As a recipient of Kara C.‘s wedding invitation, I can vouch for the quality and attention to detail of The Paper Place. Kara’s wedding invitation was one of the most unique notes that I’ve received. The invitation was a clear, one-sided postcard with white calligraphy and peacock detailing. You’re probably wondering: «White ink on clear paper? How does that work!?» Quite well, actually. The bride’s favorite color is lime green, which was the color of the envelope. When guests opened the card, the invitation looked amazing. Also, this gave recipients an excuse to hold onto the envelope; something that normally gets discarded. I pinned my invitation to the envelope, which was filled with directions, the RSVP card, registry and other essentials. Then, of course, placed it on the refrigerator for a couple of months until the big day. Everything I needed to prepare for the wedding was right there, plus I had a gorgeous reminder of Kara C.‘s marriage.

I have gone to The Paper Place for several years for all of my paper needs and always left happy. They are a great place to buy personalized notecards for someone special and have an eclectic selection for a reasonable price. Most recently, I used their services for my wedding invitations. Their selection is impressive and I found exactly what I wanted. I told the staff members that I wanted something unique and they pointed me in the right direction. I LOVED my invitations when they came in and they made it a simple process. The best part is that they address your envelopes for you which is a life-saver for those of us with terrible handwriting. They did a great job in matching the font and they look awesome! I will say that your experience can vary slightly depending on who is working that day. All of the staff is friendly but I did not quite mesh with one of the staff members. I did not feel comfortable around her and sometimes felt that she was judgmental of my ideas — such as the wording on my envelopes. I did not want to address them«Mr. and Mrs. John Smith» because it is not in line with my ideals(yes, I’m a self-proclaimed feminist). She stated several times that it was proper and traditional so I should do it that way, but that it was up to me(with a hint of snark). No big deal though, sometimes personalities clash. In the end, I worked with Ann(who I believe may be the owner) and she was wonderful. She was receptive to my ideas and opinions and I appreciated her ideas as well. The Paper Place is located in a cute older house and the service really does feel personal and friendly. Anything that you can think of that you’ll ever need, they can make it out of paper! I will definitely be going there for all of my future stationery needs, whether it’s for invitations, thank you cards, or a cute gift.

Wedding invitations had me really stressed out due to the price, wording, etc. Since it is one of the first impressions of your wedding, we wanted something that was contemporary and fun. I spent a day checking out invitations and went to 10 stores in all. The Paper Place had great options, and the invitations I loved most were 25% off. The staff was very helpful and took care of the few problems before I even noticed them. The Map card was the wrong font, so Sam sent them back to the printer before I even knew the invitations were ready at all! They also dealt with my last minute, table assignments and table changes very well. If I ever plan another huge event again, I would use The Paper Place(despite the fact I live in NYC) because they were so professional and kind. Also, this store is adorable.
