The Spare Rib

I have been to the Spare Rib 5 – 6 times before. The first few times I went with my buddy who was in with the crowd and it was an experience.
The bouncers check you for weapons, true hood music hits you the second the door opens, the crowd was mostly black and the overall experience was similar to hitting up a local club joint in downtown Atlanta (not midtown… downtown).
The bartenders were really nice every time I’ve been there and I usually only stayed for about an hour. Smoking was full on permitted the last time I was there. This place is not for everybody, but it is unique as it is the only such establishment in West Chester, PA.

OK. This is one of the few places I haven’t been in west chester. And will go there once I have the owners invite me in. Personally.
Now I will warn you that I am… a cracker. And I know this is mostly a black person bar but I would like to come in and meet and mingle with African Americans. Invite me… I will come.

By far the worst bar in the area. As one post says they are very light on the cocktails. Food was horendous, For a «black» bar the chicken was dry as can be. NEVER AGAIN… stay away!!! Owners are not the best to deal with as I encountered them with the meal

The de facto Black bar of West Chester. Plenty of local black community folk come down for drinks, food and some dancing. Drinks are generally weak because the bartenders use those devices that control the amount of alcohol poured. Sometimes, they don’t though, depending on the type of drink you order. Prices are average but I think they should be cheaper because the drinks are kind of weak. The DJ is usually on point with the music. I love rap, like R&B and dancehall and he seems to always play songs that I like. The crowd is mostly town black heads like I mentioned before and you will get young and old alike. There are some other ethnicities that stroll through as well. I don’t go to the Rib for food so I can’t speak on that too much. I can say that the chicken wings are really good though. Probably the best in West Chester and you can get them pretty late too. Overall, it’s an okay bar. You need to catch it on the right night.
