfortable seating all for a very affordable and ridiculously inexpensive price. I had the spicy minty beef lunch special and it was incredible right down to the soup. I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of your menu.

Great service. Fresh food. We go 1 – 2 times per month as a family. We love it here & My kids eat everything on their plate. It’s a Small place, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Make sure to Leave room for fried banana and ice cream for dessert. Highly recommended.

I love their food and service is amazing. What I order: fried wontons, papaya salad or beef salad, drunken noodles, prik king curry, and of course their egg plant with chicken and extra mint… I love thai food and have tried many places and thus far this place has been the best thai I’ve had. Not to mention they have excellent service as well.

I struck gold on my first try! I found my favorite Thai restaurant in West Covina! Nice ambience, cute and simple décor, friendly service and delicious food. Dinner specials for $ 8 and it comes with a small cabbage soup that was flavorful, fried rice, side salad with an on spot salad dressing and your choice a of an entrée that’s a very decent portion. If you finish the whole thing you’ll be stuffed. I had pad Thai and yellow curry chicken mild on the spiciness. Both were really good and flavorful. Pad Thai was perfect noodles just right, not chewy. Yellow curry was good too. Curry could have been just a little more thicker, but I’m not complaining. Fried rice was perfect too and flavorful. Oh it also comes with 2 fried wontons. They were crispy with a smidgen of pork I think. The food was great! Will be back. :)

Sweety Hut has been my #1 Thai restaurant since 2008. Their lunch and dinner specials are great deals with salad, soup, fried rice/steamed or brown rice, and your choice of 12 plates for 6.50 or 7.50. The service is great and they remember your face and are always kind unlike Krua Thai down the street where they seem annoyed to be taking orders. The food tastes amazing and is rationed at a considerable amount. Definitely will continue coming here. Also, Daniel’s service is always amazing. Thank you Sweety Hut for your continued flavorful food and service.

Great spot to come and eat. I was looking for another Thai spot to try and I saw its review so I decided to try it out. Food was great! Only one thing that was so so was the orange chicken. Customer service is great! Always double checking it we needed something. Only bad thing was they didn’t have Thai tea which is a must for me but I guess they ran out.

My favorite go-to place! My family and I have been coming here for almost 10 years and we love it! We haven’t dared to try any other thai food places because we have high expectations thanks to Sweety Hut. We usually get thai fried rice with chicken or shrimp, drunken noodles, tilapia curry, and tom yum goong. These dishes are family portions, but they also have individual combo plates for dinner and lunch. We’ve tried the egg rolls, angel wings, spicy chicken wings, wonton soup, hot and sour soup, pad see ew, chow mien, seafood fried rice, chicken mint leaf, yellow curry, shrimp bacon, shrimp broccoli with oyster sauce, chicken and beef satay and guess what? All of these are delicious! For dessert we LOVE the mango sticky rice, but sadly it’s only when mangos are in season. When that isn’t an option, try the fried bananas they are also very tasty! Daniel is almost always our server, and he’s great. One little thing is that the food is sometimes a hit or miss when the owner isn’t cooking, but other then that, try it at least once!

Came here the other night with my bffs because this was one of the highly rated Thai places nearby on Unilocal that we hadn’t tried yet. FOOD: We ordered a chicken larb. First time trying this dish and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of flavor in such a simple dish. Lots of onions I must say so avoid if you don’t like onions. 4⁄5 The drunken noodles was a bit disappointing for me. Not enough vegetables and the noodles seemed stuck together. The noodles usually come apart easily because of the sauce in the dishes but I had a hard time with this dish. 2⁄5 The pineapple fried rice came with big chunks of pineapple and chicken as well as chinese sausage, which is unusual. The rice had a stronger than normal curry flavoring though which I didn’t really like too much. Big portion though. 3⁄5 Overall: 3⁄5 SERVICE: Great Service. Our server continually came over to check up on us to make sure we were ok and that our food was ok. Didn’t take too long for the food to come out after we ordered. Overall: 4⁄5 DECOR/AMBIANCE: Dimly lit restaurant. Tables had ample spacing to allow for people traffic and the place seemed clean and orderly. Simple décor with a few plants and pictures hanging on the wall. Overall: 4⁄5 The restaurant is located in a small plaza with limited parking but we had no trouble finding parking around dinnertime on a Saturday.

I used to go here a lot with my parents. Food ranges from decent to great. Service is always friendly & fairly quick. I’d recommend the Pad Thai & Singapore noodle, it’s better than the green curry I had. Go in the afternoon since it gets pretty loud and crowded during dinner time. Waitress asked if I was Thai & said I was pretty. Made my day!

It’s been months since I had an in-person meeting with my mentee and since she was on summer break and back in the SGV, she suggested meeting up for some Thai food. Sweety Hut is in a small strip mall plaza, with limited parking. Even on a rainy Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm, well after the lunch rush, there were only 3 spots left when I drove in. I usually stick to my usual at Thai places, which is beef pad see ew. They still had their lunch specials available until 3 pm, but the only noodle dish on there was pad thai, not pad see ew, so I ordered off the regular menu. Their pad see ew dish was not drenched in soy sauce(a plus!), the noodle was soft and moist(yes!), and had a good ratio of the beef, broccoli, and noodle. I was suprised that they did not use Chinese broccoli, but regular broccoli. That kind of threw me off. Since I was eating again at 6 pm, I saved half the portion the next day, which unfortunately, did not heat up well — the noodles were pretty hard, the complete opposite of how it was when it came fresh out of the kitchen. I also ordered Thai iced tea, which was refreshingly good, though with plenty of ice cubes. I did appreciate the staff offering me a glass of iced water after noticing I finished my thai tea. They are pretty close to Factory Tea Bar, which I passed on my way over here, so any repeat visit would likely be because I was in the area at FTB.

