I’ll never go anywhere else to have ink laid. Ever. Seriously.
The Art Gecko crew is made up of terrific folks who are fun, easy-​going, covered in ink (of course), beautiful, highly-​skilled people who retain the professionalism so often lost in the body modification industry. It’s refreshing to receive great customer service in a great little shop.
There’s some excellent flash to choose from, but I know from personal experience that they’re happy and willing to build custom art for you or work with what you bring them.
I had the pleasure of being tattooed by the owner, Missy.
The shop was *sparkling* clean. Seriously. Not a speck of ick anywhere. And then on top of that, everything I or Missy was coming in contact with in the tattoo process was cleaned again. Several glove changes later, my placement was perfect. I ended up having a color custom mixed for me (I wanted a really bright blue) and it came out perfect. (I’m super-​pale and the bright blue stands out against my skin just like I wanted it to!)
Missy has a great touch. She’s an award-​winning artist who has been slinging for years, and I was incredibly comfortable in her very capable hands. She’s a splendid conversationalist and was just a fun person to be tattooed by. Make sure you ask her about being the Pirate King of New England– you are bound to get some hilarious tales from her.

We’ll start with the best and work our way down:
Shad Quill has nice shading technique, but definately not comparable to any of the best shaders in New England, nor the Northeast.
Kelly Culhane and Missy Kramer are equal in talent: nice lines/​edge work and they both have some character and expression to their work.
Dale Douglas is a MEDIOCRE tattoo artist AT BEST. She is great at tracing and being another sort-​of-​cute «girl tattoo artist» of a shop. Her newly finished tattoos with no lines look faded and washed out. Her vibrant colored tattoos are carbon copy tattoos from the shop selection. No originality or signature style to her work.
I wouldn’t waste my money here. The tattoo work is nothing extrodinary. Just OK. There is nothing done here that couldn’t be done at any side of the road tattoo parlor.
