I stopped by on Wednesday at 5:50 p.m. and they were closed… I thought they close at midnight??? What a waste of my time. It was February 10th. I walked up, the door was closed, all light out and a gentleman sitting outside told me «oh he just left. Sorry about that».

Stopped by an hour before closing. Plenty of seating and parking. Menu is a bit confusing because there is just SOMUCH to choose from. The the bf ordered some kind of Hokkaido green tea +pudding. I had the milk tea+boba that came free with checkin! I really liked the taste of the milk tea here. Great price for two drinks

First off, their services is just wonderful! The staff is so nice :). Second, their drinks are awesome! The black and white is so yummy, plus having crushed oreo was just an added pleasure. Coming back anytime!

Nice place to get Boba because the prices are so dang cheap! Definitely notable price difference compared to some places in the LA area. The most distinct difference that seperates this place from others would be the ability to customize the drink and the wide variety of boba/jelly offered; not many boba places carry the variety. They also have some appetizers that look tasty as well. The environment is relaxing with some trees as decorations. In addition, it appears there is free wifi and a lot of people come here to socialize and hangout. They provide great customer service too. Cool place none the less.

Walked in and saw such an amazing theme. The store is going for backyard or forest theme and is really cute! Im from the 626 and the drive to west covina was worth it. I had a lot of recommendations from friends that go to rosemead high and i have to say it is a good boba spot and would definitely come by again! Although there were many people and things to choose from. I chose the original milk tea with honey boba. The drink was on fleek with its unique flavor that is not that same as other places such as quicklys, ftb, etc. and better than tpumps imo. Ill come by to try other things too.

BYOB is a boba place with a huge selection of toppings. There are a variety of pre made drink ideas but the end result depends on you. The staff is really easy going and attentive. They work fast and give you drink ideas based on what you’re craving. Aside from the drinks there’s also food which you would expect in a boba shop. The popcorn chicken is good but I have yet to try the rest. The shop is tucked away inside of Hong Kong plaza to the right of the market. Definitely a great, late night boba stop.

The drinks were good here and the workers were very friendly. I like that they give a free milk tea if you check in to Unilocal. When I was there, the boba wasn’t going to be ready for another 30 minutes. I was craving boba and they didn’t have any, but I didn’t want to just leave, so I got a drink anyway. I would probably come back again to try their boba. They had unique drinks that I haven’t seen at any other stores before.

I was not a big fan of the boba(drink as a whole) here. It didn’t stand out to me as particularly good and the concept isn’t executed very well. It was very overwhelming. The décor is nice. Sort of like you’re sitting in a makeshift garden in an alley. It’s the pleated metal sheets on the wall. Fun design. It seems like they change the design of their televised menus from time to time, so particularly near the year end of 2015, there was a confusing menu with maybe 4 or 5 steps that told me to choose from a wide array of many different things. I think there have been studies that have shown that people can be derailed when offered too many choices. I think this was the case for me since I’m not used to thinking so hard for boba. I was not creative and didn’t want to «build your own» so I asked for a Chrysanthemum Tea with Boba. As an aside, I have never visited a boba place with Chrysanthemum Tea so that was interesting. The server suggested I tried a Chrysanthemum Milk Tea with Honey, so I did. The only thing I remember tasting was honey and boba. The boba itself was okay, the beverage I probably drank half of. They do have a number of recommended drinks so if creating your own is difficult for you like it was for me, then you can get one of those. Parking was not bad at all despite there being a HK2 supermarket in the same plaza. I originally wanted to go to FTB since its pretty much next door, but they were closed. I’m not in this area too often so maybe what I ordered was just not one of their best drinks. Who knows? I am sure there will be people who like this place.

I tried the DEWMYCOFFEE for the first time, and it was a game changer! Imagine the kick in the pants of Vietnamese coffee with a sweet after taste of Honey Dew melon. You wouldn’t think it would be delicious, but mother of GOD. It’s amazing. In fact, I’m craving one right now as I type this — except next time around, I want the«hot version» — they’re doing hot drinks now on the menu too because of the colder weather!!! The place is really cute, feels like a summer outdoor patio, in 50 deg. weather. and you can play various games while you sip your drinks and wait. Awesome Deal: You get a free milk tea with your Unilocal check in – and if you tag them on IG — you can get 10% off your next order when you come back and show them your message. That’s customer LOVE. I’m a fan, and I’m kicking myself for not going there sooner, considering how many times I’ve dined in that strip mall of glorious food. AND next time I want to try some of their FOOOD!!! My only wish — please make brick toast!!! and it’s ON!!! YUM!