Staff was friendly. Food is good. Price is very wallet-friendly. They have dinner specials for $ 8 that come w a soup. I skipped that though. I had the calamari, which was okay. The pad Thai was the winner. It was tasty. Red curry was also good. I had to drench my white rice w curry to really get that flavor. It was a good dining experience. This is a good lunch spot or early weekday dinner spot. I just say that because I like loud, dynamic atmospheres. This place is more chill and on the quiet side. Overall, satisfied~

Don’t judge the book by its cover! The location and the appearance of the restaurant my not«wow» you, but I was surprised how good all the dishes we ordered were. The environment inside was clean and the servers were polite and friendly. All the dishes were affordable and were in big portions. Perfect ratio of tangy noodles and sauce. What more can I ask! I loved it and can’t wait to come back.

After church today, I was craving Thai food so I came here this afternoon for take-out. I ordered pad see-ew with chicken, papaya salad, and shrimp tom yum soup. I’ve been to many, many Thai restaurants from the east coast to west coast. I know Thai food well. I cook Thai dishes at home. And I usually order without a menu when I go to Thai restaurants because I always order the same things for easy comparison. Compared to the Thai place I went to last week(Koi Thai, West Covina), I think the food here tastes more authentic. But why the three stars? +1: Chicken pad see-ew was not bad. Crunchy broccoli(not overcooked), loads of chicken. However, the ratio of noodles to chicken was 40⁄60 — way too much chicken. It should really be 65⁄35 because the sauce is for seasoning the noodles, not the chicken. The key ingredient is the noodle in this dish, and chicken(or beef) serves more as an additional element blended into the noodles. +1: Tom yum soup — exactly how it should taste. Perfect amount of spices, including fresh lemongrass, sliced mushrooms, loads of large shrimp. The shrimp tasted a little dry and seems like it was cooked separately before placing into the soup. The mushrooms were good, but not the kind that should be placed in tom yum. +1: Papaya salad — good blend of sliced papayas, fish sauce, tomatos, and cabbage. Good job. Now here’s some constructive criticism for the restaurant: –1: Pad see-ew noodle to chicken ratio — as explained above. You need to use just a bit more sauce and cook it so that the sauce becomes absorbed into the noodles. –1: Noodles were overcooked in pad see-ew. Be careful. You shouldn’t boil the noodles all the way. It should only be boiled briefly and immediately placed in the pan to be stir fried with hot oil and soy sauce. The noodles should be cooked through when it’s in the oil, not in the water when it was being boiled. Else you will always have soggy, broken flat noodles. –1: tom yum soup: good blend of mushrooms and shrimp, however the shrimp was too dry. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp. –1: When I called for a pickup order, I asked«do you have papaya salad? «and the person on the phone said«maybe.» Please train your staff to make sure they know what’s on the menu for the day. Customers do not want to hear«maybe» or else«maybe» you’ll lose return customers. –1: Way too much ice placed in the iced tea. Unnecessary and wasteful. You waste your water and end up diluting the tea. A lose-lose for both business and customer. I hestitate to say this but I wouldn’t return. The food is really NOT that great.

Wanted a quick late night bite, was craving Thai food and found this place on Unilocal. The restaurant was located on the corner of Glendora & Merced… place was clean, wonderful atmosphere for family & friends. First time here, almost closing time and the waiter still offered me and my boyfriend a table. The waiter was attentive, helpful and the service was very fast. They have a huge selection of entrees. Just chose from the dinner special, I ordered the Pad Thai Dinner(truthfully, I’ve had better Pad Thai elsewhere, for some reason the dish had such a strong aroma to it that I wasn’t too fond of) The side order of Fried Cheese Wontons was light crunchy and just completely deliciously awesome! My boyfriend fell in love with their Thai Iced tea… not sure if it counts since it’s his first. Definitely coming back here again to try the rest of their menu and their Fried Cheese Wontons!!!

Heard good things about this place from an extremely picky friend so thought I’d give it a try. It has now become my favorite Thai restaurant ever! I came during dinner and extemporaneously chose the pad thai and red chicken curry combos. It comes with rice, salad, fried wontons, and soup for only $ 7.99! Crazy cheap for thai food. I think it was the best pad thai I’ve ever tasted. The noodles were chewy and springy, and it was packed with flavor. I still asked for extra lime because I love my pad thai fraught with excessive amounts of sourness, but it was already way better compared to other Thai restaurants to start with(I don’t like bland pad thai). The red curry was standard. It had a good amount of spiciness(I only asked for mild because I’m a wimp) and dipping my wontons into it was delicious.

Made a quick stop here before heading out to Vegas since my friends wanted Thai food. Unfortunately, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the food here was just mediocre at best. Service: From the person that picked up the phone to take my order to the waitress that greeted us when we walked in, this aspect of the business clearly has no problems. It’s the food that was a disappointment. Pad See Ew: Although the portions were huge and the brocolli was crunchy just the way I like it, the other aspects of the dish fell flat. The noodles were super salty & the star ingredient of the dish the beef was super tough and chewy. Final Verdict: I think I’ll pass from now on.
