I call in an order for a Combo Platter with lamb Kabob and chicken Kafta. I drive down there and get ready to pay and they tell me that they don’t have rice and I’ll be getting french fries. Umm… Okay? After I pay they tell me that they don’t have lamb and they were preparing a beef kabob for me. WHYNOTTELLMETHATBEFORE I DRIVEALLTHEWAYDOWNTHERE??? I’ll change my rating if the food is exceptional, but on the strength of this upsetting service experience; 1 star! Next day update: Food was okay(some of the meat was burnt and the hummus was watery) but they forgot to give me my damn falafels! So just to recap, I ordered a combo platter with a lamb kabob, chicken kafta and it should have come with rice and 2 falafels. Instead I got beef kabob with French fries, with NO lamb and NO falafels. Falafel King my a**!

Falafel was killer. The service was great, we were served a ton of bread and it came hot from the oven we watched them bake it in. We would totally come back again as we really enjoyed the experience.

One visit was enough for me. On recommendation from an employee I went with a chicken shawarma sandwich. My first few bites were delicious. The next bite was quite chewy as I dealt with some grizzle. Then the next bite was all crunch. I quickly spit out my bite and it was a large piece of bone. Gross! I threw the rest out not wanting to see what surprise was in store for me next.

Whenever I’m jonesing for a quick/lunch chicken shawarma or mediterranean salad, this is my go-to spot. The sandwich is a generous portion. The salads are large. Hot food, served hot. Cold food, served cold. The restaurant is clean. The service can be a bit hit or miss. While they have free WiFi, it should not be used for any service that requires a login/password. No alcohol. CCW friendly. Ample parking. Easy to get into the parking lot. Exiting the parking lot? Yeah, it can be a PITA. Just go south/right on Orchard Lake and loop around past Powerhouse Gym and USPS.

You have got to big kidding me! It took 27 mins for my carry out order of two sandwiches that only had two pieces of meat each. Not only do I feel insulted, but I feel cheated. Never coming back again. This place doesn’t even deserve a star. As a matter of fact they owe real restaurants stars to make up for their lack of service. I guess you need low quality places to appreciate the good ones.

The falafel seems old even though it’s made in front of you not the best I’ve had nothing too major to come for

Great food for a good price. Everything exceeded our expectations. I give it four stars because my falafel was only lukewarm and not hot. I love the salad dressing on the salad itself. The garlic sauce is definitely amazing. And the hummus is very good as well. Overall service and quality of food where excellent. We will be back!

3.5 Stars, but will give them four. Awesome party packages! They did a great job with the party platter with a large selection and solid food. Only thing was, I would had enjoyed it a more if they use better bread or serve the pita breads.

This is my favorite Mediterranean spot! Service a bit spotty(no offer on drink refills is consistent)…but food is always outstanding. Their fresh baked bread pulled right from the fire is the best!

Great prices, friendly people, not crowded. They make fresh bread and give it to you for free with basically anything you buy. Lentil soup here is the best I’ve ever had! This is my favorite place to eat in West Bloomfield. It’s inexpensive, yet it also has an ambience suitable to a sit-down dinner.

Pros: — Big fan of their crispy beef tanours — Affordable($ 4 – 6 sandwiches) — Generally quiet — good place for casual chatting — Generally pleasant younger folks working at the business Cons: — Food can be variable in terms of quality — Some folks who answer the phone can occasionally be off putting in that they’re quite terse and rude when answering questions. Has made me decide not to eat there on a few occasions

Excellent middle eastern food, I would say. Tabbouli and hummus was really good and FRESH which is hard to find. Yummy chicken shawarma too. Always consistent, always!

What happened to Falafel King? I won’t be going back to the restaurant. The past three visits have been less than decent. The chicken lemon rice soup was awful! It tasted like Mediterranean spice and rice soup. The service has been a problem recently as well. The servers don’t come back to the table to check in, inquire about refills, bring napkins, even bring the bill. Also, we have noticed that they’re getting really stingy with the bread. That’s okay… Mediterranean restaurants are plentiful in the area, so I’ll have to find a new favorite. I should also mention that we were overcharged twice. The lunch time specials were listed as $ 8.95 on the menu, but we were charged one dollar more per meal each time.

I’m really torn. I liked the ambience(although the pillow king infomercial was playing for some reason???) and the prices were right. I was not a huge fan of the food. The lentil soup seemed kinda watery, the bread was okay — but maybe it was heated in the microwave? I was not a huge fan of the garlic. Oh and the tabouli was just okay. The hummus was super good, the falafel was super super good. I would go back, but I am still looking for a good middle eastern restaurant north of 696.

I stopped in on Sunday 06÷01÷14 to get a carry-out. I called it in around 8pm and they told me it would be 10 – 15 minutes. I got there about 8:20 and was told it would be 5 minutes. While I was waiting, I observed a couple ordering there dine-in order and they also ordered sandwiches. They got there food while I was still waiting for mine. I didn’t get my sandwiches until 8:40pm. How did the other people get there food before mine when I ordered mine first??? Poor Customer service. THe place didn’t look very clean either. There were food crumbs on the floor, the windows were dirty with finger print marks and the empty fridge also had finger print marks on it. If they don’t keep the restaurant clean, it makes you wonder how clean the kitchen is? The sandwiches were ok, nothing crazy.

Can’t complain about falafel king — good prices, service, and menu. I got the chicken tawook wrap and i liked it but didn’t love it. I think next time I’ll stick to hummus and chicken or of course, falafel! Great place to pop in for quick middle eastern food to go.

The falafel is great, also koubbe, soup, and kefta kabab are the best to try. For a change you can try mujadara and grape leaves. Did not like shawrma or chicken shish. the bread is great. Family type, nice decorations. Will go again