DRINK — 1 star The drink that I bought(from reading how great it was from other reviews), I ordered the White Chocolate Mint. I was excited to try this drink, but was very disappointed just from one sip. The mint flavor in this drink was overwhelming, it was hard to taste the white chocolate part of this drink. I love mint flavor, but the overwhelming mint from the drink made me want to hate mint favors(during the time I tried this drink). Also, the boba wasn’t that great as well. It didn’t taste fully cooked and it was bland. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this drink. Although I didn’t like this specific drink, I would still come back to this place to try out their other boba drinks. CUSTOMERSERVICE — Good I have a rating of customer service from 0 being the lowest(not worth rating) to excellent. The list starts from Excellent, Good, Okay, Worse, 0. The customer service was good at this place. The dude working the cashier was nice and very helpful.

Upon reading previous reviews and parking across the street, I was skeptical about this place. I thought this place was going to be a hit just because it looked cool outside and just the thought of making my own boba would have been awesome. I have never been so wrong in my life. The location is alright. Hong Kong plaza is small as it is and parking is horrible Friday-Sunday. I parked almost across from this place planning on having dinner at the Thai place at the corner of the plaza. After dinner and saving some room for dessert, I was actually super excited for boba. Upon walking in, the walls were covered in moss/leaves and all types of shrubbery. Looks pretty cool and there were a couple TVs which weren’t on.(wouldn’t have been good to have something to watch during the long wait) There are several benches and tables with a chair set spread accordingly. They also have a B lettering for the health inspection(Not quite excited about that.) Figuring it was a Saturday night, I had a feeling it was going to be busy, but there was only 3 people in front of me which wasn’t bad. Sadly, there was only one employee working. That’s were it got ugly. The people in front of me already placed their orders, there were a few customers sitting and still waiting for their orders, and here I am ordering. The poor guy was overwhelmed and then a larger group of people walked in after I placed my order. I waited a good 20 mins just to get my drink. Then the second employee walked in the store and immediately began helping the poor guy catch up on orders. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name but he was very welcoming, helpful and nice. I wish he would have had more help because he was scrambling to finish the orders. I’ve had better boba to be honest. I ordered a desert snow which was a bit too sweet for my liking, was also surprised with a lot of boba. The boba vs drink ratio was off. I also checked in and got a free milk tea which was tasteless kinda like skim milk(gross). We also got a honeydew boba which was alright. I wasn’t too crazy about this place, definitely didn’t like the boba, I thought it was kinda expensive, and I wasn’t even happy with my overly sweet drink. I don’t think I’ll be coming back. I’ll stick to Boba Fiend in Riverside and Rancho Cucamonga. But thanks for the friendly service!

I came to this place and it was pretty confusing the first time around! But the worker was really friendly and welcoming. She explained to us how the whole thing works and even told us the popular drinks they have. The drinks came out pretty quickly considering each one is customized. The whole ambiance of the place is really nice. Lots of leaves and the environment. And décor was spot on. The lighting was kinda dim. Nothing really bad to say about this place besides that it’s kinda small. But other than that it was pretty good boba!

Good, but not great. Came here a couple of times and both times grass jelly was not available. Don’t you hate that feeling where you want something then to find out you can’t have it? Miserable. In any event, I tried the honey green tea with aloe. It was A-OK. Green tea had an acceptable brew flavor. The aloe was too sweet for me. It had a canned fruit syrupy taste to it. Service was courteous and prompt. Maybe I’ll come back for the food? Tough decision with FTB a few feet away.

I’ve come here enough to realize i don’t like coming here anymore. They ALWAYS run out of boba. And you would think if this is a reoccurring problem, that it would be fixed immediately right? Well it’s not. If the excuse is because they dont want to waste it by the end of the night then thats a poor one. Rather waste boba then run out right? At one point i was offered 50% off because of that, but that 50% ur taking off is basically the price if the boba so wheres the real discount ? I work as a server so it makes it easier if someone has their order ready to go, so i told the guy my order and he had the nerve to tell me to slow down. Number 1 he got it already and number 2 dont tell me to slow down because if there was a long line im sure you would appreciate the fact that i was ready to go. If anything he should at least said it politely and asked me repeat it one more time OR vice versa. Not in a rude way and then try to laugh it off. I get that the workers are young but come on, be a little bit more professional and more polite.

This is a hip and groovy place that you can hang out with dudes and dudettes and just chill. Oh wait you mean that lingo hasn’t been used in ages? Oh wait hold on. This is a fun place where you get to BUILDYOUROWNBOBA. No matter how crazy, how weird your tastes are, how you like to make stuff– you get to do it. Personalize it. Everything. I was lazy. I got the Lost Sea(which is on their creations menu) and for me, not a fan. For one the menu said hokkaido sea salt green milk tea with boba. I expected that. Somehow, somewhere, in some alternate universe, the word caramel was on there. I did not request it, the guy behind the corner maybe was taught it, something was lost in translation. I was looking for a simple tea to drink. Somehow got caramel added to it. Hmm. I wouldn’t get this nor recommend this to anyone. Unless they love caramel randomly in their drink. WIth no pudding. Anywhere. Hmm. Their boba is wet/juicy on the outside, but a bit harder for my taste on the inside. Not insanely dry like really bad boba is, but just a tad bit harder. Don’t be me. Just make your own creation and figure out what you want. :/ Or just walk 2 minutes over to FTB. Because Factory Tea Bar. I should have done that, gotten 2 drinks within 15 minutes. Nah…

