Lumber Jack Food & Spirits

My wife and I try to stop at this particular restaurant each time we head up north. The quality of the food is very good although the prices are a bit more than we would expect to pay for similar quality here locally. Our most recent stop here was last Friday evening. The service this particular visit was not typical as we had to actually ask someone to take our order. My wife ordered the lake perch which was very good and I had a chicken quesadilla which was also quite good. We will continue to stop at this location in the future.

Wow, what a gem this place is. The bf and I stumbled on this place this morning on our way up north. We knew we were going to stop and eat in West Branch, but didn’t decide until we got here. I spotted it from the road and was like «we must go here!»
Walking in, this place is super cool. It has a lumberjack/​cabin feel to it, with a small store in the front. In the entry way, there was a real stuffed bear that I took a picture with. We were warmly greeted and seated after we did some window shopping in their store.
The menu has a little bit of everything. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are on this menu. I went with the half order of french toast with scrambled eggs. They were nice enough to substitute the meat with eggs since I do not eat pork. BF got the bicuits with gravy, hash browns and toast. The meal was delicious! Prices here are exceptionally reasonable, with nice portion size.
I really love the décor here. It’s done just right. They really hit the nail on the head with the cabin feel, and they are open 6 AM until 11 PM. Plus, they have a bar area if your just looking to sit and have drinks. Overall, I loved this place and enjoyed my time here. If I was in the area again, I would stop here again hands down.

The prices are fair, the food is great, the service is excellent… what more can you ask for?
I loved the 5 onion soup. I always wish there was more broth in these soups as the croutons soak up all the broth but there was plenty of onions and just the right amount of quality cheese on top.
The Reuben was loaded with meat.
Our server, Melanie, made sure our coffee cup was never empty.
My favorite part of the meal… the incredibly decadent and delicious cheesecake. It cost $ 6.50 but it was a huge slice with fresh berries and tasted so very good.
I like the fun decorations and the mini store inside that is stocked with fun Michigan made products.

Great place, food and atmosphere. The ribs were delicious. A little slow on the service but very nice and friendly.
