Serving up Memphis BBQ, Rafferty’s offers some decent BBQ. It is a chain restaurant and it lacks the character and flavor that makes a place a destination location. They do have good pulled pork and decent ribs. The pulled Pork is slathered with some sweet & zesty BBQ sauce, egg bun and topped with pickle. Spike’s Mean Beans is by far the best side with a nice little kick to them. Overall, this place is a nice family place when you have a BBQ craving.

This place feels like a chain, but I’ve not heard of it. Similar to Applebees or Cheddar’s in appearance and price point. I went with the Chicken Salad, Croissant and Soup lunch, $ 9. It included two warm full-sized croissants, a heap of ‘homemade’ Chicken Salad(with celery, grapes and walnuts — tasty), and a cup of Potato Soup. The soup, with bacon and cheese on top, was good(but not as good as Bennigan’s). My coworker G had the ‘Silky’ Chicken Noodle soup and a half of a club. The club was large. Not sure why they call the soup silky because it looked like plain CNS(our waiter didn’t know why either). We told our waiter we were in a hurry, and our meals were out in less than 10 minutes.

The food at Rafferty’s was okay. Nothing really exciting, nothing particularly off. It seemed like traditional sports bar food. I found the BBQ sauce on the hamburger to be a bit overpowering, with an almost pungent smoke smell/flavor to it. One nice thing is that the cheese was shredded and fresh, versus a lame slice. The items the other members of my party ordered came out well prepared, though perhaps a bit less excitement than what we expected. Just average. The service was good, but not great.