I’ve tried BYOB twice now, and both time I’ve left feeling underwhelmed. BYOB is different from other boba shops in that you are able to customize your own drinks and toppings from a variety of assortments if you don’t want to order a drink off of their menu. Upon first glance, it is quite overwhelming as there are teas, toppings, flavors, drizzles you can customize into your drink. The workers are very quick to give you a hand and take you through the process, especially if it’s your first time at BYOB. Basically pick a size, if you want it blended or shaken, with tea, milk, flavor … any drizzles, and then fill it up with toppings! The first time I tried BYOB, I ordered an almond milk tea and added boba, almond pudding, and egg pudding to my drink. I really like boba and pudding, and I can definitely drink a large amount of toppings, so I asked the worker to pack my cup! There wasn’t a set price on customizing my drink, and since I had ordered almond milk tea, I was able to get the drink priced as something off of their milk tea menu. The drink was pretty good, but nowhere near quality tea. I feel like the almond tea tasted pre-made, sweet with artificial almond flavor. The boba and pudding were good, but nothing too memorable. My friends ordered random drinks and they all thought their drinks were pretty good. I tried the Orange Blossom, almond Hokkaido milk tea … they were okay, but a little too artificial tasting. Overall, it was a very interesting experience being able to order whatever we wanted. My friend even told the worker she liked grapefruit, and he was able to whip up something that she really liked. The second time I returned, I tried their Lost at Sea creation, a sea salt green tea, with boba. I had wanted to get the almond milk tea again, but I guess the prices have changed since I’ve been, and making my own drink cost way more than trying a creation of BYOB’s. Lost at Sea wasn’t a bad drink, but it definitely wasn’t a good one that I’d get again. It tasted sweet, but didn’t have any tea flavor. Boba was nice and chewy, but the drink itself was really bad. BYOB is also known for remaking drinks if you’re unsatisfied with the taste.(A good thing, but what happens to all those drinks people don’t like!) Unfortunately I was in a rush and couldn’t fix my drink. Overall, it’s a good concept if you’re into building your own drinks and whatnot, but I prefer drinking boba that has good quality tea alongside of it.

Found this place randomly on Unilocal when I was looking for a Boba shop nearby. The pictures and the reviews were too good so I couldnt let it slide. Luckily, I work out nearby so I had my chance to come. The place was a lot smaller than I expected. I thought it would be a lot larger but it was rather small. Though, it had 4 – 6 tables with the ‘forest’ theme with the fake plants. I was greeted by the guys working here and he asked if it was my first time. I said yes and he explained and recommeded some items off the menu. I actually prefer tea based drinks and it seems like their specialty is more of milk tea based. I like milk teas too but I will go with tea in any way possible. Nonetheless, I was looking at their ‘inspired’ collection menu where they had many variety/combinations. Since I could not find any tea drinks I had in mind, I went with«Lost at Sea» which was supposedly Sea Salt Hokkaido Green Milk Tea. I never get boba but weird enough, I was cravinf mini boba at the time of ordering. I got my drink which was $ 3.90 something cents. Its reasonable price for a large drink they give you. I had a high expectation for this drink because I really like Hokkaido milk teas from Hideout but it wasnt as good as my expectation. I really didnt know what my drink was supposed to taste like. I mean, it was supposed to be ‘sea salt’ type of thang but I didnt taste any sea salt and the hokkaido milk tea was kind of unflavorful and tasteless. At some point, it tasted like coffee which I do not like and cant drink. I managed to drink half of it though. I was already full from my lunch but drink wasnt as bad. It definitely wasnt a ‘whoa’ or ‘wow’ but it was just OK. I do want to come back again after studying their menu to see what I can possibly order. Until then, I am staying neutral for BYOB.

We came with a coupon and we had to spend $ 50. We thought we had more people coming, so the 4 of us really struggled. Thank you to the girl at the cash register for bearing with us; we took like 10 minutes to order! We ended with 4 drinks, phat platter, 2 orders of fries, and an order of potstickers. The drinks are extremely sweet, so I recommend getting them with less sweetness/sugar unless you realllllly have a sweet tooth. BF and I shared a large hazel eyes and I just had a few sips. We subbed tots for the platter, and they were out of calamari that day, so we got extra(or so they said) chicken and potstickers, which were just fine. For the fries, we got garlic butter and gravy cheese, but both were too salty and drenched in the flavor. I think I just like my fries plain :)

I was expecting this customization experience to be fun but I was just overwhelmed when I was trying to order Ended up just ordering a customized version of one of their menu drinks —hazel eyes with coffee substitute: it’s an ice blended drink, WAYTOO much caramel at the bottom made this drink too sweet Interesting tropical patio theme inside Note: no credit card minimum like most asian boba shops
